Coldplay gig goer says 'someone else would have' as they defend sharing kiss cam clip
The woman who filmed the Coldplay kiss cam moment has spoken out for the first time in a UK TV interview. The woman who filmed the Coldplay kiss cam couple and shared it online has revealed the true reason behind capturing the footage in her first British live TV interview. The viral video showed Coldplay's Chris Martin directing a camera towards the audience at his Boston concert, displaying various fans on the arena's kiss cam. However, the camera captured Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his Head of HR Kristin Cabot in a passionate clinch before the pair attempted to conceal their faces. Byron, who is married, submitted his resignation over the weekend following the controversy. Meanwhile, the technology firm released a statement on social media: "As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met." Speaking to This Morning via video link, the clip's uploader Grace Springer revealed her motivation for filming the incident - confessing she was only recording because she hoped to feature on the Coldplay big screen, reports the Mirror. "I was hoping to see myself on the big screen and I love to capture moments so that's why my phone was out in the first place," she said. Grace added: "I was being hopeful. So in the moment when I filmed it, I didn't think much of it but everyone was chattering. "There was over 50,000 people at the concert. It wasn't until after the concert when I was debriefing the moment with my friends. We reviewed the footage to see if it really looked that bad and it really does." When quizzed by Dermot about whether she felt remorseful for sharing the clip, she replied: "I definitely feel for Andy's wife Megan and his family and everyone else who has been hurt in the process. "But like I said, there was over 50,000 people and I'm not the only one who caught it on camera so if it wasn't me who uploaded it, I'm sure someone else would have." Despite clocking up millions of views on TikTok, Grace confessed that she hadn't earned a single penny from the footage. This Morning is available to watch on ITVX.
