There's something deeply meaningful about celebrating milestones like birthdays and anniversaries with our loved ones. In one such occasion, a mom celebrated their family's foster Pitbull's adoption anniversary in a video after their story went viral on TikTok. A year after she found Nala and brought her home, the post recapped the wholesome and life-changing moments of the pup and what the adoption meant for her kids.
Mom shows her kids' bond with Pitbull while celebrating dog's 'Gotcha Day'
Adopting a dog and giving them a second chance at life as well as a forever home doesn't just change their world — it transforms your life, too. This mom, Nicole, shared the story of their foster Pitbull, Nala, in a touching video to celebrate her adoption anniversary, a year after their life-changing move went viral on social media.
The TikTok post from a year ago showed the children's reaction after learning they saved the sweet girl's life, as they instantly bonded with the pup. And the latest video showed Nicole's kids' extraordinary bond with the Pittie now as they celebrated the dog's 'gotcha day.'
The initial clip showed one of her sons cuddling Nala, who hid her face from the camera, and celebrating the special milestone with her. Meanwhile, the remainder of the post recapped the little one's story from the moment the foster mom found her on the side of the road and decided to bring her home because the 'shelters were full.'
As the Pitbull's adoption anniversary video progressed, it shared updates and all the developments they made throughout the year. These included vet visits and their attempts to find her a good home. However, Nicole explained that her kids fell in love with Nala as more clips looked back at their journey together. It further showed how she made new friends along the way, found comfort as part of the family, and flawlessly blended in.
Going to the beach, celebrating Christmas, playing in the snow, exploring the wild, swimming in the pool, and endless cuddle sessions pretty much summed up the Pittie's story with her new family. The video concluded by noting how 'one man's 'trash'' turned into 'another man's treasure.'

3 Dates for Disney Investors to Circle in August, Including a Big Financial Update

Key Points Disney shares have risen 25% over the past year, well ahead of all of the market averages. The media giant reports fiscal third-quarter results on Wednesday. Analysts see low single-digit growth on both ends of the income statement. Disney has scored big at the box office in recent months by revisiting successful franchises. It's doing so again later this week. 10 stocks we like better than Walt Disney › Shares of Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) proved mortal last month, sliding 4% in July after hitting a new 52-week highs in each of the last three trading days in June. Can Disney get its groove back this summer? There will be plenty of potentially stock-moving moments in August. From a telltale financial update to an annual fan event, there are a few dates that Disney investors will want to keep an eye on in the month ahead. Let's take a closer look. Aug. 6 Disney will announce its fiscal third-quarter results on Wednesday morning. There's a lot riding on the fresh numbers, even if Wall Street pros aren't holding out for much. Analysts see revenue clocking in at $23.76 billion for the three months ending in June, less than 3% higher than where Disney landed a year earlier. The profit target is only marginally higher. The consensus estimate calls for Disney to earn $1.45 a share, a 4% increase. Now that Disney's streaming business has been profitable for more than a year, the year-over-year comparisons might not be as impressive. Thankfully, recent history is on the side of the bulls. Check out how Disney's bottom line has turned out over the past year relative to market expectations. Quarter EPS (estimate) EPS (actual) Surprise Q3 2024 $1.19 $1.39 16% Q4 2024 $1.11 $1.14 3% Q1 2025 $1.43 $1.76 23% Q2 2025 $1.21 $1.45 20% Data source: Yahoo! Finance. Disney has topped analyst projections every single time over the past year. The pixie dust on top is that three of those surprises have been double-digit percentage beats. The last two reports saw the House of Mouse exceeding forecasts by at least 20%. There might be reasons to be concerned this time around, though. Comcast, Disney's biggest attractions rival opened a brand new theme park in May, minutes from Disney World. Meanwhile, Disney's Lilo & Stitch live-action reboot became the first U.S. film to top $1 billion in worldwide receipts this year during the quarter, but Inside Out 2 fared even better as last year's biggest fiscal third-quarter release. The impact of a softening economy and trade war implications can also eat into Disney's results. However, until Disney shows signs of softening, investors can look to the stock's recent performance: Its 25% jump over the past year is almost double the market average. Aug. 8 Disney has been on top of the domestic box office the past two weekends with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It's hoping to stay there next weekend. But if the well-reviewed Marvel entry can't score a three-peat, there's a good chance the crown can go to another Disney franchise, as Freakier Friday opens on Friday. The new films brings back Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan from the initial reboot that became a sleeper hit and cult classic 22 years ago. The new story goes one more notch up the family tree, and the same might happen for the film's chances as well. Freakier