Hearth Display: This Organizer Fixed Our Family's Daily Schedule Chaos
The Hearth Display is an all-in-one family organizer that's beautiful and functional. Illustration: Forbes / Photo: Hearth
It took the place of all the whiteboards, paper calendars, sticky notes, digital calendars, apps and more. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's changed my life as a working mom, too. It's the first thing my kids check in the morning and before going to bed to know what's happening the next day—and it looks beautiful on my wall, which they may not care about but that certainly makes me happy. Keep reading for my Hearth Display review and to learn all about my yearlong experience with it.
The calendar is by far the most used tab of the Hearth Display in my house, by adults and kids alike. I love how easy it is to add new events, so if my kid has a playdate, I can tell them to just add it to the calendar.
Adding things to the calendar is easy enough on the display that my kids now do it on their own, and it also syncs to both my Google and Apple calendars. I also sync my kids' sports calendars from other apps like Band to keep it all centralized. You can add new events directly on the screen, through any of your synced calendars or via the Hearth app. For visual people like me, you can assign a specific color to each family member so you can see your calendar's entries color-coded by person.
A feature I haven't taken enough advantage of is that you can take a picture of a schedule, say for example, a handout you get with your kid's soccer game dates on it, and text it to the Hearth Assistant, which will then put them onto your calendar for you instead of you painstakingly manually inputting each one. The couple times I remembered to try this, it worked out flawlessly. Just note it doesn't happen right away—it takes a day or two to process it. You can also text the same AI assistant to add singular events here and there, but I find it's easier to just add them myself.

My youngest has been using the Routine tab of the Hearth Display since before she was 5. You can program kid-friendly visual cues to remind little ones of what they need to do in the morning, afternoon or both. This may be one of my favorite parts of the Hearth Display, as it's clearly designed with young children in mine. I have things like do your homework, put your lunchbox away and pick up toys for the afternoon routine. She loves clicking the 'done' button under each one to see the fun confetti sprinkle over the screen.
For my older kids, who started using this when they were 9 and 10, the routines were fun for a few months, but like all things, they lost interest and had to be reminded to check it daily. That's likely a parenting task that no product can take off your hands.
The Routines part of the Hearth Display is easy enough for even little kids to use on their own. Forbes/Esther Carlstone Lists
Creating to-do lists, grocery lists and custom lists (like birthday party supplies) are another option within the Hearth Display. You can assign each list or a specific task on each list to different household members. Admittedly this is a part of the Hearth Display that I wish were more utilized in my family, and I think if my kids had their own smartphones for it to pop-up reminders to them from the app, it would be handy. Until that day, however, I have to remind them to look at the lists and complete the tasks.
They do add things we need to the grocery lists, which has been convenient, and having all the to-dos in one centralized spot to look at—even long overdue home maintenance items—is helpful to my family. Meal Planner
The addition of the Meal Planner section is a recent update that I'm sure was much requested by current Hearth Display users. The only downside? My kids think it's hilarious (or hopeful) to leave meals they want us to make. Rewards
Another new addition that's been fun and given my older kids (and the younger one, too) renewed interest in completing their routines and to-dos has been the addition of rewards. They can 'earn' a certain parent-designated number of coins for specific tasks and when they collect a certain number (again, that number is set by you), they can earn various prizes. Hearth gives you some ideas to start out with like a movie night, 15 extra minutes of screentime and more but you can add anything you can think of to motivate them. Weather
This may seem like a tiny feature, but it was one I was so glad to see appear during an update a few months ago. My kids are constantly asking what the weather will be like and what they should wear, so it really helps foster that independence of checking for themselves and making a decision based on what the weather says. Sleep Mode
You can upload a family picture, or any other picture, to be displayed when the monitor goes to sleep, leaving it to look just like a digital photo frame, which I love. It's also handy when you have guests over and you don't necessarily want them to see your family's endless to-do lists. Today's Wellness
This is the newest feature added to the Hearth Display—so new that I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I'm excited. Meant to promote emotional wellness, you can add it to your child's routines to prompt them to pick an emoji that corresponds with how they're feeling right then. I love that it's an opportunity for them to take a beat and reflect on their feelings and build emotional intelligence. Final Thoughts On The Hearth Display
The first six months I owned the Hearth Display, there were a few hiccups, like the touchscreen not responding smoothly when we tried to add new items or freezing every once in a while, but since then there have been a number of software updates that seem to have addressed all of those and added some really cool new features.
