South African actress, Simphiwe Ngema, affectionately known as Simz Ngema, has joined the list of celebrities who have undergone cosmetic surgery to enhance their features.
Ngema, who did her surgery on July 27, shared on her social media accounts that she is doing a 'mommy makeover' in Turkey with Mono Clinic, a popular cosmetic clinic among SA celebrities.
According to The Cosmetic Surgery Institute, a 'mommy makeover' is a combination of cosmetic surgeries which is done to address body changes after pregnancy and help achieve a more defined appearance.
These surgeries include a tummy tuck for a flatter stomach, breast procedures to improve size or lift and liposuction for stubborn fat.

Ngema has two children, 5-year-old Tiyani and 6-month-old Kaboentle, whom she shares with Tino Chinyani.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the former 'Muvhango' actress has been updating her fans on her recovery journey since she underwent the procedure.

On Monday, June 30, she shared: 'Day 4 of recovery: I'm feeling so much better. 3 of my drains are empty since yesterday. There's only one drain that had to be emptied. Still a little uncomfortable.
'You know when you've slept on your arm for a long time and it feels numb? That's what my tummy feels like. My boobs are fine. I'm starting to feel a bit of sensation on my nipples."

The mother of two, accompanied by her mother, Ethel Ngema, has also been sharing some of her pictures wearing compression garments, which help the healing process after the procedure.

JACKIE PHAMOTSE In 2023, Jackie Phamotse was found guilty in a high-profile defamation case brought against her by celebrity couple Basetsana Kumalo and her husband, businessman Romeo Kumalo. The legal saga originated from a controversial tweet posted by Phamotse in 2018, where she made allegations insinuating the existence of a compromising video involving the Kumalos and another male figure. Phamotse was sentenced to a two-year house arrest and was fined R30,000 for defamation. ARTHUR MAFOKATE According to The Citizen, the court agreed with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) that musician Arthur Mafokate could not show how he purchased properties and cars without a National Lottery Commission grant he had requested for R9.3m. The grant was meant to provide unemployed youth in poor and rural areas with skills in the entertainment industry; instead, R7.5m was used to purchase a guest house, La Villa Rosa in Midrand. During the court proceedings, Mafokate argued that the funds were necessary to help deliver the required services. JOHNNY DEPP AND AMBER HEARD Depp's ex-wife and actor Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse, which she detailed in a 2018 Washington Post essay. Depp denied all allegations and instead claimed that it was Heard who was violent towards him. He filed a suit against her for defamation, for which she filed a countersuit alleging the same. Clips of the trial went viral on social media. The Stellenbosch University Choir was invited to participate in the Grand Prix of Nations and was the only choir representing South Africa and Africa. Dance schools in countries that host a DWC qualifier can only apply to enter the DWC Finals through their respective country's qualifier. I merely facilitate that process by asking relevant questions. What are your thoughts on what unfurled in season 5 compared to season 4 of RHOD? Season 5 took me by surprise. I didn't expect the drama to reach the level that it did. I thought the new ladies were going to take some time and settle in. Little did I know. What shocked you the most this season? I honestly did not expect the drama between Minnie and Londie to escalate to the level that we saw. With the pressure that the cast experienced about what they wear, do you think the members embodied the expectations of the show this season? It is always weird to me when the conversation about classism and opulence creeps up on Real Housewives in South Africa. The whole premise of the show is rooted in glamour and opulence around the world. We tune in to see expensive houses, cars, jewellery, trips, lunches, etc. The clothes are part of that expected opulence.
