Ex-girlfriend seemingly rips Bailey Smith to shreds: ‘Good riddance'

Perth Now19 hours ago
The ex-girlfriend of Bailey Smith has seemingly torn the AFL superstar apart with a stinging rant on her podcast.
Content creator Izzy Armitage didn't use Smith's name, but suggested that the 24-year-old heart-throb cheated on while in Adelaide for a football game, and that he had put her 'through the f****** wringer 100 times over'.
7NEWS is not suggesting any of the accusations are true, merely this is what Armitage said on her podcast Hear Me Out.
Armitage opening up on her past relationship comes just days after Smith's love life has been suddenly thrusted into the spotlight, following a close encounter with fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow on the Gold Coast.
Witnesses claimed they saw Hembrow and Smith holding hands and kissing for hours, while another report said they were seen together again after Geelong defeated Essendon last Friday.
Armitage said: 'Obviously I was previously tied to him and it is going to be something people are aware of and a lot of the time it's my search history. Fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith have set tongues wagging. Credit: Instagram
'But I'm not out here regularly constantly making videos about this man.
'I spent a really long time trying to protect him in the sense of not being fully open on here about what he'd done to me. And how it all went down. Just because there is still that level of respect for someone you loved. When did I get any of that respect back even when we were together?
'The gloves are off. Game on.'
She also said she had been told that Smith believed that she was using him for 'clout'.
'It's been a really long time and I just want people to know it's not (about) clout for me, it's more just this is my experience of what I went through and, honestly, I think it plays a huge part as to why I'm still single,'' she said.
She said she wanted 'everyone to know that boy put me through the f****** wringer 100 times over ...
'Because I'm an empathetic person, they could just cry and apologise and you put it up to mental health (issues), them being in a bad place, and you're like, 'It's OK, I forgive you.' Because someone you love is convincing you of all these things.
'The manipulation was on a level I've never had.
'I'm like he's in a bad place, that's why he's done these things. OK I'll try again.'
And after friends convinced her that Smith had cheated on her in Adelaide, she said he heart sank and 'it's very much in denial at this point'. Smith and Armitage were once a loved-up item. Credit: Instagram
'I could have probably just believed it at that moment in time, but I'm so in love at this point, I need more (time) to allow myself to believe this,'' she said.
'In hindsight never in my life growing up did I think I'd be in a relationship where I would potentially accept someone cheating on me until you're faced with it head on.
'It's a really scary moment for me that I wasn't as strong as I thought I was.
'(My friends) didn't want to tell me or call me because they know I would freak out.
'(I said to him), 'You f****** cheated on me,' (and) he's like, 'No I didn't'.
'It ends up being a 'me' problem. The way it ends up being spun, I'm in the wrong here, I ended up probably ... apologising. He just got angry, it was a sh**show, he ends up crying …'
She said he would claim that people lied about him 'all the time'.
'In my heart of hearts I didn't (believe him) but I didn't know what to do and I didn't yet know in that moment whether I was ready to let it go.'
Armitage said she had gone through 'two really hard relationships' where her partner was not loyal to her.
But she said she kept her dignity.
'Never once have I named the guy. Even now I'm still not saying his name,' she said.
'Even now all the submissions I get are what happened between you and so and so. That is constant and always will be.
'I only have so much give in me before I snap. After what I've done for that guy, there you go. That is exactly how it went down. This makes no difference in my life. Good riddance, wish you the best.
'Moving forward I have learnt so much in those relationships and I believe I will not make the same mistakes again. Everyone was like why would you date him. I knew him as kids, we grew up together. I've known him for so long, it's going to be different. It never is.'
Smith has had a history of mental health issues.
'It's (mental health issues) obviously very topical at the minute, and I think always is in sport and life in general. So it's good that we're starting to shed more light on it, even though it's probably coming to the floor because of some pretty tragic stuff happening,' Smith said in May this year.
'I've worked on myself a lot to where I sought out some professional help; I still see my psych to this day ... but yeah, it was a pretty tough time, especially when you've got (the) media burning some of your relationships, even though they shouldn't be burnt, and continue to be burnt.
'I wouldn't change anything (and) how it all happened, but it was a pretty lonely period (when he went through rehab after an ACL injury).'

