How to watch NBA draft lottery: Can Sixers keep top 6 protected pick?

The Philadelphia 76ers finished 24-58 in the 2024-25 in an extremely disappointing season when considering the championship expectations entering the year. The Sixers had a big 2024 offseason highlighted by the addition of 9-time All-Star Paul George, but nothing worked out the way they wanted to.
After finishing with the fifth-worst record in the league, the focus shifts to the draft lottery on Monday night. The Sixers have a top 6 protected pick which means they have to land somewhere in the top 6 to keep their pick or else it goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the Al Horford trade from 2020.

NBA Makes Major Tre Johnson Announcement

NBA Makes Major Tre Johnson Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The 2025 NBA Draft is filled with lots of talent, and is headlined by Duke Blue Devils phenom Cooper Flagg, who is the presumed No. 1 pick. Advertisement The Dallas Mavericks had a shocking win in the draft lottery, and jumped 10 spots to have the right to select Flagg with the No. 1 pick, bringing hype back to Dallas after the Luka Doncic trade. The NBA has announced that they have invited 13 players thus far to the NBA Draft green room, where top talent will appear with the chance to walk across the stage in the first round. Among the 13 is Texas Longhorns star guard Tre Johnson, who is a projected top five pick in the draft. Texas Longhorns guard Tre Johnson (20).Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images Being one of the few current invitees to the green room is a huge honor for the young guard, who looks to translate his explosive scoring to the NBA. Advertisement Should Johnson remain a top five draft selection, he would be the fifth Longhorn to go in the top five of the draft, joining Tristan Thompson, Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, and LaSalle Thompson. Texas has not had an NBA Draft selection since 2021, where they saw three players make the jump to the big leagues in Kai Jones, Greg Brown, and Jericho Sims. In CBS Sports' most recent mock draft, Johnson winds up going No. 3 overall to the Philadelphia 76ers, making him the highest drafted Longhorn since Durant going No. 2 in 2007. Johnson is counting down the days for his next stage in his basketball career to begin, and Longhorn fans will be tuning into the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday June 25 to see him walk across the stage in Brooklyn, New York. More NBA Finals: Blockbuster Trade Idea Sees Lakers Move Two Key Pieces For $46M Star Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday was a doozy. It saw the Pacers mount an incredible comeback in the fourth quarter, which allowed them to steal home-court advantage and take a 1-0 series lead. There was much hype heading into Game 2, but the Thunder took care of business in front of their home crowd and ran away with the game. While the Thunder and their fans saw a game that didn't come down to a nail-biter, it didn't help the NBA's cause. Game 2 of the Finals on Sunday averaged 8.76 million viewers, marking the lowest viewership since Game 2 of the 2020 Finals and the only Finals since 2007 where viewership declined after Game 1. "Sunday's Pacers-Thunder NBA Finals Game 2 averaged 8.76 million viewers on ABC, down 29% from Mavericks-Celtics (12.31M) and the least-watched Game 2 of the Finals since the Heat-Lakers in the fall 2020 "bubble" on the night the president was hospitalized due to COVID (6.78M). Outside of that anomalous circumstance, it was the least-watched since Cavaliers-Spurs opposite the series finale of "The Sopranos" in 2007 (8.55M)." According to Sports Media Watch, this year's NBA Finals between the Pacers and Thunder mark just the second time in the Nielsen people meter era where neither Game 1 nor Game 2 surpassed the nine million viewer mark. Although the numbers may not show it, these NBA Finals have been worth watching. Game 2 was not pretty for the casual fan, but Game 1 was an instant classic that saw the Pacers, as they've done all season long, come back and steal that contest. The series will now shift to Indiana, where the Pacers will look to take advantage of homecourt and feed off the crowd's energy. The Pacers head into Wednesday's Game 3 as the home underdogs. Per ESPN Bet, the Thunder enter Game 3 as 5.5-point favorites. The Pacers have embraced the underdog role throughout this entire postseason, and by now, it's nothing new to them. Friday will mark Indiana's first NBA Finals home game in 25 years. Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton reveals how Rick Carlisle took him to ‘another level'

The post Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton reveals how Rick Carlisle took him to 'another level' appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Indiana Pacers have been on a heater throughout the playoffs, as the team is fighting for a title against the Oklahoma City Thunder right now. Point guard Tyrese Haliburton has emerged as a true superstar, and on Tuesday, he gave all of the credit to head coach Rick Carlisle. While talking with media members after practice, Haliburton claims that Carlisle's coaching took his game to 'another level.' The 25-year-old point guard credits Carlisle for believing in him and giving him the confidence to play at the highest level. 'When he gave me that nod, that was the ultimate respect… For him to give me that confidence, I think, has really taken my career to another level… Our relationship is going to continue to grow.' Tyrese Haliburton has been arguably the most clutch player in the league throughout the postseason. We've seen him lead the Pacers to multiple late-game comebacks while hitting amazing buzzer-beaters to either tie or win the game. His emergence very well could be credited to Rick Carlisle, who has been a great head coach throughout his career in the NBA. The two-time All-Star is leading the way for the Pacers in this year's playoffs, even though teammate Pascal Siakam won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP Award. Tyrese Haliburton has averaged 18.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc through 18 games played throughout the postseason. Tyrese Haliburton will have a chance to improve upon those numbers when the Pacers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Game 3 tips off on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. EST. It's the first contest of the seven-game series in Indiana. So, Haliburton and his teammates will have the opportunity to compete in front of the home crowd in this one.
