
Saudi Theater Commission launches its Work and Learn Project in UK
LONDON — The Theater and Performing Arts Commission announced the launch of the third edition of the Work and Learn International Track project, selecting 25 theater trainees to attend a four-week training program at Production Park in London from April 21 to May 16, 2025.
The project aims to develop their practical skills in artistic fields such as lighting, sound, set design, costume design, and theatrical performance management. It aims to foster local talent by integrating it with international expertise and introducing them to advanced, global techniques through working on shows that utilize modern technologies.
The training program will conclude with a comprehensive theatrical performance performed by the trainees, both male and female, in collaboration with the production team.
This is a practical step toward applying what they have learned in an experience that combines training and production. This initiative is an extension of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission' strategy to empower national talent, develop the sector's infrastructure, and transfer the latest international practices and expertise to the local market.
This will enhance the competitiveness of Saudi theater and enable trainees to acquire the modern skills required by the labor market in the fields of theater and performing arts.The Theater and Performing Arts Commission is concerned with all types of performing arts: theater, dance, circus performances, improvisational comedy, street performances, movement performances, ballet, and opera. It's also includes activating theaters, ensuring the quality of the content presented, encouraging abundant production, and spreading the culture of performing arts so that it becomes a fundamental component of national culture.Production Park, the industry-leading hub where global tours are rehearsed and productions brought to life, is making its most significant investment yet with a major expansion of its facilities. By 2025, the campus will grow to a remarkable 145,000 square feet of state-of-the-art studio space, solidifying its position as the largest production studio campus in the North of England.

Agreement signed to establish and operate passenger train station in Zulfi
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Deputy Emir of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Railways Company (SAR) Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish and operate a passenger train station in the Zulfi governorate. The agreement was signed between the Saudi Railways Company and the Cooperative Society for Logistics Services in the Riyadh Region in a ceremony held at the deputy emir's office in Al-Qasr Al-Hakam in Riyadh on Monday. Governor of Zulfi Saleh Al-Rafie, CEO of the Saudi Railways Company Dr. Bashar Al-Malik, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Society for Logistics Services in the region Mohammed Al-Qashami also attended the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the deputy emir praised the qualitative development leaps witnessed by the Riyadh region within a short span of time. "At present, Riyadh has become the capital of political decision-making, a global economic center, and a tourism capital, hosting major events such as the 2027 Asian Cup, Expo 2030, and the 2034 World Cup," he said. The railway station project is one of the pioneering projects in which the non-profit sector contributes to achieving development. This agreement will add a new passenger station in the Zulfi governorate, making it the seventh station on the Northern Railway network, which departs from Riyadh towards Al-Qurayyat, passing through Al-Majma'a, Al-Qassim, Hail, and Al-Jouf. This will enhance railway transportation services and provide advanced and effective solutions for the mobility of the people in the governorate.

Al-Falih: Tadawul to carry out feasibility study on operating Damascus Stock Exchange
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih said that the Tadawul (Saudi Stock Exchange) has launched preparations for a comprehensive feasibility study on establishing and operating a Damascus Stock Exchange. Speaking at the opening of the Saudi-Syrian roundtable in Riyadh on Monday, Al-Falih noted that there has been significant progress in several recently signed agreements and memorandums with Syria. He emphasized that the Ministry of Investment seeks to overcome economic challenges and obstacles in Syria. Al-Falih said the ministry supports a private-sector proposal to establish a fund-of-funds for Saudi investments in Syria. "This is aimed to create a structured and well-governed investment framework to serve the shared objectives of both countries, as well as to boost the growth and sustainability of joint investments at an accelerated pace, and deliver exceptional investment outcomes with financing volumes that meet required needs," he said. Al-Falih said that the real estate sector projects signed during the Saudi-Syrian forum have entered the phase of implementation and expressed hope to see them materialize soon. The minister emphasized Saudi Arabia and Syria are working to establish a safe and sustainable investment environment that supports investment cooperation and enhances confidence between investors in both countries.
