Should Investors Hold or Fold Oracle Stock at a P/E Multiple of 36.7X?

Yahoo2 days ago
Oracle ORCL stands at a critical juncture as its stock trades at a price-to-earnings multiple of 36.7 times, significantly above its historical average of 26.8 times over the past decade, and the Zacks Computer-Software industry average of 35.32x. While the software giant's aggressive pivot to cloud infrastructure and AI has driven impressive growth, the elevated valuation raises important questions for investors contemplating their next move in 2025.
Cloud Momentum Versus Rich Valuation
The company's transformation from traditional database software to a cloud infrastructure provider has yielded remarkable results. Oracle reported fiscal 2025 fourth-quarter revenues of $15.9 billion, representing an 11% year-over-year increase, with cloud infrastructure revenues surging 52% to $3 billion. CEO Safra Catz projects even more aggressive expansion ahead, forecasting cloud infrastructure growth to accelerate from 50% in fiscal 2025 to more than 70% in fiscal 2026. This momentum has attracted major clients, including Meta and Chinese retailer Temu, while partnerships with the Cleveland Clinic and the UAE's G42 for AI healthcare platforms demonstrate Oracle's expanding reach beyond traditional enterprise software. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for fiscal 2026 revenues is currently pegged at $66.6 billion, suggesting growth of 16.02% from the year-ago quarter's reported figure. The consensus mark for fiscal 2026 earnings is pegged at $6.73 per share, up 0.1% over the past 30 days.

The company's involvement in the high-profile Stargate AI infrastructure initiative alongside OpenAI and SoftBank further validates its strategic positioning in the artificial intelligence revolution. Oracle plans to invest more than $25 billion in capital expenditures in fiscal 2026, more than triple its fiscal 2024 spending of $7 billion, reflecting management's confidence in sustained demand.Despite these growth catalysts, Oracle's current valuation presents a compelling case for patience. The stock's forward P/E ratio has expanded dramatically from its recent lows, now trading at levels not seen since the dot-com era. At 36.7 times earnings, Oracle commands a premium valuation that exceeds the sector average by a considerable margin. This elevated multiple leaves little room for error, particularly if growth rates fail to meet management's ambitious projections or if broader market conditions deteriorate.

Cloud Market Competition and Stock Performance
Oracle faces formidable competition in the cloud infrastructure market, where Amazon's AMZN AWS commands 30% market share, Microsoft's MSFT Azure holds 20% and Alphabet GOOGL-owned Google Cloud captures 13% in second-quarter 2025, per recent data from Synergy. While Amazon continues dominating through AWS scale advantages, Microsoft benefits from seamless enterprise integration, and Google leverages AI expertise, Oracle differentiates through competitive pricing and superior database integration. The company's recent partnerships with OpenAI and involvement in high-profile projects suggest that Oracle can carve a profitable niche despite trailing Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in absolute market share.Shares of Oracle have gained 52.3% so far this year, outperforming the Zacks Computer and Technology sector's growth of 14.6%. Shares of Microsoft, Google and Amazon have returned 25.6%, 7.4% and 0.9% year to date, respectively.

Strategic Position for Patient Investors
For existing shareholders, holding Oracle stock appears prudent given the company's strong competitive position and robust growth trajectory. The recent 25% dividend increase to 50 cents per share quarterly provides additional income while investors wait for the growth story to unfold. The company's remaining performance obligations of $138 billion offer substantial revenue visibility, supporting the long-term investment thesis. However, new investors might benefit from exercising patience. Oracle's fiscal third-quarter results in March 2025 disappointed investors when the company missed analyst expectations, demonstrating that execution risks remain despite favorable long-term trends. The stock's poor year-to-date performance suggests market participants are already recalibrating expectations. The combination of accelerating cloud growth, strategic AI partnerships, and massive infrastructure investments positions Oracle well for the future. Yet at current valuations, the stock offers a limited margin of safety. Investors should monitor upcoming quarterly results closely, particularly cloud infrastructure metrics and cash flow generation, to assess whether the premium valuation remains justified. For now, existing shareholders should maintain positions while prospective buyers await more favorable entry points that better balance Oracle's undeniable growth potential with valuation discipline. Sale: These Yaber projectors are at record-low prices!