The Hearth Display isn't the only digital organizer and calendar out there these days with competitors like the Skylight Calendar and Cozyla Calendar also offering a way to streamline multiple calendars and to-do lists into one efficient display. Other editors here have tested those smart calendars, but for me, I honestly can't imagine going back to my old pen-and-paper-wall-calendar life. Not only is the Hearth Display aesthetically pleasing (visitors frequently ask me about it), it's intuitive, easy to use and actually helps to reduce the daily mental and paper clutter of my life, which as a busy parent, makes it 100% worth it.

Design software maker Figma extends gains after blockbuster NYSE trading debut
(Reuters) -Design software maker Figma's shares rose another 10% in premarket trading on Friday, extending strong debut-day gains after a blowout U.S. initial public offering that has reignited the tech listing market. The San Francisco, California-based company's shares closed at $115.5 on Thursday, compared with its IPO price of $33. The 250% surge lifted Figma's market value to nearly $68 billion, far exceeding the $20-billion valuation in a now-scrapped buyout deal with Photoshop maker Adobe. Figma's $1.22-billion offering, the fourth-largest U.S. IPO of the year, is being seen as a potential catalyst for other startups eyeing a flotation after a three-year freeze in the tech listings market. The deal's strong reception renewed hopes of a broader reopening of the pipeline, as private companies and investors look to capitalize on improving market conditions and strong demand for growth names. Figma, which has highlighted its focus on AI, has also benefited from Wall Street's enthusiasm for the technology. The boom fueled a sharp rally in tech stocks over the past year and drove up valuations and investor demand for companies seen as central to the AI ecosystem. "In order for application software companies to remain relevant and provide value to end users, they will need to implement GenAI capabilities which represents a potential catalyst for adoption and increased usage of Figma," D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said in a note. Founded in 2012 and led by CEO Dylan Field, Figma provides cloud-based collaborative design tools, with a roster of marquee clients including Google, Microsoft, Netflix and Uber. Though the blockbuster performance is good news for the IPO market, particularly for high-growth tech listings, the sharp surge suggests Figma may have priced its IPO too conservatively, potentially leaving money on the table. Bankers typically target a first-day rise of 10% to 20% to balance strong demand with optimal fundraising. AMD Stock To $330?
Could AMD stock (NASDAQ:AMD) reach $330 in the next two years? There's a good chance of this happening. How? Consider this, just about four months ago, at the end of April 2025, AMD stock was trading at around $80 levels and has seen a massive rally to close to $180 per share currently. Looking at the valuations, AMD stock trades at about 55x trailing earnings and just about 45x projected 2025 earnings. Is this pricey? No. Especially if you consider AMD's steadily expanding earnings, growing share of the CPU market, and most importantly, the long-growth runway for the artificial intelligence market. In the scenario below, we use AMD's revenues, profitability, and valuation multiples to demonstrate a potential path to a $ 300-plus stock price in the near future. AMD's GPUs Can Drive Revenue AMD's revenues have risen considerably from $6.7 billion in 2019 to about $26 billion in 2024, an annual growth of over 31%, and the momentum can hold up. Consensus projects a close to 25% growth for 2025. However, there is a real opportunity for AMD to grow its sales at an average annual rate of close to 35% for the next two years, led by growth in accelerated computing space and its new GPUs. Its revenues could move from an estimated $32 billion in FY'25 to around $58.3 billion by FY'27, or an over 80% increase. Several trends could drive this continued growth. Separately, if you are looking for potential gains with reduced volatility compared to individual stocks, the Trefis High Quality portfolio offers an alternative—having surpassed the performance of the S&P 500 and produced returns of over 91% since its inception. More capable AI chips from AMD: AMD is likely to see strong tailwinds from the generative AI trend, as graphics processing units have become the de facto chips for running AI-related workloads. To be sure, Nvidia