Pink flamingo statue thief wanted — again — in Parma
PARMA, Ohio (WJW) — Police in Parma said they will hold whoever is responsible for stealing a pink flamingo statue responsible, once they catch them.
Officials said, police and the detective bureau will work together to find the person or people involved, charge them accordingly, and bring them in front of a judge.

Police report that sometime before noon on Friday, June 7, the large flamingo statue at the corner of Broadview and Snow Roads was stolen. The City of Parma Street Sign Supervisor, Brain Deyling, reported the theft.
The statue is valued at approximately $2,500. It just went up in April. Parma native, Dennis Vasko, donated $2,000 for the statue's creation in dedication to his 4-year-old granddaughter Ava, who is autistic.

The theft comes just about a year after Parma's other flamingo statue was stolen from the Parma script sign. Three men were caught on surveillance video trying to stuff the original flamingo into a trunk before ditching it. Those men were sentenced to 10 days in jail for attempted vandalism, as well as each ordered to pay a $500 fine and complete 500 community service hours.
They replaced that statue on the same day they added the statue that was just stolen from the Quarry.

According to the information in the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post, once members of the sheriff's office arrived at the scene, they discovered that the accident was a hit-and-run. Members of law enforcement also found that the second car, that was registered to Rodgers and had reported severe front end damage matching that of an accident, was abandoned nearby. Warrants issued in relation to fight after local high school graduation The post stated that the driver of the car was identified as Rodgers, who reportedly left the accident scene without stopping to offer help or information to the other person involved. Rodgers also allegedly called the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office after the accident and stated that her car was stolen before the crash, which was found to be false. Rodgers was arrested on Thursday, June 5, 2025 and taken to Southern Regional Jail, where the post stated that she will get the chance to post bond given by a Magistrate Judge. Suspect charged with Intoxication Manslaughter for Abilene man killed at Possum Kingdom Lake
PALO PINTO COUNTY, Texas () – A suspect has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in connection to the death of an Abilene man killed at Possum Kingdom Lake this weekend. Justin Pillard was booked into the Palo Pino County Jail Saturday for Intoxication Manslaughter with Vehicle then was releaed from jail after posting a $30,000 bond. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says Pillard was operating a boat when the boat's propeller struck and killed a 23-year-old Abilene man who was being pulled in a tube behind. Fraudulent OB/GYN sentenced to 10 years in prison
CHICAGO — A fraudulent OB/GYN, who pleaded guilty last summer for bilking Medicaid and private insurance, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Dr. Mona Ghosh owned Progressive Women's Healthcare, located in Hoffman Estates, and was accused of submitting fraudulent claims to Medicaid and other private insurance companies from 2018 to 2022. A total of 17 women spoke during the federal sentencing hearings, which concluded Monday morning after being adjourned on May 29. Several women told stories of how Ghosh charged their insurance companies for visits that didn't happen. Others described the unnecessary tests and procedures she performed. 'I felt like she supported me. In turn, when I'm finding the medical bills coming back for things that never happened, she fed on my vulnerability, on my weakness,' a woman said. Several women shared that they went to Ghosh for a routine pap smear, or cervical cancer screening, and were told results were abnormal. Fearful that they could have cancer, they agreed to get a biopsy. Witnesses said while they were sedated, Ghosh performed other procedures instead, including ones they said have affected their fertility. 17 women share emotional experiences during sentencing of fraudulent OB/GYN Ghosh directed her own employees to submit the fraudulent claims as well. She admitted in the plea agreement that she is accountable for more than $1.5 million. The judge Monday ordered restitution to insurance providers of $1.5 million. Restitution to the victims was ordered in the amount of $605.02. The judge explained that he could only impose restitution to patients based on actual losses for unnecessary and unwanted procedures under specific situations.
