Sadia Khateeb makes her action debut in Omung Kumar's Silaa. Opposite Harshvardhan Rane, she promises intensity, emotion, and a bold new avatar.
After making waves with The Diplomat, actress Sadia Khateeb is all set to surprise fans with her fierce new avatar in Omung Kumar's upcoming film Silaa. The film, which also stars Harshvardhan Rane, marks a significant milestone in Sadia's career as she takes on her first action-oriented role—one that blends power, passion, and emotional intensity.
The makers recently unveiled the character poster featuring Sadia in a raw, unfiltered look—far removed from the gentle, understated characters she's known for. With Silaa, she embraces a side of herself that audiences haven't seen before: gritty, unapologetic, and battle-ready.

'I am beyond grateful and extremely thrilled to be getting on this journey," said Sadia, expressing her excitement about stepping into a role that demanded physical strength as much as emotional nuance. 'Thanks to the visionary director Omung sir who could see me playing his Silaa. I just want to give my bestest to his vision. I hope I am able to deliver what's beyond expected. Silaa is a very beautiful story and the way it has been created by Omung sir—it will be a treat to watch for the audience. Sir is creating magic and the entire team is extremely hardworking. I'm looking forward to this journey."
Directed by Omung Kumar, known for films like Mary Kom and Sarbjit, Silaa promises more than just adrenaline-pumping sequences. It's a story rooted in emotional stakes and compelling character arcs, where action is just one layer of a deeply human narrative. With Harshvardhan Rane cast opposite Sadia, the film brings together two actors ready to explore uncharted creative terrain.
Beyond Silaa, Sadia Khateeb has also completed a comedy film alongside Neetu Kapoor—marking yet another genre leap. With back-to-back projects that showcase both intensity and charm, Sadia is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting and versatile actors of her generation.

Fans Urge Authorities To Convert RD Burman's Childhood Home Into Museum, Launch Petition

Last Updated: Fans of SD and RD Burman urge authorities to convert their neglected Kolkata childhood home into a museum. Despite appeals, the house remains in disrepair. Music lovers are coming together to save a piece of history, that is, the childhood home of legendary composers SD Burman and RD Burman in Kolkata. The house, located at 36/1 South End Park, has fallen into a state of neglect. Fans are now urging authorities to convert it into a museum. To push for action, a group of fans has launched an online petition that has already gathered over 7,000 signatures within a week. They believe that the house should be preserved as a cultural landmark. 'This house is not just brick and mortar — it echoes with melodies that shaped Indian music. Instead of being lost to time, it deserves to be turned into a living museum, a cultural space that honours their genius and nurtures future talent," the petition says. Back in January 2021, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had renamed the road outside the house to 'Sangeet Sarani", and there were talks of turning the property into a museum. But according to family members, nothing came of those plans. RD Burman's uncle, Abhijit Dasgupta, shared his disappointment in a conversation with The Telegraph. 'We were promised a museum. We were told a blue plaque would be installed. In 2021, they even renamed the street Sangeet Sarani. But nothing beyond symbolism has happened." He also questioned, 'If the Ministry of External Affairs can offer help to restore a Ray-linked building in Mymensingh, why can't our own state protect this house steeped in musical history?" When asked about the petition, Swapan Samaddar, Member, Mayor-in-Council (Environment & Heritage), said, 'I have not received any such petition. If I do, I'll take necessary steps." He added that he wasn't in charge of the heritage portfolio back in 2021. But fans are not giving up. Dasgupta, who started the petition, said firmly, 'This time we're determined to see it through." RD Burman was one of the most celebrated music directors in Indian cinema. Active from the 1960s to the 1990s, he composed music for over 330 films and played a big role in shaping the sound of Hindi film music. Burman worked closely with some of the biggest singing legends like Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Mohammed Rafi. He also shared a special creative partnership with lyricist Gulzar/ Rahul Dev Burman was the only son of renowned composer Sachin Dev Burman and lyricist Meera Dev Burman. Laughter Chefs Season 2 Winner: Karan Kundrra And Elvish Yadav Beat Aly-Reem To Take Home Trophy

Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav win Laughter Chefs Season 2 and reflect on the journey. Laughter Chefs Season 2 Winner: In a grand finale hosted by Bharti Singh, Laughter Chefs Season 2 came to a close with Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav lifting the trophy, while the runner-up spot went to Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh, who received diamond stars. The finale buzzed with excitement as fans cheered for the unlikely winning pair. This season was full of surprises – from unexpected entries to funny moments and emotional scenes. Krushna Abhishek brought nonstop laughs, while Sudesh Lehri added his classic humour. Aly Goni and Nia Sharma returned with great energy, Rubina Dilaik owned her space, and Vicky-Ankita's playful fights became a fan favourite. With Bharti Singh's jokes and Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi's cooking tips, every episode served up fun and food. Karan and Elvish made a strong team. Their Mexican dish was so good, Chef Harpal saluted them during the episode – something that had never happened before. Elvish improved in the kitchen, while Karan kept things entertaining with his yoga moves and jokes. The duo earned the most golden stars and took home the title. Karan Kundrra, reflecting on his win, said, 'Coming back for Season 2 turned out to be one of the most special experiences I've had in a long time. There was a kind of ease on this set that's hard to describe – no pressure, no overthinking, just people genuinely enjoying themselves. I felt like I was returning to a family that missed me. . I joined mid-season, had zero prep, and suddenly I was in this high-pressure kitchen with Elvish, who operates on pure instinct and jugaad, and somehow, it just clicked. What's precious to me is that this journey with all its fun, flaws, and flavour sends a simple but powerful message: that everyone can cook, and everyone should. Because food isn't about perfection, it's about connection." Elvish Yadav, on wrapping up the season with a win, shared, 'When I entered Laughter Chefs, I thought it would be a fun break – a few laughs, some kitchen disasters, and then back to regular life. But this show had other plans. From the very first week, it pulled me into its vibe. And when Karan and I teamed up, it was an instant vibe match. We never overplanned, we just showed up, had fun, and stayed real. Kitchen was a new territory for me, but this journey taught me so much. I now have a very different appreciation and respect for those who cook regularly. What stands out for me is that my mom got to witness all of it: the mistakes, the growth, the final win."
