US Fitness Star And Her Date Killed By Estranged Husband In Shocking Attack: Report
A fitness influencer, Gloria Zamora, 40, and her date, Hector Garduno, 43, were allegedly shot and killed by Zamora's estranged husband in Fontana, Southern California, on Saturday, according to police.
Police discovered Zamora and Garduno in a parking lot outside a sushi restaurant, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The estranged husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, was later shot and killed by an off-duty police officer, authorities said. The incident is under investigation.
"There was a male and a female that were estranged; they were going through a divorce, which led to this," Officer Steve Reed with the Fontana Police Department told ABC News.
"We don't know how he knew where she was, but apparently, she had been at the restaurant for approximately an hour prior to the shooting," Reed said.
The shooting caught the attention of several off-duty law enforcement officers in the area who responded to the sound of gunfire, including an off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy.
"Apparently, he was driving on the street outside the shopping centre and heard the gunshots and saw what had happened, made a U-turn at the light, and got out of his vehicle and confronted the suspect," Reed said. Lizarraga was shot and killed during the confrontation.
The victims, fitness influencer Gloria Zamora, a mother of seven, and Hector Garduno, a father of four, leave behind grieving children. Zamora, divorcing her husband, had over 150,000 Instagram followers. Garduno is remembered as a devoted and hardworking father. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to support Garduno's family.

The body of 22-year-old Nikita, who hailed from Rikhabdeo and living in Udaipur, was discovered in a blood-soaked state in a room at Hotel Casa Gold. According to police, she had been killed by her boyfriend, Vijay Bhoi, who repeatedly slammed her head against the wall. Blood was scattered throughout the room due to the violent nature of the attack. Following the murder, Bhoi reportedly attempted to die by suicide by cutting the veins of his hand. Unable to endure the pain, he fled the scene and admitted himself to the hospital. This tragic love story began on Instagram and ended in Hotel Casa Gold in the Hiran Magri area of Udaipur. According to the police, Nikita and Bhoi met on Instagram, where their relationship blossomed. However, Nikita's family learned of the relationship and arranged her engagement to another person, prompting her to cease communication with Bhoi. SP warns public against clicking on APK file links
Kurnool: District Superintendent of Police, Vikrant Patil on Tuesday issued a stern warning to the public not to click on or download APK (Android Application Package) file links being circulated through WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, SMS, and other platforms. He stated that cybercriminals are employing new tactics to deceive users, and opening such links could result in immediate hacking of WhatsApp and mobile phones, leading to severe financial and personal losses. Explaining the modus operandi through a press release on Tuesday, SP Vikrant Patil said cyber fraudsters are sending malicious APK links disguised as delivery updates, refund links, digital KYC updates, bank rewards, E-challans, PM Kisan documents, and free gift offers. Once a user downloads and installs these files, the app requests access to sensitive permissions like SMS, contacts, storage, call logs, and notifications. With this access, the criminals can completely control the phone, steal OTPs, banking details, and even siphon money from accounts. In more serious cases, the fraudsters gain access to a user's phone camera and microphone, collect personal data such as videos and audio recordings, and use them for blackmail. Vulnerable groups like the elderly, people with disabilities, students, unemployed youth, farmers, and online shoppers are being particularly targeted in these attacks. SP Patil urged the public to be extremely cautious and avoid interacting with any unknown or suspicious links. The district police advise everyone to only download apps from trusted platforms like the Google Play Store, review app permissions carefully, never share banking or UPI credentials, and uninstall suspicious apps immediately. Victims of such frauds should call the National Cyber Helpline at 1930, file a complaint at or report to the nearest police station.