Friday should draw fans of the 2003 reboot as well as a potentially new younger audience. After a slow start at the local multiplex in 2025 with a few notable disappointments, Disney seems to be back in sync with moviegoers. Aug. 29 The biennial Destination D23 event comes to Disney World in the final weekend of the month. The three-day event isn't as prolific as last year's D23 Expo that takes place every other year, but it's a place for Disney fans to gather and catch presentations about the past and present, and, more importantly, to get glimpses of the future of the entertainment giant. This year's Destination D23 won't have the same fireworks that Disney fired off at last year's D23 Expo in Anaheim. Several new attractions and expansion plans were announced across its theme parks last summer. There could be some more details or fine tuning of timelines offered, but this will mostly serve as a way to get its fan base excited about the future of its content releases, theme park upgrades, and more. If you want to quantify the fervor of the Disney community, keep in mind that tickets for this three-day event start at $299 a person, going all the way up to $799. Oh, and the event has been sold out for weeks now. If you won't be there, you can be sure that social media, popular blogs, and even financial journos like Yours Truly will be around to keep you updated on anything notable that takes place. 7 best Lidl perfumes dupes that smell designer but cost just £5

As someone who's a self-proclaimed fragrance snob, I'm pretty hard to impress when it comes to copycat perfume. But, in the past year, all I've been hearing about in the world of beauty dupes is Lidl – most specifically, the supermarket brand's scents. Said to rival the likes of Dior J'Adore, Lancôme La Vie Est Belle and – of course – the Sol de Janeiro mists everyone can't get enough of, Lidl dupes are meant to be IT. So naturally, I had to give them a go. While I may have my own thoughts and feelings in regards to dupes (it's a murky sub-section of beauty that's definitely not clear-cut), I also believe these opinions make me the most qualified to test them. You see, if one of these impresses me, you can really trust it's worth dashing to the shops for. And if not? Well, I'm just being an honest Leo queen. As a huge fragrance fan with over ten years' experience working as a beauty editor, I have smelt a huge variety of perfumes over my time. I also have a level of synesthesia, which means I connect smells to visuals, making the olfactory experience more pronounced for me personally. When testing Lidl's perfumes, I took a look at the notes on paper and which designer scent each has been most commonly compared to on social media, before actually spritzing the fragrances and making my own judgments. As well as initial impressions, I waited for each scent to dry down for a well-rounded, balanced opinion to form, and also assessed how they wore as the day went on for longevity points. Smells like…Lancôme La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum 50ml, £77.60 TikTok is rife with comparisons of Femelle and La Vie Est Belle. There's definitely some overlap (both live in the floral-gourmand family), but Lidl's is noticeably sweeter with more of a fruity undertone. It's a little syrupy, but still manages to maintain its refreshing, somewhat lightweight feel. Ultra-pretty and perfect for those who adore a feminine spritz, Femelle is a safe bet for daytime wear if you're looking for something simple. Notes: Iris, vanilla, sweet praline. What reviewers say: 'Femelle is a long-lasting EDP, not bad for a budget one, which can leave its mark for most of the day and evening with no recurring reapplications. It lasts several hours, and it is a suitable perfume to wear daily in the office or for business lunches.' Smells like… Chloé Eau de Parfum For Her 50ml, £80.75 Listen, as someone who actually counts the OG Chloe perfume as one of their top 10 scents of all time, I'm a little wary of harping on too much about Chalou's similarity; I must respect an icon, you'll understand. Both do hit you with soft peony accords upon initial application, but Lidl's dries down a little more generically with hints of musk and broader florals. It also doesn't deliver on longevity nearly as much as Chloe's bestseller. However, it's still one of the better dupes I've smelt, and one which may come in handy between purchases of the more expensive iteration. Notes: Rose essence, sweet lychee, magnolia. What reviewers say: 'Chalou is a light, fresh, and powdered floral with notes of citrus, aquatic flowers, and mellifluous accords.' Smells like… Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 68 Perfume Mist 90ml, £24 Fans of Sol de Janeiro's beloved body mists went wild for Lidl's duped versions in 2024. Not only do they smell similar, they are also a complete steal, priced at £3.99 for just 250ml. What I find most entertaining about this one, is that it's sort of a 'dupe of a dupe.' Sol de Janeiro's Cheirosa 68 is known to be reminiscent of Francis Maison Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge 540, and Lidl's version definitely has a similar feel, too. It's very sweet and super potent (clinging onto fabric in particular), so just be sure you love it before spritzing everywhere! Notes: Jasmine, dragon fruit. What reviewers say: 'This smells exactly the same as the pink Sol de Janeiro. It [also] smells quite like Baccarat Rouge.' Smells like…Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum 50ml, £77.60 Rumoured to smell just like Yves Saint Laurent