Kaitlyn Cimino / Android Authority The weekend is upon us, and I have had a rough few weeks. I am getting ready to chill and catch up on my favorite movies and TV shows. Of course, I'll be using my projector. After planning this, I realized two of our favorite consumer projectors are currently at record-low prices, so I thought I would share the deals. Buy the Yaber T2 Outdoor Projector for just $233.98 ($116.01 off) Buy the Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema for just $134.98 ($65.01 off) Both of these offers are available from Amazon as 'limited time deals.' The deal on the T2 model applies to the Standard version and the Camouflage model. The L2s discount is available for the Misty White and Charcoal White iterations. Yaber T2 Outdoor Projector Yaber T2 Outdoor Projector Yaber T2 Outdoor Projector See price at Amazon Save $116.01 Limited Time Deal! This is the model I actually own, and I paid more than you will if you take advantage of this deal. The main reason I picked it is that this one is actually portable, as it has a built-in battery that can run the device for 2.5 hours. That's not all the Yaber T2 Outdoor Projector has going for itself, though. The rest of the experience is really nice considering the low price! Remember, projectors were still considerably expensive just a few years ago. The Yaber T2 can project up to 120 inches! It also features a Full HD resolution and 450-lumen brightness. It looks great in medium to low lighting. It also comes with surprisingly good 8W JBL-powered speakers. This was a pleasant surprise, as projectors tend to have horrible speakers. These actually get pretty loud and clear. Of course, you can upgrade to any dedicated Bluetooth speaker if you want high-quality audio. Kaitlyn Cimino / Android Authority The cool thing about the integrated speakers is that you can also use them in audio-only mode, so it pretty much doubles as a speaker. You'll even get a much better battery in audio mode, extending it to 18 hours. My only real complaint is that it has no integrated smart TV operating system. That said, this is a super affordable projector, so I can't get too picky. It does have a USB port for local playback and an HDMI port. This means you can plug anything into it, including a smart TV dongle. I use a Chromecast with Google TV, and it works great, but Yaber sells its own for an extra $52.99. I absolutely love my Yaber T2. If you want to get one, it has never been cheaper than today. Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema See price at Amazon Save $65.01 Limited Time Deal! Now, if you want to save money, the Yaber L2S Home Cinema is just $134.98. That is an impressively low price for a good projector. I'm still in awe of how good it is for the cost. Now, how good is this projector compared to the Yaber T2 listed above? The only downside is that it does not have an integrated battery. This means you'll have to plug it in to use it. However, this may not be an issue for many of you, especially if you want to use it indoors all the time. It's still pretty small and portable, so you won't have any issues taking it to the office, someone else's house, etc. Our friends at have reviewed the Yaber L2s Home Cinema. They mention it isn't as impressive as expensive models, but for the price, the value you get is impressive. Regarding specs, we're looking at a little projector that can display an image of up to 150 inches. It also has a Full HD resolution, and the brightness is actually better at 700 lumens. Additionally, it has the same 8W JBL-powered dual speakers, so the sound quality will still be pleasant. Just like the T2, this one has no integrated smart TV OS. It does have that HDMI port, though, so you can get whichever dongle you prefer. All things considered, the only thing you're sacrificing is the battery. If you're OK with that, you're saving a bit over $100 bucks by going with the Yaber L2s! Make sure to act quickly if you've made up your mind on either of these Yaber projectors. Again, these are record-low prices. These deals don't come often, and they usually don't last long. Follow

China's booming bubble tea industry faces a test: Is it here to stay or just a fad?

Bubble tea may have started as a playful drink, but it has grown into an industry worth billions. The global bubble tea market size will grow from $2.83 billion in 2025 to $4.78 billion by 2032, according to a report from Fortune Business Insights. This year, three Chinese bubble tea chains — Mixue Group, Guming Holdings and Auntea Jenny — listed in Hong Kong, and raised more than $700 million as investors bet on China's fast-growing consumer market. "This is the right place at the right time," said William Ma, chief investment officer at Grow Investment Group, said in an interview with "CNBC Explains." "A lot of global investors are trying to invest in sectors less sensitive to the U.S. tariffs. So domestic consumption, younger generation consumption, is a more stable or less vulnerable sector," Ma added. Mixue has emerged as the sector's heavyweight, operating more than 46,000 stores worldwide by the end of 2024. That makes it the world's largest food-and-beverage chain by outlet count — ahead of McDonald's, Starbucks and Subway. Its ultra-low pricing and high-volume model lean heavily on franchising. "In 2024, they are growing at around 22% in terms of new store growth," Ma noted. Franchising is central to the bubble tea industry. Most large bubble tea chains don't run the shops themselves. Nearly every outlet is franchised. Parent companies earn from supplying ingredients and equipment, and collecting fees, while franchisees shoulder the costs of rent, labor and utilities. That model fuels rapid growth but comes with trade-offs: maintaining quality and avoiding store cannibalization gets harder as outlets multiply. "The normal payback period for the business owner, for the franchisee, is between 18 to 24 months," said Ma, estimating store closure rates at roughly 20% across the market. But overseas expansion is no guarantee of success. CNBC's China reporter Elaine Yu noted that replicating the domestic formula abroad comes with added challenges. "Supply chains are harder to control, and consumer tastes differ from city to city. That's why brands are adapting to regional flavors and different store formats to win over local customers," Yu said. Market saturation at home, rising costs and intense price wars are also testing the resilience of these brands. Whether they can sustain their valuations will depend on their ability to balance scale with profitability — and prove they can build more than just a fad.

