Ballet Dramedy Etoile Will No Longer Have A Second Season
As per reports, the decision to cancel the second season comes in the wake of performance vs cost disputes.
In disappointing news for Etoile fans, Prime Video has confirmed that the ballet dramedy will not be returning for a second season. Created by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel duo Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, the show had initially been granted a two-season commitment. However, despite debuting in late April to positive reviews from both critics and viewers, the series has now been shelved.
At the time, all eight episodes were dropped simultaneously on Prime Video. It is worth mentioning that in the Palladinos' follow-up to the critical and commercial hit, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, they received an initial order for two seasons in 2023. While most multi-season orders result in multiple runs, there have also been exceptions, as there is still an evaluation process after series receive approval with contingencies built in.
According to a Deadline report, the decision came largely due to disputes over 'performance versus cost." On the other hand, it could also be attributed to the recent internal restructuring at Amazon with the former studio head's exit and Mike Hopkins taking over.
What Is Etoile About?
Said to be a passion project for Sherman-Palladino, Etoile is a story of dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies in New York and Paris. They will be seen embarking on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions by swapping their most talented stars. The show came as a deterrent for many casual viewers beyond their loyal fan base who have been following her from the iconic Gilmore Girls to Bunheads and the Emmy-winning Mrs Maisel.
While the show is currently not returning for a second season, fans can stream the first part on Prime Video.

Is Taylor Swift's New Track Ruin the Friendship About Her Rift With Blake Lively? Here's What Reports Say
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively had been the best of friends before things went south for the duo amid the actress's legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. While none of the parties have yet spoken of the issues, the fans believe that Swift's new track, Ruin the Friendship, from her new album, Life of a Showgirl, is about the trouble the duo faced in their bond. According to the sources close to the musician, they revealed that the Grammy-winning singer is still not on talking terms with Lively. The media reports suggest that the Bad Karma crooner was quite hurt after she was dragged into the legalities. Is Ruin the Friendship about Blake Lively? While the fans believed the song to be about Blake Lively, media reports stated that the musician had developed the song during her London leg of the Eras Tour, which was way before Swift was named in the lawsuit. An insider went on to claim that the actress and Taylor had 'halted' their friendship, while some other sources revealed that the duo was "taking some space" and were "no longer friends." As for the rift, it began after Swift was subpoenaed by the lawyers of Justin Bladoni, asking her to testify in court during the trials. While the Another Simple Favor star and her team tried to keep the musician out of the drama, she was ultimately dragged in, which broke the friendship. Two months after the legal matters unfolded, a source revealed that the pair is working towards getting their bond back on track, but things 'aren't the same as they were before.' Lively and Swift's friendship goes way back to 2014. The duo went on to become the closest of friends, so much so that the actress announced the singer to be the godmother of all her daughters she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds. Taylor has also featured the couple's kids in the music videos and even announced the names of the girls in her song, Folklore. Life of a Showgirl will be out on October 3, 2025.

Halle Berry Slams Ex-Husband David Justice for His Remarks on Wanting a ‘Traditional Wife'
Halle Berry claps back at her ex-husband, David Justice, days after the soccer star made comments about wanting a traditional wife. To give a befitting response, the actress took to her social media account, where she shared a carousel post and aimed it at her former partner with her caption. In the pictures shared by the actress, she seemed content and at peace, as she was seen enjoying a scenic view with her loved ones by her side. The Monster's Ball actress, who recently celebrated her 59th birthday, wrote in the caption, 'Phew…! cooking, cleaning, and mothering,' which was in complete contrast to her post. David Justice's alleged insulting comments about Halle Berry Justice made an appearance on the latest episode of All the Smoke Podcast, where he spoke about his expectations for his partner. The soccer player explained, "My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships, just wasn't vast. So I'm looking at my mom—and I'm a Midwest guy—so, in my mind, I'm thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional, you know?" As for the actress and Justice's relationship, the former partners got engaged in 1993, after dating for a few months, and later got married. However, following the trouble in their paradise, Berry and Justice called it quits in 1996 and filed for a divorce a year later. While the Oscar-winning star did not clarify the reasons for the breakup, Justice went on to share on the podcast, "Okay, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with? At that time, as a young guy — she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem motherly, and then we started having issues." Previously, the actress opened up about getting hit by a former partner, which led to her eardrum being ruptured. However, she never confessed to who it was. Currently, the actress is in a relationship with Van Hunt. The pair have been dating since 2020.
