Here is when O-Train service will be disrupted in August
In a memo to councillors, interim general manager of Transit Services Troy Charter says there will be two partial closures and one full closure of Line 1 in August and one week of reduced service on Line 2.
Reduced east-end service on Line 1
The service changes on Line 1 are to allow for Stage 2 East Extension integration work.
Charter says Line 1 will operate between Tunney's Pasture and Tremblay stations on Aug. 16 and 17 with R1 bus service operating between Hurdman and Blair stations both days. Work in the St. Laurent Station tunnel will also take place that weekend.
Line 1 will be offline the morning of Aug. 31, with R1 buses running between Tunney's Pasture and Blair starting at 8 a.m. Train service will start at noon.
'Testing and commissioning work has been progressing well during the summer. This progress has allowed us to connect key systems to the existing Line 1 segment, including the closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV), remote supervisory and control system, intrusion access system and update software on all trains in the fleet,' Charter wrote. 'This progress allows the training and familiarization for electric rail operators to advance, and customers and residents can expect to see more trains operating on the east alignment as a result.'
Line 2 frequency reduced in evenings
Customers will have to wait longer for a train on Line 2 in the evenings in mid-August, as work continues to install an axle bearing monitoring system near South Keys Station.
Line 2 and Line 4 service will continue during the work, but trains will only come every 24 minutes on Line 2 after 8 p.m. on Aug. 11 to 15.
These delays were initially intended to take place Aug. 4 to 8 but were rescheduled.
Line 2 trains typically run every 12 minutes.

Damon Evolves I/O Platform with Advanced Machine Learning for Adaptive Rider Performance
VANCOUVER, BC, Aug. 19, 2025 /CNW/ - Damon Inc. (OTCID: DMNIF) ("Damon" or the "Company"), a designer and developer of electric motorcycles and other personal mobility products that seek to empower the personal mobility sector through innovation, announced the next phase in the evolution of its Damon I/O platform with the introduction of an advanced machine learning module developed by Damon to be the cornerstone of its forthcoming Hypersport Race (HSR), a high-performance electric motorcycle model developed to demonstrate the Company's technology . This enhancement enables dynamic performance tuning based on rider behavior, vehicle data, and environmental inputs, delivering on the Damon's vision to transform personal mobility through smart, AI-connected experiences. Building on the Damon I/O platform launched in June 2025, Hypersport Race (HSR) is entering its prototype development phase in September 2025. For track riders, the system analyzes lap-by-lap performance, including cornering speed, braking patterns, and throttle control, to provide actionable, intuitive feedback. The goal is to help riders become safer, faster, and more efficient. Unlike complex track analysis tools built for engineers, Damon I/O translates sophisticated data into a rider-friendly format, highlighting clear performance gains and safety improvements without requiring technical expertise. "For the first time, track riders will have the sophistication of a race engineering team, distilled into insights they can understand and act on instantly," said Dominique Kwong, CEO of Damon. The system operates on a continuous feedback loop. Every ride generates new data, which is processed both on the motorcycle (edge learning) and in the cloud. This dual approach allows the system's intelligence to evolve in real-time. The more a rider contributes, the smarter Damon I/O becomes, delivering deeper, personalized insights that enhance performance and safety. This rider-focused feature also showcases the power of Damon I/O for the broader market. As stated in the company's Q3 fiscal commentary, Damon has diversified its business model beyond being solely a motorcycle development company to become a leader in intelligent data solutions for the personal mobility sector. This new machine learning module is a tangible example of the high-margin, data-driven services the Damon I/O platform can provide to other personal mobility OEMs and fleet operators. "Your motorcycle will now evolve as fast as your skills do, and every ride makes it better," added Kwong. "This is the future we are building: a fusion of high-performance hardware and intelligent software that not only enhances the experience for our own riders but also provides the digital backbone for the entire personal mobility industry." About Damon Damon Inc. is a designer and developer of personal mobility products