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. Carlton kicked off the AFLW's 10th season on a perfect note with a comfortable 24-point win over arch rivals Collingwood. The Pies started the night strongly with the first two goals, but the Blues would kick six of the next seven to cruise to victory at Ikon Park, 6.9 (45) to 3.3 (21). Mimi Hill starred for the Blues in the midfield with a game-high 32 disposals and Erone Fitzpatrick bagged two goals as Carlton opened its account with a win in a campaign captain Kerryn Peterson will miss due to the birth of her first child. 'They'll be really pleased with the electricity of their footy,' Herald Sun reporter Lauren Wood said on Fox Footy. 'Particularly without their captain. (Photo by James Wiltshire/AFL Photos via Getty Images) 'Naturally when you're without your skipper, you would have that sense of unknown. But led by Mimi Hill, they were pretty seamless without her.' Former AFLW Carlton coach Daniel Harford said Hill was 'allowed to do whatever the hell she liked' and 'took full advantage of that'. 'Really set the game alight, she was enormous,' he said on Fox Footy. Harford also praised Carlton's 'slick' ball movement, but noted Collingwood 'had no answers' in a disappointing start to the season for last year's wooden spooners, who have dropped 13 of their last 14 games. 'There's a few questions about the Magpies on the back of that and what they're trying to do and look like,' he added. 'They didn't show too much tonight, sadly for Magpies fans.' Collingwood fans had one moment in particular to cheer about, with No. 1 pick Ash Centra kicking her first goal with her first disposal in the second term. But further souring the loss for the Pies was Irish rookie Kellyann Hogan's night ending prematurely due to a shoulder issue. Darius Campbell Danesh' ex-wife remembers him on third anniversary of death

Darius Campbell Danesh' ex-wife, Natasha Henstridge, has paid tribute to the late singer on the third anniversary of his death. The former Pop Idol contestant passed away at the age of 41 in August 2022 after inhaling chloroethane - also known as ethyl chloride - at his Minnesota apartment. Three years on from the tragedy, the 50-year-old Canadian actress - who filed for divorce from the Colourblind hitmaker in 2013, after just over two years of marriage - has admitted she still misses him dearly. Alongside a series of pictures of Darius, including one of the couple posing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, she penned on Instagram on August 11: "Love and light always. Miss you today…. Sending love to the Danesh's and everyone whose life he touched." According to his girlfriend, Darius had been "living with a broken neck" and an undiagnosed heart condition when he died. Lauren Cheek explained that an autopsy revealed that his heart was "twice the size" it should have been and that she believes he used the recreational anaesthetic to alleviate the pain. She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Darius was living with this heart condition that he didn't know he had. So many things could have taken him, but this one thing did, and he died in his sleep. "His mum told me they only found out after they did the autopsy. His heart was twice the size it was supposed to be, which was fitting, because that is genuinely how he was — he had so much love. "The autopsy also found he was living with a broken neck, but he refused to get help or complain about it. I think he used (chloroethane) because he was in so much pain and he didn't want to take pills, not even aspirin. That's what killed him — the substance mixed with his heart and he couldn't take it." Lauren went on to add that Darius - who shot to fame when he gave a memorable rendition of Britney Spears' hit '...Baby One More Time' on the ITV talent show Popstars before releasing a string of hit singles and eventually going on to star in the West End - had sustained his injuries whilst racing with Hollywood actor Gerard Butler and always "refused" when she urged him to see a doctor. She added: "He was with Gerry (Butler) in Monaco for the Grand Prix and they slammed into a wall during a race with the Prince of Monaco. I don't think it ever fully healed and then he rebroke it because he got hit by a car in London a year or two before he died when he was riding a bike. "And then he got into a car accident with his dad in Scotland. D was in the passenger seat, his dad was driving and someone drove into them. "He was always in pain and I would beg him to see the doctor, but he refused. He was trying to find a natural remedy.'

Bindi Irwin gives emotional health update after endometriosis surgery

Bindi Irwin has had her appendix and '51 endometriosis lesions' removed. The 27-year-old Australian star — the daughter of late Crocodile Hunter legend Steve Irwin — has given an update amid her long battle with endometriosis following her diagnosis in 2023, which came after a decade of chronic pain. She wrote on Instagram this week alongside a smiling selfie: '13 years of fighting for answers. '51 endometriosis lesions, a chocolate cyst, and my appendix were all removed across two surgeries with @seckinmd. 'My hernia from giving birth that was unzipping — was taken care of. 'I can FINALLY say that I'm feeling better. Genuinely healing.' Endometriosis is a disease where abnormal tissue grows outside the uterus. Irwin underwent emergency surgery in May, which meant she missed a gala honouring her father, who died in 2006. Now, she added that after her health struggles — which she's been very candid about with fans — she's finally able to 'function' again. 'I cannot express the gravity of my emotions as I am beginning to recognise myself again. 'I felt utterly ashamed as a teenager and young adult being told that my pain was just part of being a woman. 'I felt lesser. I felt hurt. I felt weak. That is not OK.' The conservationist and activist — who has daughter Grace Warrior, four, with husband Chandler Powell — is keen to get rid of the 'stigma' around conversations about women's health and health care. Bindi missed her late dad's annual gala in May after rupturing her appendix, and her brother Robert explained her absence at the time. He told People magazine: 'She's going to be OK, but surgery — out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them. She's just come out the other side of endometriosis and now the appendix goes. Health is so important — it really is.'
