Elon Musk says he's back to spending 24/7 at work after X outage, makes official exit from politics
Elon Musk says he's back to 24X7 office after X witnessed massive outage across the world Saturday.
The major outage in X, formerly Twitter, marked
Elon Musk
's official exit from politics, which occupied most of his time in the past six months as he announced that he's back to spending 24X7 at work and will be sleeping in conference rooms, server rooms and factory rooms.
While the announcement came after the outage, he made it a point to mention Tesla and Starlink as well.
"I must be super focused on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out," he wrote.
"As evidenced by the 𝕏 uptime issues this week, major operational improvements need to be made. The failover redundancy should have worked, but did not," Musk wrote, replying to a post on how X faced multiple outages this morning affecting billions of users.

Musk has already announced that his political involvement would now reduce as he gets back to his core work which took a backseat because of his involvement in the Department of Government Efficiency. Musk has moved out of the White House and said earlier that he would devote one or two days to government work. But now it seems, his exit is final.
A fire reportedly broke out in an Oregon data centre owned by X Thursday. Many reports claimed that the fire, which had an extended response from emergency crews, involved batteries in one of the data center's rooms.

But it was not confirmed whether the fire led to the outage.
Social media users blamed H-1B hires for outage
Several social media users claimed that the H-1B hires of X were behind the outage. X's AI Grok had to rescue the situation. "I'm sorry you're having trouble with notifications. X had a major outage starting May 22, 2025, due to a data center fire in Hillsboro, Oregon, which likely caused the issue. The engineering team is working to fix it. There's no evidence H1B visa holders are responsible; the problem is infrastructure-related," Grok replied to an X post that urged to take the control of X away from H-1Bs.

'No hard feelings': Donald Trump responds to Elon Musk's apology after intense feud; JD Vance tries to ease tensions
Musk-Trump US President Donald Trump has welcomed Elon Musk 's apology following their very public online feud, saying he holds 'no hard feelings' after the billionaire admitted he had gone 'too far' in his criticism. 'I thought it was very nice that he did that,' Trump told the New York Post during an interview on Wednesday, after Musk posted a late-night message on his platform X saying, 'I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.' The spat between the two began last week when Musk unleashed a string of harsh social media comments, accusing Trump of blocking the release of government files related to the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Musk also claimed that Trump wouldn't have won the 2024 election without his support and called the president's major tax bill a 'disgusting abomination.' Musk's attacks followed his departure from the government's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). After stepping down, he called for Americans to 'kill the bill' in Congress, warning it could 'cause a recession in the second half of the year.' The bill includes tax cuts and increased defence spending and passed the House last month. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Trump hit back, calling Musk 'crazy' and accusing him of suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome.' He also threatened to review SpaceX 's federal contracts, reportedly worth around $38 billion. Despite the heated exchange, Trump appeared open to reconciliation. 'Look, I have no hard feelings,' he told columnist Miranda Devine on her 'Pod Force One' podcast. 'I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that's phenomenal. I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.' Efforts to patch things up have already begun behind the scenes. US vice president JD Vance and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles reportedly spoke to Musk on Friday in an attempt to ease tensions. While it remains unclear if Musk personally contacted Trump, some reports suggest he may have called the president earlier this week. Trump declined to say whether he was ready to fully reconcile but left the door open. 'I guess I could, but we have to straighten out the country,' he was quoted as saying to the Post. 'And my sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it's ever been. And I think we can do that.' Musk has been a major donor to Trump's campaign and had previously been viewed as a close ally. However, their falling out led to calls for Musk's deportation from former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and sparked debate across political circles.

Trump acknowledges Elon Musk's apology after spat over 'Big Beautiful Bill'
US President Donald Trump has acknowledged and appreciated an apology issued by tech billionaire Elon Musk following their recent public dispute, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Wednesday (local time). At a press briefing, Leavitt said, 'President Trump is appreciative of Elon Musk's apology.' She was referring to last week's online feud between the two over the US administration's ambitious spending bill, popularly known as the 'One Big Beautiful Bill'. The spat unfolded on social media platform X, where Musk initially criticised the bill, triggering a sharp rebuke from Trump. The Tesla CEO later appeared to extend an olive branch, posting on X, 'I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.' Backchannel diplomacy and reconciliation efforts According to a CNN report, Musk placed a brief call to Trump on Monday night, ahead of his public apology on X. The report noted that the call lasted only moments but followed a series of high-level backchannel efforts by White House officials and Trump allies. Vice President JD Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had reportedly spoken with Musk on June 6, attempting to defuse tensions and encourage reconciliation. During the call, the trio discussed the feud and potential ways to ease the political fallout. It was previously reported that the White House advised Trump not to criticise Musk publicly and tried arranging a call between the estranged allies. Fallout over the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' The row between Trump and Musk erupted last week after Musk, in his capacity as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), sharply criticised the administration's sweeping economic legislation. Musk's resignation from DOGE soon followed. Trump, reacting during an Oval Office Q&A, expressed his disappointment and hinted at reviewing federal contracts involving Musk's companies. 'We've done a lot for Elon. I don't think he remembers that,' Trump said at the time. In response, Musk took to X to defend his position, posting a flurry of comments aimed at the bill and Trump's leadership. SpaceX threat and potential fallout As the exchange escalated, Musk announced plans to decommission SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft, currently the only US-operated vehicle capable of ferrying astronauts to the International Space Station. The move was widely interpreted as a retaliatory warning amid Trump's threats to cancel federal contracts. Musk's companies—Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink—play key roles in US government programmes ranging from defence communications to civilian space exploration. The possibility of a rift between the administration and its most prominent tech contractor alarmed both lawmakers and agency officials. Republican lawmakers step in Over the past week, Republican lawmakers have reportedly reached out to Musk in private, urging him to support the spending bill and tone down public criticisms. Several of them view Musk as a crucial ally in advancing the administration's innovation and infrastructure goals.
