Werder Bremen among those interested in former Manchester United prospect
Fabrizio Romano reports that Werder Bremen are among the parties interested in former Fulham and Manchester United man Maxi Oyedele. The Bundesliga outfit has plenty of competition for the Legia Warsaw midfielder, who is available via a €6m exit clause in his current contract.
Man United sold Oyedele to Legia in August 2024, but were rumored to secure a generous re-sale clause for themselves. Transfermarkt reports that the English Red Devils will receive 40 percent of any sale involving Oyedele.

The England-born Oyedele has enjoyed success since moving to the country he's opted to represent internationally. The 20-year-old has pumped up his estimated market value from €300,000 to €4m in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Bremen aren't necessarily known for making large purchases, but – thanks to some investor backing – are expected to make some signifiant outlays in the summer transfer market.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski says he'll no longer play for Poland while Michal Probierz is coach
WARSAW, Poland — Robert Lewandowski will no longer play for Poland while Michał Probierz remains head coach, the Barcelona striker said. The 36-year-old Lewandowski, who has played a record 158 games for his country and is the leading scorer with 85 goals, cited tiredness from a La Liga title-winning season with Barcelona for pulling out of last Friday's 2-0 friendly win over Moldova and Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Finland. Probierz subsequently named Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zieliński as the new captain. The Polish soccer association said: 'Piotr Zieliński has been named the new captain of the national team by head coach Michał Probierz. The coach personally informed Robert Lewandowski, the entire team and the coaching staff of his decision.' Lewandowski replied with a post on X: 'Taking into account the circumstances and the loss of trust in the head coach of the Polish national team, I have decided to step down from playing for the national team for as long as he remains in charge. I hope I will still have the chance to play again for the best fans in the world.' Lewandowski suffered an injury to his left thigh on April 19 in a La Liga match against Celta Vigo and was sidelined for two weeks. He missed four games, including a thrilling 3-3 Champions League semifinal first leg against Inter in Barcelona. He recovered in time for the second leg and was used as substitute in a 4-3 defeat that sent Inter to the final. Poland leads World Cup Group G qualifying with two wins from two games. ___ AP soccer:

Mike Maignan gives AC Milan ultimatum amid Chelsea pursuit
Mike Maignan (29) wants to complete a move to Chelsea. As per L'Équipe, the France No.1 has told AC Milan that he will not be renewing his deal with the club. There is therefore an ultimatum: sell me now, or lose me on a free transfer in 12 months' time. As per Fabrizio Romano, there has been a considerable gap in the goalkeeper's valuation. Chelsea believe that, given Maignan's contract situation, he is worth just €10. AC Milan, meanwhile, value him at €30m. The Italian journalist has since reported that a €15m offer was submitted, whilst reports in Italy have even gone so far as to state that an agreement has been reached. Whilst L'Équipe refute these reports, they do nonetheless state that a deal is on the right track and a deal could soon be struck, which would allow the goalkeeper to join Chelsea ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. The transfer deadline before the Club World Cup is on Tuesday. Time is therefore of the essence if a deal is to be completed ahead of the inaugural tournament. GFFN | Luke Entwistle

€45M Rated Man United Star Has Opened Up To Inter Milan Transfer
Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has opened up to a transfer to Inter Milan this summer. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the two clubs are in talks, with United seeking a €45 million fee. Advertisement It is certainly no secret that Inter Milan are keen to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United. The Nerazzurri have identified the Danish international as their top target in attack. It may have been two difficult seasons for Hojlund at Old Trafford. However, Inter still rate the 22-year-old very highly on the basis of his performances for Atalanta in the 2022-23 season. (Photo by) According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Rasmus Hojlund himself is open to the idea of joining Inter this summer. The Nerazzurri approached the Dane's representatives to make their interest clear. And they got a positive response. Advertisement This was the green light for Inter to start talks with Manchester United over the striker. On the other hand, Rasmus Hojlund did publicly downplay the links yesterday. He stated that he 'still expects to be playing for Manchester United' next season. However, the Gazzetta reports, this was just Hojlund being professional. The negotiations between Inter and United still have a ways to go. Therefore, the Dane would hardly openly talk about the possibility of a move to Inter. But behind the scenes, the Gazzetta report, Hojlund has very much opened up to the prospect to a Nerazzurri switch. Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, there is still work to do in talks between Inter and Man United. The Red Devils want a fee of around €45 million for Hojlund. But more than the fee, the two clubs are negotiating the structure of a deal, with Inter still aiming for an initial loan deal.
