They only had a 1.8 percent chance to win the No.1 pick, and they rose to the top four after the Portland Trail Blazers fell outside of the top 10.

Patrick Reed Makes U.S. Open History with Insane Albatross
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Patrick Reed has not been a contender at the majors outside of Augusta National since joining the LIV Golf tour, but he is looking to change that at this week's U.S. Open at Oakmont. Reed got his third major of the year going in the afternoon wave on Thursday and he wasted no time rising to the front page of the leaderboard. After a bogey on the par-4 second, Reed striped his drive on the par-5 fourth into the fairway. On his second shot, the 2018 Masters champion hit a perfect shot with a fairway wood from 286 yards that just trickled into the hole for an albatross. 🚨 ALBATROSS ALERT 🚨@PReedGolf with a 2 on a par 5, just the 4th in U.S. Open history! — U.S. Open (@usopengolf) June 12, 2025 Reed launched himself into contention with that one shot, getting to 2-under par for his round and comfortably into the top five. The incredible two on the par 5 was just the fourth albatross at the U.S. Open in recorded history and the first since 2012 when Nick Watney made one, according to Justin Ray. OAKMONT, PENNSYLVANIA - JUNE 12: Patrick Reed of the United States reacts after making albatross on the fourth green during the first round of the 125th U.S. OPEN at Oakmont Country Club on June 12, 2025 in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. More Photo byReed followed that spectacular shot up with a bogey on the fifth, but got back to 2-under with a birdie on the par-3 sixth hole. Despite another bogey on No. 9, he I still in a strong position at 1-under par at the turn. The American has finished in the top 15 in six of his last eight appearances at The Masters, including his victory in 2018, but has struggled to contend at the other three majors on the calendar. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship in May and has not recorded a top 20 finish at the U.S. Open since 2021. Reed has had a rocky season on the LIV tour as well, with just three top 10s in eight starts. However, his short game wizardry could help him plenty at Oakmont, which is wreaking havoc on some of the best in the world around the greens. Reed is in early contention during his first nine of the tournament and will be hoping to stay there through the weekend. Regardless of how the rest of his U.S. Open goes, he has a little history he can take home with him. More Golf: Rory McIlroy Skips Media, Suffers Tragic U.S. Open Finish to Forget

Which, by the grace of god, we found out just by — It ended up being terrifying. The day we got home from WrestleMania, the next day at 6 am, we were at the hospital for a little bit of heart surgery." The Undertaker: "Just a little bit." McCool: "It was your heart." The Undertaker: "There was that little sidebar going on." McCool: "A sidebar for five weeks. It was terrifying." The Undertaker: "I wasn't supposed to go to Vegas." MoreMcCool continued, "You weren't supposed to go anywhere. You didn't want me to tell anybody. Not fair to me, not fair. We were in the hospital for four nights two weeks before WrestleMania. Yeah, you weren't supposed to go. I'm not mad at it because I'd probably be the same [way], but it was terrifying. I couldn't focus on anything else. The Undertaker's Undiagnosed AFib More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation "I did. That I had scheduled in January, that's crazy about it. You went to the doctor March 28th, I'll never forget. Then you called me and you were like, 'They won't run the heart exam.' Just a routine heart scan that we were going to do."McCool: "Got you into another [appointment] about an hour later. They had one appointment open. Come to find out, you had been in chronic AFib for who knows how long. But the scary part was that you didn't feel any symptoms, so we didn't know. Yeah, you came in a few times out of breath and I'd give you a hard time like, 'Dude, you were just throwing the ball with the dog, why are you so out of breath?' Or going up the stairs to pray with the kids, 'Why are you out of breath', not thinking it was an actual heart issue. So, yeah. Medicines didn't work and we ended up in the ER on a Friday. Of course you wouldn't stay the night." "At the end of Kai's flag football all day Saturday, you looked at me and said, 'I'm still in AFib,' because you were doing it with the watch. I was like, 'If you're not out of AFib when we're getting ready to go to church tomorrow morning, we're going to the hospital.' Thankfully you agreed." Hospitalization and Recovery "We went to the hospital, numbers were out of whack. Heartbeat was out of whack. Your ejection fraction of how the blood was pumping was 30%, it wasn't much. Supposed to be 100%, obviously. We ended up staying in the hospital for four nights where they actually had to cardiovert you and shock you back to a normal rhythm. That sadly lasted, what, 24 hours. Maybe 48. After four days we go home, two days later you're back in AFib. Man I was stressed." The couple confirmed that The Undertaker's heart issues have since been resolved.