makes the best AI chips in the market and has a hardware and software ecosystem that is well entrenched with big cloud providers. However, there remains a considerable opportunity for AMD. At its AI Day earlier this year, AMD unveiled its latest MI350 lineup, which it says will deliver 4x the AI compute performance of its predecessor. Beyond hardware, AMD is building out its AI software and systems stack. These moves could also strengthen AMD's ROCm software stack, which takes an open-source, standards-based approach, a contrast to Nvidia's proprietary CUDA ecosystem. AMD appears confident about its AI products. Earlier this week, there were reports that the company would bump up pricing on its Instinct MI350 AI GPUs from $15,000 to $25,000 - a 70% hike (related: See how artificial general intelligence can 2x Nvidia stock). Inference Can Drive AI Market Share: As a larger mix of AI workloads will shift to inference - essentially using the built models in real-world applications - where efficiency and cost matter more than brute force computing power, AMD could see gains. Costs are also becoming a concern for end-customers of AI chips, as Nvidia's strong pricing power has pushed its net margins above 50% in recent quarters. This could benefit AMD, as customers look for more affordable alternatives to build out data centers quickly. This trend is already playing out. For example, Oracle chose AMD's accelerated computing chips to power its latest super cluster for high-intensity AI workloads, after testing showed AMD's GPUs delivered low latency and strong performance at a competitive price. Even after the reported price hike, AMD's MI350 would still undercut Nvidia's entry-level Blackwell B200, while offering superior specs (related: AMD Stock's Big AI Opportunity Is Taking Shape). Overall, there is plenty of room for growth. AMD estimates that the market for AI accelerator chips will reach approximately $400 billion in 2027. HSBC projects that AMD could see AI-related sales exceed $15 billion by 2026, compared to over $5 billion in 2024. The large market size and continued momentum should make a 35%+ growth in total revenues over the next two years a real possibility. Higher-End Products Can Drive Margins Combine this robust revenue growth with the fact that AMD's adjusted net margins (net income, or profits after all expenses and taxes, calculated as a percent of revenues) are on an improving trajectory - they grew from levels of about 11% in FY'19 to over 21% in FY'24 as the company sees better economies of scale and a more favorable product mix skewed toward complex data center products. Margins could potentially trend still higher to levels of about 25%, as AMD sees higher GPU sales with higher economies of scale, improving its fixed cost absorption. Now, combining 25% adjusted net margins, with about $58 billion in revenue, would translate into earnings of about $14.5 billion. That's a roughly 2.7x increase from levels seen in 2024. Strong Results Mean A Smaller Contraction In Earnings Multiples Now, if earnings grow 2.7x, the price-to-earnings multiple will shrink by 2.7x to levels of about 21x, assuming the stock price stays the same. But that's exactly what AMD investors are betting will not happen. If earnings expand 2.7x over the next few years, instead of the P/E shrinking from a figure around 55x now to about 21x, a scenario where the PE metric stays at about 40x looks quite likely, as stronger growth and expanding margins give investors more confidence about AMD's future. This would make the growth of AMD stock to levels of close to $330 within the next few years a real possibility. So what about the time horizon for this high-return scenario? While our above example illustrates a roughly two-year time frame, in practice, it won't make much difference whether it takes two years or three, as long as AMD is on this revenue expansion trajectory, with margins holding up, the stock price could respond similarly. While AMD stock may have considerable potential, investing in individual stocks can be risky. As an alternative, the Trefis Reinforced Value (RV) Portfolio has outperformed its all-cap stocks benchmark (combination of the S&P 500, S&P mid-cap, and Russell 2000 benchmark indices) to produce strong returns for investors. Why is that? The quarterly rebalanced mix of large-, mid- and small-cap RV Portfolio stocks provided a responsive way to make the most of upbeat market conditions while limiting losses when markets head south, as detailed in RV Portfolio performance metrics.
