TV duo Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer 'don't socialise' ever
Location, Location, Location stars Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer have revealed they rarely spend time together off-camera.
Kirstie, 53, and Phil, 55, have presented the Channel 4 property programme since 2000, in addition to spin-off Relocation, Relocation between 2004 and 2011.
The presenter did not know each other before their 25-year-long TV partnership, but were called in by the broadcaster for a screen test due to their respective careers as property searchers.
Despite being a TV host duo for more than two decades, Kirstie admitted the pair 'don't socialise' because they 'work so much together.'
Yet they were quick to quash any suggestion of bad blood, explaining they were 'great friends.
Phil told The Telegraph: 'We're very, very fond of each other. There's no one else who's been through this experience. I put Kirstie among the most important people in my life.'
In agreement, Kirstie added: 'Ditto. In the most significant parts of our lives, we've been there for each other. I think Phil was one of the first people I ever told I was pregnant.'
In 2020, Kirstie revealed how much they were paid when they were first offered Location, Location, Location.
It originally started as a half-hour slot, with the duo helping one person find their dream home before moving on to an hour slot with two couples.
In the early days, Kirsite and Phil received a £600 pay cheque each per day of filming.
She previously told The Guardian: 'They offered us £600 each for a day's filming, which was a lot of money. The idea was to shoot at weekends so we could keep our businesses going.'
Kirstie also revealed that her 'biggest mistake' when she first started filming was wearing her own clothes.
'I had a red leather coat with a huge zip, but this meant I got recognised more than I'd like. When we started, it was a more innocent time. I don't think I could have made the series if social media had been around then,' she continued.
The mum-of-two even made the rookie mistake of giving house-hunters her phone number – which has led to people ringing her when they were drunk.
Phil also lifted the lid on some secrets, including the staggering number of pubs they have visited. More Trending
He added: 'I think we've filmed in every county in the UK and helped keep the pubs going because at the end of every show we'd usually end up discussing the deal in one. I reckon we've been to about 2,000 pubs over the years.'
And despite their strong friendship, Phil admitted they do bicker over pub choices.
Poor Phil went on to add that his biggest humiliation during the show was when he was attempting to find two women a flat in London – and while he was trying to 'big' up the area, a policeman told them that someone had just been murdered around the corner.

EXCLUSIVE I went to an exclusive sex party at a sprawling mansion in the countryside. From a dedicated BDSM chamber to wild group sessions, this is what it's REALLY like... and the shockingly normal people who attend
It felt as though I was walking through a live re-enactment of 50 Shades Of Grey. While one woman dripped candle wax over her naked breasts as a couple looked on, another, dressed head-to-toe in PVC with a long black braid, cracked her whip and led spectators through rooms containing various eye-popping paraphernalia. Welcome to a high-end sex party, where couples get to explore their hedonistic side, as far away as possible from the humdrum school runs and grocery shops of their daily lives.

Steph Waring admits 'I lost my s**t' as she recounts 'hysterically crying, shaking and begging' as she got sacked from Hollyoaks after 28 years in 'frantic' meeting
Stephanie Waring has recalled 'hysterically crying, shaking and begging' when she was sacked from Hollyoaks. The actress, 47, starred in the Cheshire soap on Channel 4 for 28 years from 1996 to 2024. Hollyoaks was hit by stringent budget cuts last year and cut down from five to three instalments a week, letting go of staff too. Stephanie's character, Cindy Cunningham, was axed by bosses and the star has delved into how she reacted in her book, Breaking The Script. She recalled how she had a meeting with two producers who broke the news to her by reading a written statement. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The star described how she struggled to process what was being said to her and as it sank in, she felt emotional at the departure of her beloved character. She wrote, 'But as the statement neared its close, before the final words were even spoken, I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I was shaking as I looked at the two of them.' 'Then it happened. 'And with that said, we will be losing Cindy from the show. I'm so sorry, Steph.' The world stopped for a second as I replayed those words in my head. Then… I lost my s***.' She was particularly heartbroken that her staple character would not be featuring in the big anniversary special. Stephanie went on to write, 'What? No! You mean you're not taking me to the 30th?' I blurted out, referencing the upcoming anniversary of the show – a milestone that meant so much to the long-standing cast. 'I don't understand. No, I don't understand. I don't understand!' I was frantic. 'But I've been so loyal. Please, no. This is my life. I love my job – please, no!' She described how she was 'hysterically crying' and added: 'I repeated myself, hoping one of them would see my distress and take it all back. Had they made a mistake? My world felt like it was imploding.' She signed her new contract which started from April 27 and her character departed in July. However, the short notice made her feel like she 'had swallowed a grenade' and she admitted to 'a few expletives rolling off my tongue like bullets'. Afterwards, she ran out of the room and found comfort from Kirsty Leigh Porter and Jennifer Metcalfe, who starred as Leela Dexter and Mercedes McQueen in the show. Since leaving the soap, Stephanie has gone on to become a 'certified mind-body coach', according to her social media. Her new book, Breaking The Script, was released earlier this week.

TV sports presenter reveals hospital health battle after ‘horrific' comments about her weight when she appeared on Formula One coverage
TV sports presenter Lee McKenzie has spoke out after being targeted by online trolls who made 'horrific' comments about her weight. McKenzie is a regularly presenter on both Channel 4 and the BBC and has worked on a variety of sports including F1, rugby and equestrian. The 47-year-old made an appearance for the broadcaster's coverage of the Spanish Grand Prix - in which Oscar Piastri claimed his fifth victory of the season - on Sunday. However, McKenzie's return was met by online trolls who commented on her physical appearance on the day and now the Channel 4 presenter has revealed that she had been struggling with 'health issues' in recent weeks. Taking to Facebook, she wrote: 'I've been thinking about whether I should post this but I will as it's not just about me, it's for all women and men too. 'Last month I went into hospital for an operation and I've been struggling with some health issues for a while now. 'As you see on here I'm a private person and I post about my work, not too much about life outside of work. I don't need or want attention or validation. 'But the comments about my appearance and weight at the Spanish Grand Prix have been horrific. I've had to turn off comments on my social media. It's worth saying they came from women and men alike. 'If you don't like what someone wears or looks like on television, feel free to think about it but why send it to them? Why contact someone to be deliberately rude? 'I'm a journalist and I'm good at my job and I'm furious that this affects me. But it does and there will be people out there getting similar abuse that are not as strong as me. Don't do it. 'The good news is that a larger operation that I thought I was going to get isn't needed at the moment and things can be treated with medication. Many people have this. It's not about being unwell. It's about the vile comments from women and men commenting on my appearance. 'My health is improving and I'm back at the gym. For me. Not for anyone else. Think before you write to someone'. The post has since been 'liked' by over 25,000 Facebook users and 22,000 of her Instagram followers. Accompanying the posts was a picture of McKenzie while at a previous F1 event and a selfie from the hospital bed - where she pose with a smile and a thumbs up. Elsewhere on the day, a dejected Lewis Hamilton made a brutal Ferrari admission after finishing sixth at the Spanish Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion is still waiting for his first podium since joining the Scuderia from Mercedes and was lost for words after his misery in Barcelona . Hamilton came home in seventh but was bumped up one place after Max Verstappen careered into George Russell , an incident which saw him demoted down to 10th. Unable to keep up with the two McLarens and Verstappen, Hamilton was told to let Charles Leclerc pass him early in the race, giving his team-mate a leg up as he went on to finish third, and he was overtaken by Nico Hulkenberg on the penultimate lap.