The Echo Show 15 transformed my busy family's schedule, and I'll never look back

My wife and I are expecting a new addition to our family in October. With less than two months to go, that means a lot of appointments — at least one every two weeks — on top of the normal amount of meetings, deadlines, and other tasks on our schedule. With so much to do, it can be tough to know when either of us is free. The Echo Show 15 has become a keystone to our daily lives, and I can't imagine how we would operate without it. The Amazon Echo Show 15 has long been a fun kitchen gadget that we used to play music or bring up a recipe video, but it has since been elevated to a digital butler. I connected our calendars to the device, so now we can both see when something is coming up. That means any appointments my wife has listed are shown, and she can easily tell if I have a meeting on a given day. Recommended Videos I joke that my wife is the keeper of the calendar; when someone tries to make plans with me, I tell them to go through her. She knows our availability better than I do. On top of that, the Echo Show 15 helps us stay on top of day-to-day chores. If you have never experienced pregnancy before, the last few months before the baby arrives — especially when it's your first one — are chaotic, filled with things you have never before planned for. In our case, it seems as though every spare moment goes into getting the nursery ready, and there aren't that many moments to spare. That means we don't want to make unnecessary trips to the grocery store. Whenever my wife and I are cooking and run out of an ingredient, we can just say, 'Alexa, add (blank) to the shopping list.' This has greatly reduced (although not completely eliminated) the number of times I have to run to the store for something small that we forgot to buy. Whiteboards are a thing of the past Of course, it wouldn't be home ownership without random tasks popping up, right? Just this week, that has included repairing a cabinet door that fell off its hinges, calling the pest control company because of an influx of joro spiders, taking one of the cats to the groomers, and meeting with someone interested in purchasing an old desk. I'm the kind of person who forgets about something if it isn't right in front of him, so anything I need to take care of goes on the to-do list. It's my lifeline. The Echo Show 15 makes it easy to list out those things, too. 'Hey Alexa, add 'call pest control' to the to-do list.' It's useful for when I'm busy with other things or I happen to notice something that needs my attention, like a flickering light bulb. 'Alexa, add 'replace hallway bulb' to to-do list, and add 'light bulbs' to shopping list.' And this just scratches the surface of the Echo Show 15. I could set up individual profiles for each member of the family, and it would display that person's schedule and lists only to them through the use of facial recognition. With only two of us at the moment, it's easier to keep things grouped together — but when our kid is old enough to need their own setup, I might reconsider. It's a digital photo frame When not in use as a way to keep track of our busy lives, the Echo Show 15 has a mode called Photo Frame that rotates through a series of stored images. I filled it with family photos, wedding pictures, and dozens of random pictures of our cats (obviously). It's given a much more homey feel to the kitchen, and we can glance up and see a different image every thirty seconds. It also makes for a conversation starter whenever we have guests over. The Echo Show 15 has a lot of different applications. I use it to set multiple timers while cooking, a fact that has inadvertently led me to prepare dinner much faster and finish cooking each component at the same time. It can also help with recipes, taking you step-by-step through a new dish without the need to touch the display at all. In the morning, the Echo Show 15 is an easy way to check the weather, get a quick news brief, or my most common use, 'Alexa, turn on the lights.' It might not seem like much; after all, everyone handles tasks like this, right? As it turns out, those small, mundane things take up a lot more time than you might expect, and my Echo Show 15 has saved me countless minutes. And besides saving time, it means I can more easily stay on top of things without breaking my flow. If I'm in the middle of a task, I don't want to interrupt myself to write down a note or shift my focus elsewhere. Voice commands make it easy to issue commands in passing without dominating much mental bandwidth, and when you already feel scatterbrained, that's a lifesaver. The Echo Show 15 has proven useful enough over the past few years that I'm considering upgrading to the larger Echo Show 21. The built-in widget menu offers even more functionality on top of what it already offers, and it's the kind of smart device that I can honestly say makes a huge difference in the day-to-day.
