Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari has participated in the launch of 'All of the Gulf is One Nation' campaign, a unified media initiative led by the GCC General Secretariat.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the rights and entitlements enjoyed by GCC citizens across all member states, reflecting the spirit of shared Gulf citizenship.
Commenting on the launch, Al Kuwari said it 'reflects the spirit of cooperation among GCC countries and helps raise awareness among Gulf citizens of their rights and opportunities in various fields'.
Meanwhile, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi said the campaign 'embodies the vision of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC in building a unified Gulf system based on the principles of justice and equality'.
'It reflects a firm commitment to strengthening Gulf brotherhood and consolidating the foundations of unity and integration among our peoples.'
The campaign highlights the equal opportunities and benefits available to citizens of the GCC states across various economic and social sectors. These include the freedom of movement and residence, the right to engage in economic and investment activities, and access to healthcare and education services without discrimination—all of which contribute to a shared sense of belonging and a unified Gulf identity.
The campaign was officially announced during the 123rd meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, held on Sunday in Kuwait. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment of the State of Kuwait Engineer Noora Sulaiman Al Fassam, with the attendance of their excellencies the ministers of finance and economy from the member states, along with the participation ofthe secretary-general of the GCC.
The media campaign will run for six months across all GCC countries as part of a comprehensive media strategy aimed at reinforcing the concept of Gulf citizenship, showcasing the tangible achievements, and increasing awareness of the rights and opportunities available to citizens under the framework of comprehensive GCC cooperation.

DOHA: Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE DrAbdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie has affirmed that the State of Qatar is strengthening its global role in addressing growing environmental challenges, most notably plastic pollution, and strongly supports the path to sustainable development. He pointed out that World Environment Day represents an important international occasion to renew collective commitment to protecting planet Earth and promoting the concept of environmental sustainability. In press statements on the occasion of World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 of every year, he said that the theme of this year 'Putting an End to Plastic Pollution,' reflects the importance of unifying international efforts to combat this phenomenon, calling for a just international agreement aimed at reducing plastic pollution, taking into account the circumstances of developing countries and their rights to development. He pointed out that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is implementing a package of policies and initiatives to reduce plastic pollution, as part of its commitment to the principles of sustainable development and achieving a better environmental quality of life for current and future generations. The ministry is also continuing its efforts regionally and internationally in compliance with multilateral environmental agreements, he noted. The State of Qatar is working on developing an infrastructure that supports recycling operations by sorting waste at the source, collecting it, processing it, and converting it into reusable products, with the goal of reducing dependence on natural resources and enhancing their efficient use, he added. Dr Al Subaie also pointed out that, in this context, the ministry launched several initiatives in this regard, including encouraging investment in the establishment of specialized recycling centers and developing legislative and regulatory frameworks to ensure the sustainability of these operations, in cooperation with various government and private entities. In regard to joint international action, he highlighted the State of Qatar's active participation in the sessions of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) for a legally binding international instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment, pointing out that Qatar presented its vision at the fifth session held in 2024 in Busan, South Korea, during a side event on ending plastic pollution. During the event, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change emphasized the importance of enabling developing countries to access modern recycling technologies, which will enhance environmental justice and contribute to achieving the goals of the anticipated international agreement. Prior to this session, the ministry organized a regional meeting in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), during which representatives of the GCC countries participated in the meeting to discuss the proposed wording of the legal instrument, DrAl Subaie said, adding that a unified Gulf position was prepared, which was later adopted as a joint Arab position. He also pointed out that the ministry has implemented several projects in cooperation with international bodies, including the international Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to develop environmental monitoring programs and monitor plastic particles in the marine environment, as part of the regional project 'RAS7038.' The Minister of Environment and Climate Change concluded his statements by reiterating Qatar's commitment to implementing its national and international environmental pledges, in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030, by promoting sustainable environmental policies, supporting environmental innovation, and expanding international partnerships. GCC hails Qatar's efforts to broker Gaza ceasefire
QNA Kuwait The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) hailed the strenuous efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar, in close coordination with its mediation partners, mainly the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America, to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages, and ensure the unfettered entry of life-saving humanitarian aid. The Council stressed the imperative of bringing the Israeli aggression on the Strip to an end and called for extending full-fledged political and diplomatic backing to reach an enduring and comprehensive resolution. The final communique, issued after the 164th Session of the GCC Ministerial Council, convened on Monday in Kuwait, reaffirmed the GCC's unwavering position in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and underscored the urgency of alleviating their protracted suffering. The Council called for an immediate end to the Israeli-imposed blockade, the full opening of all border crossings to facilitate the unhindered entry of humanitarian and relief aid, as well as essential supplies, and the guaranteed, uninterrupted delivery of these necessities to the civilian population across the Strip. The Council condemned the announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities regarding the establishment of an agency aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, affirming its unequivocal support for the resilience of the Palestinian people on their territories.
