'Football has given me more than I could have ever imagined,' Hicks wrote. 'Purpose, discipline, brotherhood, and a platform to impact others. But most importantly it showed me who I am outside the game. I'm proud of what I accomplished on the field, but even more proud of the man I've become because of it. 'To my teammates, coaches, fans, and most importantly my family.. thank you for your unwavering support throughout this journey. I'm looking forward to this next season of life and all that it brings. I walk away with peace knowing I gave football all I had, and that the best is yet to come.' Millennial Trends We Need To Leave In The Past

Everything that's being marketed to us these days feels like a remix of the past, from reboots and remakes to low-rise jeans and pop-punk revivals. If you're a millennial, you've probably already seen it all the first time when it was still considered cutting-edge. Maybe it's the rise of AI, the TikTok-fueled nostalgia economy, or just the fact that Gen Z never knew a world without social media. However, originality feels like it's gone missing. And if you've recently seen a pair of JNCO jeans in the wild or a trucker hat at brunch, you might've felt a full-body shudder. As someone considered an Unc in certain circles — and maybe I'm just grumpy and jaded — I have a sneaking suspicion a few of you feel the same way I do. For the millennials of the BuzzFeed Community, what's the trend — fashion, lifestyle, aesthetic, internet behavior — that deserves to stay buried in the past? A few come to my mind off the top: skinny jeans, am I right? I'm honestly surprised they didn't cause long-term blood circulation issues for those of us whose legs couldn't even breathe in them. And while some are attempting to make them fashionable again, it's really just a big no. Although I wouldn't be shocked if it happens again soon, I'm begging for Instagram's in-app filters to stay dead and buried. We don't need them. Let's move on. And maybe most importantly, can we let hustle culture die already? I'll give Gen Z credit: they've done a great job rejecting the grind economy, and let's hope it stays that way. We already know we're getting the short end of the stick, no matter how burnt out we get. And while we're at it, let's retire the whole "can't adult today" energy, too. We're grown. We pay bills. We're just exhausted. On that note, share the millennial trends that should remain in the past and never return in the comment section. For those who feel they have especially hot takes on the matter and would prefer to remain anonymous, feel free to fill out the form below.

‘Adorable' cat with quirky features finds love. ‘Would die for this creature'

If you look up the word 'cuties' in the dictionary, you might just see a picture of Winifred … and probably some mandarin oranges. The Illinois cat with the quirky facial features has been stealing hearts all over the internet. 'Winifred was born with some unique features, including a dermoid on her nose that makes it fluffy (there's even a couple whiskers growing from it) and an extra canine tooth right in the middle,' PAWSChicago said in a July 19 Instagram post. 'She's downright adorable.' The shelter also posted a video of probably the cutest black and white cat in the galaxy, who not only sported fierce looks but also stole some precious cuddles, which clearly she appreciated. Her facial features only heightened her snuggly nature. Of course, people in the comment section were obsessed. 'I would die for this creature,' one person wrote. 'That's a unicorn,' another observed. 'I will be waiting patiently for her Instagram to be created…' someone commented. 'She's so adorable, how (much) cuter a cat can even be omg,' one person said. The shelter wanted to make sure that these features did not affect Winifred's health in any way. 'These unexpected things don't impact Winifred's life, and are purely cosmetic. Removing them would make her go through an unnecessary surgery and recovery, and she's already perfect just the way she is,' the shelter said. It didn't take long for the beautiful girl to find a home. 'Update: Adopted!' the shelter noted in the post. For information on other adoptable pets, visit the shelter's website.