and technology solutions that integrate AI-driven safety systems, smart electrification, and user-driven design to revolutionize sustainable transportation. New research from Clutch, Canada's leading online pre-owned car retailer, reveals widening trust and transparency gaps in the used car buying experience, with more than 3 in 5 (68%) of Canadians saying that they don't trust that traditional car dealerships have their best interests in mind. The Used Car Buyers' Confidence Report, conducted by Angus Reid on behalf of Clutch, uncovers widespread frustrations with buying pre-owned vehicles, from high-pressure sales to unclear pricing and hidden issues, and points to a growing demand for modern, transparent alternatives. Key Insights From the Report Include: Most Canadians Encounter Problems When Buying Used Cars The data reveals that the traditional dealership experience leaves most Canadians with doubts. Only 23% described their purchase process as smooth, while 77% said they encountered issues or setbacks. This rises to 81% for buyers aged 18–34 and 83% for those aged 35–54. Among those who experienced setbacks, the most common issues were price negotiations (55%), undisclosed mechanical or cosmetic issues (50%), and pressure from salespeople (50%). They also cause the most frustration for Canadians in their used car buying experience: undisclosed mechanical or cosmetic issues (40%), price negotiations (35%), and pressure from salespeople (31%). These patterns underscore a clear disconnect: the more consumers feel they are being 'sold to' instead of informed, the more confidence erodes. Clutch addresses these gaps by owning every step of the process, from a 210-point inspection to in-house reconditioning, to the company's rigorous certification standards, ensuring every vehicle meets consistent, high-quality benchmarks before it's ever listed for sale. Haggling Is a Major Pain Point Negotiation is one of the biggest stress triggers for buyers in the process. One in three (33%) Canadians are uncomfortable negotiating with salespeople, with: 22% of respondents preferring to avoid it entirely, of respondents preferring to avoid it entirely, 11% of respondents finding it stressful or overwhelming, of respondents finding it stressful or overwhelming, Women are more likely than men to feel uncomfortable ( 39% vs. 28% ) ) Younger and middle-aged buyers (18–54) are more likely than seniors to dislike negotiating (37% vs. 28%) No-haggle pricing — where the listed price is final — appeals to a third of Canadians buying online. This preference aligns with broader calls for transparent, fixed pricing that removes the power imbalance from the buying process. 'Buying a car is one of the biggest financial purchases Canadians make, yet for too long, the process has felt unclear, high-pressure, and stacked against the buyer,' said Dan Park, CEO of Clutch. 'We built Clutch to change that. By combining upfront pricing, expert support, and full transparency with added benefits like at-home delivery and a 10-day return policy, we're removing the friction and empowering Canadians with a smarter, modern way to buy and sell with confidence.' Canadians Value Proof and Protection When Buying Used Cars When asked what would make them more confident in purchasing a used car, up Canadians made it clear they value transparency, third-party verification, and post-purchase protection: Transparent vehicle history and condition reports ( 75% ) — rising to 80% for those aged 18–34 and 82% for those aged 35–54 ) — rising to for those aged 18–34 and for those aged 35–54 Independent inspection included ( 72% ) ) Longer return window or satisfaction guarantee ( 57% ) — rising to 61% for those aged 18–34 and 62% for those aged 35–54 ) — rising to for those aged 18–34 and 62% for those aged 35–54 No-haggle pricing (33%) When choosing between ways to build trust, 56% said both a short in-person test drive and a multi-day return policy would help. However, more prioritize a multi-day return window (25%) over a short test drive (11%), and 36% say they would want 1-3 days of use before committing to purchasing the vehicle. While 78% say they likely wouldn't use a return policy, simply having the option builds peace of mind. The results point to a clear shift toward modern, trustworthy alternatives like Clutch, which offer an end-to-end car buying and selling experience built on transparency, trust, and convenience. Clutch gives Canadians confidence in car buying with fixed, upfront pricing powered by AI and real market data—so everyone gets the same fair deal, no haggling required. Full-fee transparency means no surprises or hidden costs. Every vehicle undergoes a 210-point inspection, is fully reconditioned in-house, and comes with a detailed history report.
