Bangladesh Star, Who Made Shocking Revelations About PSL, Rejoins Lahore Qalandar Squad

NDTV23-05-2025

Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain has rejoined Lahore Qalandars ahead of their eliminator clash against Karachi Kings in the PSL, scheduled for Thursday in Lahore. Rishad was in Sharjah on Wednesday, where he featured in the third and final T20I of the Bangladesh-UAE series. He played in two of the three matches, with UAE clinching the series 2-1 in Sharjah. He was among several overseas players who temporarily moved out of Pakistan earlier this month when the PSL was suspended due to border tensions.
At the time of PSL's sudden suspension, Rishad had revealed that the tensed situations made New Zealand star Daryl Mitchell extremely worried and even made England batter Tom Curran cry.
Later, Tom Curran took to Instagram and revealed that he did not cry during that situation.
With Rishad's return, Qalandars now boast a trio of Bangladeshi spinners, including Shakib Al Hasan - who has played one match - and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who joined the squad a few days ago.
Rishad has already played five matches for Qalandars this season, picking up nine wickets at an average of 16.44. However, he struggled during the UAE series, taking three wickets at a high cost.
Qalandars now face some tricky selection decisions, especially in their bowling unit, which features a wide range of options. While Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf lead the pace attack, the choice among the three spinners will be one to watch.
Rishad will be available for the remainder of Qalandars' PSL campaign, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from May 22 to May 25. Bangladesh begin their T20I series against Pakistan on May 28 in Lahore, while the PSL final is set for May 25.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana and two key members of the coaching staff withdrew from the upcoming T20I tour against Pakistan, citing security concerns, just days before the team's scheduled departure.
The BCB confirmed that fielding coach James Pamment and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kiely will not travel with the squad, as the team prepares for a three-match series in Lahore on May 28, 30 and 31.

TikTok star Khaby Lame plays soccer in Brazil after US detention

SAO PAULO — Khaby Lame, the world's most-followed TikTok personality who left the U.S. after being detained by immigration agents, went to Brazil where he's been spending some time with friends, local authorities said Thursday. Lame is staying with AC Milan player Emerson Royal, and has been enjoying time with local fans, Paulo Eduardo Dias Junior, a city councilman from Americana, about 78 miles northwest of Sao Paulo, told The Associated Press. On Wednesday night, they played a friendly soccer match with locals. Lame left the United States after being detained on June 6 by immigration agents at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, according to a statement from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Junior organized Wednesday's match on behalf of the nonprofit he leads, Instituto Jr Dias. He said that Lame and Royal's participation helped collect 150 food baskets for vulnerable families. 'Emerson Royal is a role model for the children in our community, and so is Khaby, who is globally known through social media. He's a sensation among kids today,' Junior said. 'He had a lot of fun with the kids and played a lot.' The councilman said that the team that Lame and Royal were on won 3-1. Everything went smoothly, he added, except for the post-match celebration. As is tradition in Brazil, players gathered for a barbecue. But Lame preferred a parmegiana, so they took him to a local restaurant, Junior said. This is not Lame's first time in Brazil. Last year, he traveled to the country to attend Royal's wedding. Lame arrived in the U.S. on April 30 and 'overstayed the terms of his visa,' an ICE spokesperson told the , which sent a message seeking comment Tuesday to the email address listed on Lame's Instagram account. He hasn't publicly commented on his detention. His detention and voluntary departure from the United States comes amid U.S. President Donald Trump's escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE, as the president tests the bounds of his executive authority. A voluntary departure — which was granted to Lame — allows those facing removal from the U.S. to avoid a deportation order on their immigration record, which could prevent them from being allowed back into the U.S. for up to a decade. The 25-year-old Lame rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated 'life hacks.' He has more than 162 million followers on TikTok alone. The Senegal-born influencer moved to Italy when he was an infant with his working class parents and also has Italian citizenship. His internet fame quickly evolved. He signed a multiyear partnership with designer brand Hugo Boss in 2022. In January, he was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. Last month, he attended the Met Gala in New York City, days after arriving in the U.S. Follow 's coverage of Latin America and the Caribbean at /hub/latin-america

Fans had noticed he wasn't on the field during the Mets' recent games, and now, the reason has been revealed. While the team played on, Francisco and his wife Nahomi were waiting for a moment that would change their lives forever. Francisco Alvarez and wife Nahomi become parents for first time On Tuesday, June 11, 2025, the New York Mets placed Francisco Alvarez on the paternity list. This meant he would miss a few games to be with his wife Nahomi as they prepared to welcome their first child. The Mets were about to begin a three-game series against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. That same day, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that Alvarez was not available for the game because he was at the hospital with his wife. On Wednesday morning, June 12, Alvarez shared a special photo on his Instagram story. It showed him holding his newborn daughter close to his chest. The picture melted fans' hearts and quickly spread across social media. Nahomi Alvarez also gave a small peek into the moment. On her Instagram story, she posted a photo of her hospital bed, surrounded by food, with a soft caption. She later shared a short clip showing the tiny hands of their baby girl. This beautiful family moment came just after Francisco Alvarez played one of his best games of the season. On Sunday, June 9, against the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field in New York, Alvarez went 3-for-5. He hit a 450-foot home run and collected two RBIs, helping his team in a big win. It was a strong way to step away from the field and into fatherhood. Many said they couldn't wait to see him back on the field, now as a proud father. The Mets have not shared how many games Alvarez will miss. But it's clear that the team, the fans, and most importantly, Francisco himself, are overjoyed by the new addition to the family.

WTC Final: Sarfaraz Khan visits Lord's with father Naushad, watches Australia vs South Africa

Sarfaraz Khan visits Lord's with father Naushad (Screengrab) NEW DELHI: Young Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan made a special visit to Lord's on Thursday alongside his father and long-time coach, Naushad Khan , as the second day of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final between Australia and South Africa unfolded in dramatic fashion. Sarfaraz, who shared glimpses of the visit via his Instagram stories, was seen soaking in the atmosphere at the iconic venue, one where he no doubt dreams of making his mark someday. It was a father-son cricket pilgrimage of sorts, with Naushad having famously mentored Sarfaraz and his younger brother Musheer from Mumbai's maidans to international reckoning. On the field, Australia seized control of the WTC Final, largely thanks to a masterclass in fast bowling from skipper Pat Cummins . Cummins delivered a sensational spell of 6-28, claiming his 300th Test wicket and dismantling South Africa for just 138. He took four wickets for just one run in a post-lunch burst that shredded the Proteas' lower order. South Africa had resumed at 43/4 and managed a brief recovery through a 64-run stand between Temba Bavuma (36) and David Bedingham (45), but collapsed shortly after. Kagiso Rabada had earlier starred with the ball for South Africa, taking 5-51, and he returned in the second innings to remove both Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green in the same over. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo 'Nitish Kumar is a guy who can bowl that magic ball': India bowling coach Morne Morkel At tea, Australia were 32-2, holding a 106-run lead with Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith at the crease. As Sarfaraz watched from the stands, he witnessed not just a gripping day of Test cricket but also a landmark moment in Cummins's career, capped by a standing ovation from the Lord's crowd, a far cry from the jeers he received during the 2023 Ashes for the Bairstow incident.
