Ever since the release of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut film, Saiyaara, comparisons with Aashiqui 2 have been inevitable. Interestingly, both romantic dramas are helmed by filmmaker Mohit Suri. Now, in a major milestone, the YRF-backed Saiyaara has officially surpassed the worldwide lifetime earnings of Aashiqui 2.
As per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned ₹ 25 crore on Day 5. While there was a slight dip in daily earnings, these are dynamic figures based on morning, afternoon, and evening show data, and the overall trend remains strong. So far, the film has collected Rs132.25 crore at the domestic box office.
After a massive opening weekend, Saiyaara has held steady during weekdays, with consistent footfalls at theatres. Morning Shows: 29.90%
Afternoon Shows: 52.31%
Evening Shows: 56.96%
Night Shows: 71.94%
Delhi NCR and Mumbai continue to lead in terms of show count and audience turnout. Meanwhile, strong performance was also noted in tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh.
Internationally, the film is also showing impressive momentum. On Monday, Saiyaara reached ₹ 151 crore in global collections. This includes an India Net Collection of ₹ 107.25 crore and an Overseas Collection of ₹ 23 crore. Its India Gross Collection stood at ₹ 128 crore by Day 4.
With this, Saiyaara has crossed the lifetime global collections of Aashiqui 2, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, and is now the fifth Hindi film of 2025 to enter the ₹ 150 crore club. It has also overtaken the earnings of Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 ( ₹ 144 crore), which released earlier this year.
Shraddha Kapoor recently watched Saiyaara in theatres and couldn't hold back her emotions. She shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, writing, 'Saiyaara se Aashiqui ho gayi hai mujhe' (I've fallen in love with Saiyaara).
Reacting to her post, Ahaan Panday shared a touching response:
'Working under you on Rock On 2, being assigned to fix your piano, the serendipity of assisting on a rock music film, to getting to be a part of one… I remember you taking out the time to speak to me for a few seconds, and your words weighing heavy on me.'
He added, 'You made me feel seen at a time when very few did, in such a small short conversation—and that's why you're magic. Maybe a little glimmer of that magic spilled onto me and that's why the universe allowed me to have this moment.'

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Box Office Collection Day 2: Pawan Kalyan movie sees 75% dramatic drop after HHVM boycott calls

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Box office collection Day 2: Pawan Kalyan starrer made a thunderous start but could not retain the opening day momentum on Friday, as earnings nosedived 74.71 percent. The pan-India Tollywood film, released in multiple languages failed to make significant earnings not only from the Hindi speaking belt but also from Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam screenings. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Hari Hara Veera Mallu did a business of ₹ 8.79 crore net in India on Friday, making significant drop from Day 1 earnings. The movie opened to ₹ 34.75 crore net at the domestic box office a day after it earned ₹ 12.75 crore from premiere shows. Summing up 2-day earnings, Sacnilk reveals that the Telugu movie minted ₹ 56.29 crore net. Pawan Kalyan's career best opener disappointed on Friday following dwindling footfalls and registered an overall 24.42% Telugu occupancy. The historical epic, set in in 1684, was released in theatres on July 24 and emerged as one of Pawan Kalyan's highest-grossing openings. Krish Jagarlamudi and A M Jyothi Krishna directorial action-adventure film was reportedly made on a massive budget of ₹ 300 crore. Since the premiere of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, hashtags like #BoycottHHVM and #DisasterHHVM were trending online. Addressing the controversy at a success meet in Hyderabad, Pawan Kalyan said, 'I come from a small place in Nellore. It's great that I am where I am today. I don't know my worth. However, the confirmation of my success comes from people when they want to boycott my films.' The movie has drawn marked criticism from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which has strongly opposed the movie claiming that it spreads anti-Muslim sentiments using a made-up story. Produced under the banner Mega Surya Production, the film features Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sunil Varma, and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 8: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's movie is now inches away from ₹200 crore milestone

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 8: After an exceptional first week, Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has continued its dream run with a rock-steady hold at the Indian box office for week 2 on Friday. With an opening week collection of ₹ 172.75 crore, the Mohit Suri directorial is the second-highest Week 1 grosser of the year, only behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. 'No one – not even in their wildest dreams – could have imagined Saiyaara shaking the industry with its phenomenal numbers, day after day,' said film trade analyst Taran Adarsh for the 'epic blockbuster'. In mere eight days at the theatres, Saiyaara is now just inches away from achieving the ₹ 200 crore milestone, which several Bollywood biggies like Sitaare Zameen Par couldn't achieve in over a month on the big screen. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara witnessed a minimal (5.26%) drop from its Thursday earnings on Friday. However, showing a 'remarkable consistency,' the movie was able to mint ₹ 18 crore on Day 8 as it is headed towards its second weekend. The movie is expected to drop just 15–20%, which is still a remarkable hold. With this, Saiyaara has earned a total of ₹ 190.75 crore in 8 days. The movie is set to cross the ₹ 200 crore milestone on Saturday, Day 9. With little to no competition at the Hindi box office, Sacnilk estimated that Saiyaara's second weekend collection will be in the range of ₹ 70 crore net, which would be a record for a romantic drama and one of the biggest second weekends ever. If the momentum holds, there is a chance of Saiyaara touching the ₹ 250 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, a monumental benchmark for a movie led by fresh faces. This dream run is expected to continue for Saiyaara till at least August 1, before the release of Dhadak 2. On Day 7, Saiyaara collected ₹ 250.5 crore globally, of which it earned ₹ 43.5 overseas. Its gross collection in India stands at ₹ 207 crore. Saiyaara is a romance-drama about Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a budding musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), a shy writer. Through their relationship, the film explores love, loss, and drama.

ETimes verdict The Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen starrer opened up positive reviews from the audiences. ETimes rated the film with a solid 4 stars out of 5 and a an excerpt from our review reads, "Amidst all the noise and gags, though, Thalaivan Thalaivi finds moments of quiet, moving emotions. In one scene, Aagasam, tired of all the fights, breaks down in front of his father. In another, a mother posts a WhatsApp status of her child, hoping her estranged husband sees it. When someone sees the family fight for a whole day, they say, 'Inum ivanga mudikalaya,' and you feel that too. However, Thalaivan Thalaivi becomes one of the very few Tamil films that dig into the life after marriage, something after the beginning of the seemingly 'Happily ever after,' and Pandiraj has crafted a fun, frustrating family padam." The film is expected to mint more numbers in the coming days.