Libre, Rebile is one of Lidl's newer and lesser-known scents. It definitely has similarities with YSL's bestseller, but perhaps is not quite as sophisticated – but for the price, you'd not really expect it to be. There are strong hints of white florals in there, with plenty of sweetness and a touch of fruitiness. This is akin to a floral spring garden, which will either delight you or slightly overpower you – depending on your taste. What reviewers say: 'I love this perfume so much that I have bought 2 bottles and [am] planning to get more because I'm wearing it all the time and my bottles won't last long. It lasts all day and I wear it no matter what [the] occasion is. It has some similarities with YSL Libre, but it is different in its own way.' Smells like… DIOR J'adore Eau De Parfum 50ml, £88.40 In terms of dupes, this was the one I was perhaps most impressed by in terms of its resemblance to a well-known designer scent. When you initially sniff 'Lovely,' you'll actually be hard-pressed to point out differences between this and J'adore (unless you're incredibly nose-sensitive or a perfumery expert!). For this reason, it's worth picking up if you like the OG – just be warned, you have to reapply it every couple of hours to keep the smell going. Notes: Jasmine, ylang-ylang, rose. What reviewers say: 'Lovely meets as a (very pleasing) modern, fresh, cool, somewhat sporty fragrance.' Smells like… Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist 90ml, £24 Clearly made to smell like the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist, Lidl's take on this warm, summery spritz is similar, but not an exact dupe IMO. It nails the smooth, creamy salted caramel accords, but you struggle to detect any pistachio or vanilla due to how overpowering the caramel is. At £3.99, it is certainly more affordable than SDJ's body mists however, meaning you can spray liberally without worry. Perfect to chuck in your gym bag. Notes: Pistachio, salted caramel. What reviewers say: 'For the price, it's a really good spray. It's got a good smell to it and it lasts a long time.' Smells like… Chanel Coco Mademoiselle au De Parfum Spray 50ml, £92 An old classic, Madame Glamour is best known for its apparent likeness to Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. It was one of Lidl's first foray's into perfume dupes, and is still best known today. It features sweet florals and fruity accords, giving it an end result that's somewhat similar to Chanel's, but for me personally, that's where the comparisons end; there's a clear difference in quality and longevity here. To my nose, it feels a little musty and old-fashioned, but I'm generally more of a fan of fresh, lightweight scents, so this isn't geared towards my taste in the first place. Notes: Patchouli, orange, bergamot. What reviewers say: 'One day I was walking around an antiques market and I heard this older lady saying 'oh, someone is using Coco Mademoiselle,' and then she asked me directly if it was me (I just nodded because I was to[o] stunned to speak to be honest)... This was in France and the lady was also French. So if anyone is wondering if this is a good dupe, here's your answer.'

35 Products That Are Lovely And Useful

A copy of Burn After Writing, a guided journal countless TikTokers swear by — through a series of questions and thought experiments, it encourages people to take time away from their screens to explore their feelings, both new and old, so they can embrace meaningful ones and try to let others go. Wild Iris Musk Body Wash, the summer-friendly sister of the TikTok-famous "old money" Baccarat Rouge 540-inspired body wash. I am a massive fan of both — the moisturizing clean is so fresh, and the scents are so DELIGHTFULLY luscious without overpowering — but trust me when I say that Wild Iris Musk is *the* scent of summer. It's floral, soft, playful, and grounded all at once. (And yes, just like the original version, it smells ... expensive 👀.) A pair of pretty pastel wireless over-the-ear headphones crafted to look like the $399 AirPods Max, so you can still enjoy the comfort and chic style of their iconic headphones without shelling out hundreds of dollars. These feature premium cushion padding, a built-in mic with the ability to take calls, 10 hours of playtime per charge, and surprisingly decent noise blocking for the price. Kitsch's flat claw clip with some modern meets retro vibes that will give your hair a chic little ~pop~ of volume and hold. Reviewers are especially impressed by how strong these little clips are, and how much hair they can hold! Reviewers also note that these make it more comfortable to lean back on chairs, since the claw won't dig into your head. Hanalei Lip Treatment to help *aggressively* restore and moisturize lips overnight, thanks to a truly luxe blend of Hawaiian kukui nut oil, antioxidant-rich agave, and grapeseed oils. If you've been trying product after product trying to outrun your dry, cracked lips, this is the hydration holy grail you're looking for. A set of limited edition Band-Aids with retro flower patterns so the next time you get a little ouch, you can be like, "wound care, but make it summer-y." A set of pink tennis balls, because whether you will be going full Wimbledon or chucking these around for your dog's entertainment, you DESERVE to be doing it as cutely as possible. 