The billboard, spotted near Los Angeles' Sound City Studios where the album was originally recorded, features the iconic cover art of a topless Nicks and Buckingham alongside their names and the date Sept. 19 — a likely nod to the record's roots.
Adding to the speculation, Nicks and Buckingham shared matching Instagram posts last week featuring lyrics from Buckingham Nicks cut 'Frozen Love.' Nicks posted, 'And if you go forward…' while Buckingham followed with, 'I'll meet you there,' completing a line from the song's chorus.
Though neither artist has officially confirmed the reissue, a now-removed page for Buckingham Nicks briefly appeared on Rhino Records' website over the weekend, further suggesting an announcement is imminent. Parade reported the URL still exists, even though the cover art was taken down.
The original Buckingham Nicks album was the duo's only release as a pair before joining Fleetwood Mac in 1975. It's been out of print for decades and has never received a digital or vinyl reissue. Bootleg versions have circulated among fans for years, and there's now hope the new release could include bonus material like alternate takes or live recordings—including a famed early version of 'Rhiannon.'
While some fans are holding out hope for a joint tour, others speculate about a full Fleetwood Mac reunion—though Nicks previously revealed that the band wouldn't continue without Christine McVie, who died in 2022.
Nicks previously said that the last time she spoke to her former bandmate and boyfriend was at McVie's memorial. 'The only time I've spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,' she previously told Rolling Stone. 'I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.'
The tease also comes on the heels of Fleetwood Mac's 50th anniversary celebrations earlier this month, where Mick Fleetwood wrote on Instagram: 'It's magic then, it's magic now. What a thrill, what a thrill.'
As of now, representatives for Rhino Records have declined to comment. Fans will have to wait until Sept. 19 to see whether Buckingham Nicks finally gets its long-overdue re-release.

The price tag behind the government's sale of Wu-Tang Clan's Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album has been revealed. PleasrDAO, a crypto collective, is the current owner of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin after purchasing the album through an intermediary. The New York Times reported in 2021 that PleasrDAO paid an 'equivalent of $4 million in a cryptocurrency tied to the dollar' for rights to the elusive project. Last year, PleasrDAO turned the album into an NFT, which allows the public to donate $1 and hear five minutes from Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. While the album can't go to public consumption until 2103 (private listening parties are okay), each $1 purchase takes 88 seconds off the countdown. Billboard has reached out to the Department of Justice for comment. On Wednesday (July 23), Billboard announced the return of the 2025 Billboard Live Music Summit and Awards, taking place Monday, Nov. 3, at 1 Hotel West Hollywood. Post Malone's Ex Drops California Custody Case Over 3-Year-Old Daughter
Post Malone's ex has dropped a court petition that sought to move their three-year-old daughter from Utah to California after intense opposition from the singer. The star (Austin Post) and his ex-girlfriend, Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park, who had a daughter together in 2022, have been fighting over custody arrangements since April. The child is anonymous in court papers. Post, however, brought his own custody case in Utah, where he says their daughter has lived most of her life and should remain. The singer's lawyers filed a motion in May to dismiss Park's California petition as unfair 'gamesmanship,' and the matter was scheduled for a hearing next week. But Park has apparently relented, dropping her California case on Monday (July 21). Park dismissed the California case with prejudice, meaning it can't be re-filed. A source familiar with the situation tells Billboard that Park agreed to drop the California case as part of a temporary custody settlement that she and Post have amicably agreed upon, although they will continue to litigate final custody arrangements in the Utah court. It's a win for Post, who wrote in the May court filing that Park 'intentionally' hid from the court that their child — referred to by the initials 'DDP' — has been a Utah resident since birth. 'I do intend to work cooperatively with Jamie to ensure that DDP has frequent and equal custodial time with her mother,' Post wrote. 'However, I do not consent to Jamie's back door attempt to change DDP's residence from Utah to California.' Reps for Post and Park did not return requests for comment on Wednesday (July 23).
