Following her modelling career, Tanushree entered Bollywood and marked her acting debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in the 2005 release, Aashiq Banaya Aapne. The actress gained immense spotlight owing to her intimate scenes with her co-star, and people still remember her as the 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne girl.' She is also known to have shared screen space alongside Akshay Kumar in Bhagam Bhag and Tusshar Kapoor in Dhol.
After her appearance in a few Hindi projects, the 41-year-old landed her Tamil debut Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai. Directed by Thiru, it hit the big screens in 2010 and featured Vishal, Sarah Jane-Dias, and Neetu Chandra in pivotal roles. Tanushree was last seen in the show SuperCops Vs Super Villains back in 2013. Later, she moved to the US and took a break from the Bollywood industry.

In one of her earlier interviews, Tanushree was asked is she still dated the filmmaker, she replied, "I'm boringly single. It's been almost seven months since I've been in touch with Aditya."
Talking about marriage, she called it a sacred bond. Revealing why she is single, yet, she remarked, "I have always known what I want in my family dynamics, in my friendships. I have clarity, so people like me remain single for a long time till there is something very deep or concrete."

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 5: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's film headed for ₹150 crore mark
Ever since the release of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut film, Saiyaara, comparisons with Aashiqui 2 have been inevitable. Interestingly, both romantic dramas are helmed by filmmaker Mohit Suri. Now, in a major milestone, the YRF-backed Saiyaara has officially surpassed the worldwide lifetime earnings of Aashiqui 2. As per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned ₹ 25 crore on Day 5. While there was a slight dip in daily earnings, these are dynamic figures based on morning, afternoon, and evening show data, and the overall trend remains strong. So far, the film has collected Rs132.25 crore at the domestic box office. After a massive opening weekend, Saiyaara has held steady during weekdays, with consistent footfalls at theatres. Morning Shows: 29.90% Afternoon Shows: 52.31% Evening Shows: 56.96% Night Shows: 71.94% Delhi NCR and Mumbai continue to lead in terms of show count and audience turnout. Meanwhile, strong performance was also noted in tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh. Internationally, the film is also showing impressive momentum. On Monday, Saiyaara reached ₹ 151 crore in global collections. This includes an India Net Collection of ₹ 107.25 crore and an Overseas Collection of ₹ 23 crore. Its India Gross Collection stood at ₹ 128 crore by Day 4. With this, Saiyaara has crossed the lifetime global collections of Aashiqui 2, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, and is now the fifth Hindi film of 2025 to enter the ₹ 150 crore club. It has also overtaken the earnings of Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 ( ₹ 144 crore), which released earlier this year. Shraddha Kapoor recently watched Saiyaara in theatres and couldn't hold back her emotions. She shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, writing, 'Saiyaara se Aashiqui ho gayi hai mujhe' (I've fallen in love with Saiyaara). Reacting to her post, Ahaan Panday shared a touching response: 'Working under you on Rock On 2, being assigned to fix your piano, the serendipity of assisting on a rock music film, to getting to be a part of one… I remember you taking out the time to speak to me for a few seconds, and your words weighing heavy on me.' He added, 'You made me feel seen at a time when very few did, in such a small short conversation—and that's why you're magic. The makers of Shahid Kapoor's next have reportedly decided to stick to the original release date of the upcoming film, despite major competition from Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar and Prabhas' much-anticipated The Raja Saab. There is no intention of altering the film's release, setting the stage for a massive three-way showdown. Times Now has quoted the Bollywood Hungama report, which mentions that there is no change in the release date of Shahid Kapoor's next. The portal reported a source close to the development as saying, 'It was the makers of Shahid Kapoor's next that took the December 5 slot first. The filming is going on at a steady pace and the film has shaped up well. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is confident of the product and doesn't feel the need to move from the date that he was the first one to reserve." But still an official confirmation is awaited. On Ranveer Singh's birthday, the makers dropped first look of Dhurandhar. The actor, in long hair and a smoke in his mouth, kills and beats in style, like it's no task. With upbeat music in the backdrop, the film offers a glimpse into the violence and gore in store. Apart from Ranveer, makers have also dropped first looks of the film's other leading cast, comprising Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna. Arjun Rampal, who is one of the key characters in the film, looked intriguing in a never-seen-before rugged avatar, sporting a golden tooth, vintage metallic shades, dense grey beard and classic raw expressions. In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the actor spoke about his prep for the show, his character read more It's hard to make political thrillers without taking sides. But what if a filmmaker decides to essay the aftermath of a tragedy that shook the nation? Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor and Applause Entertainment's The Hunt is one such show that chronicles what happened after how it happened. Amit Sial, who plays D.R. Kaarthikeyan (IGP CRPF), offers a remarkable and restrained performance. He's fresh off the success of Raid 2. In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, the actor spoke about his prep for the show, his character. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Edited excerpts from the interview How did you prepare for this role? Luckily, there was enough material online, to sort of go through, to get the demeanour, his personality, the way he thinks, the way he talks. All of those things are right. And there's this one specific interview where he's talking about his line of work and the services that he's provided, as an IPS officer and the services he provided while investigating for this particular case. He was a chameleon, so he mostly would converse in English or Tamil. But because you're making a Hindi show, so then to just make it look a little authentic, I had to sort of attach a slight twang to my Hindi because I have a very specific North Indian Hindi, dialect diction. And, so all of these things are just a regular preparation that goes into playing a character, plus the added responsibility of being being very particular about playing a character game because he's a real life person, and it's a real life incident. And then, obviously, I had an amazing help from my director, Nagesh Kukunoor. And the script also was so tight and detail oriented that a lot of help, came from the script itself. What fascinated you about this particular story, and how much were you aware about this entire incident that happened in 1991? The incident itself, just to be a part of this whole story and the lead investigator and, trying to track the case was in itself, a big eye opener and just a privilege to be a part of, something like this. And, yes, I was very much aware of the incident because I was 16 when it actually happened. And when you're 16, you're mature enough to understand these things. Not not so much in detail, though, as, probably I know now. But, over a period of time, I kept reading about, the involvement of entity and trying to understand both sides and all of that. It's a very important series for especially Gen-Z because a lot of them would probably not know about this incident, and, I hope it's an eye opener for them also. What did you take back from participating in a story that is inspired by true events? I don't know what I would take back. I'm just just to be a part of something like this, it sort of fills you up. It sort of it takes you into places within your own self where you probably have never never ventured before.