💕 Bonus: a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit breast cancer research! A pair of gorgeous kitchen shears that are as functional as they are stunning — reviewers love these all-purpose, super sharp blades for cutting everything from meat and fruit to opening packages and wrangling with complicated wrapping. An Anthropologie-inspired reversible quilted throw blanket you can get in all kinds of fun, lively prints that will startle your boring couch into having a personality, or give your bed a *much* needed reset after a rainy, dreary spring. A wildly popular floral print sheer cover-up for the perfect finishing touch to all your warm weather outfits that won't make you swelter in the heat. Reviewers especially love how easily this packs (and photographs!!) for travel. A set of sophisticated cylindrical wineglasses to rival Crate & Barrel's, and to elevate your Friday wine-cheese-and-Netflix nights so instantaneously that you'll feel like an extra in one of those Shows About Rich Families Who Fight All The Time. An absolutely darling Kate Spade lunch tote at such a reasonable price point that honestly, it will be worth buying just to make your coworkers jealous alone. Let the office lunch thief TRY and take snacks out of the chic bag that everyone knows is yours! A wildly popular hummingbird projection lantern to make your porch or backyard feel like you're stepping out of the real world and into a whimsical fairy tale. A beautifully packaged, travel-friendly Touchland Glow Mist hydrating hand sanitizer for anyone who's like "mindfully practicing health and safety, but make it fashion." Unlike other sanitizer sprays, it's infused with aloe vera to keep your skin hydrated and has the most luxurious floral scents. A set of restaurantworthy shallow pasta bowls to make you feel like you're genuinely ~plating~ all your meals like a professional — this is like a bowl and a plate had a very stylish, SUPER convenient baby for all your pasta and salad needs. A gorgeous statement checkered cutting board designed with deep grooves for juice, hidden handles on the bottom, and end grain to "heal" cuts from knives. A true overachiever considering it's worth the buy for decor purposes alone!! A charming and oh-so-comfortable tennis skirt with built-in shorts — reviewers compare the buttery soft quality to Lululemon's $78 Align Skirt, and love the secret inner pocket on the shorts for stashing keys and tennis balls. A set of itty bitty vintage-inspired spoons that will just BEG to be used for all your coffee, tea, dessert, and yogurt needs. (Is it just me, or do we all have an Emotional Support Tiny Spoon?) A set of "Golden Glow" under-eye gels made with 24-karat gold collagen formulated to brighten, nourish, and soothe your under-eyes so you can get that sweet, sweet de-puffing relief (and look ~expensive~ while you're doing it). A chic structured toiletry organizer with a "window" so you can look inside and easily access whatever you need on the go. Reviewers especially love how the structure of it stops items like beauty products or medications from getting crushed inside (and that it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the $100 Truffle Clarity version). A set of flower petal dessert glasses so you can serve up little puddings, ice creams, and yogurt parfaits and decorate them with edible flowers for your Meghan Markle era. 🌸 Reviewers also use these for cocktails and juice! A cheerful fruit bowl for a pop of deeply functional color in your kitchen — this thing is secretly also a colander, so you can wash your fruit and leave 'em sitting pretty on the counter to dry. A charming set of ceramic egg trays so versatile you'll always be glad to have them on hand — these are great for fresh and hardboiled egg storage, egg decorating, *and* for a lil' twist on an solo charcuterie journey if you want to put some snacks in each little slot. A set of super absorbent pastel waffle weave dishcloths, because it's high time someone looked around and said, "Hey, what if we made the thing we use the most often in the kitchen actually LOOK good??" Thank you for your aesthetic service!!!! A fully wireless (Shark Tank–featured!) stick-on "Poplight" sconce so easy to install that you can literally just charge it up and stick it to the wall with non-damaging adhesive. It is a renter and indecisive decorator's DREAM — all the whimsy and function of a cute sconce with none of the effort!! HGTV nerds all over the world are shaking. A vintage-style six-in-one Bluetooth record player that will play *deep breath* vinyls, CDs, AND cassettes along with connecting to Bluetooth and the radio, so you can walk down every single musical path on memory lane. A sophisticated, airtight ribbed storage canister you can use to elevate everything from coffee grounds to laundry beads to cotton balls — the sky is your very chic limit. Birdie, an indoor carbon dioxide monitor that — bless her dramatic heart — will flip over and "die" if the air quality in your home goes down, prompting you to open a window or run an air purifier so you can breathe easier. Once Birdie is happy with the air quality again, she'll pop back up! A hybrid tissue box phone holder that's basically "GRWM" goals — you can prop this on your vanity to stream content, FaceTime, and even record yourself while you're getting your glam on. ✨ A trendy, adjustable slouchy shoulder bag reviewers compare to the $300 Coach Brooklyn version — it's basically all of the effortless cool and useful roominess, without the big ole price tag. In case that wasn't enough of a perk, it also comes with a free matching cosmetic bag! A set of deep set heart-shaped salad plates because sometimes the way to your heart is through a BIG OL' Caesar salad loaded with whatever flavor of crouton Trader Joe's came up with this week.
