Man charged after deadly shooting at Kansas City convenience store
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced Monday that a man from Kansas City has been charged with murder in relation to a deadly shooting that happened in March.
Demarion Nichols was charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. If convicted, he could spend up to 30 years in prison.

According to court records, officers with the Kansas City Police Department responded to the area of St. John and Monroe Avenues on March 26 and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
In March, KCPD identified the victim as 21-year-old Tracy Williams.
The prosecutor's office said video surveillance footage showed Williams entering a store as a black Ford Fiesta arrived and backed into a parking spot. When he finally exited the store, a man, later identified as Nichols, exited the driver's side of the Ford and shot Williams as he walked by.
The document claims he continued to shoot Williams even after he fell between two cars. The video footage then showed Nicholas walk back to his car and drive away from the scene.
Detectives were able to find Nichols through social media and tracing information from his cell phone that placed him on the scene at the time of the shooting, according to the prosecutor's office.
Nichols is being held in a Jackson County jail without bond.

() — Darian McWoods was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday as a result of a plea deal for the death of his infant daughter more than a decade ago, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. The court of appeals called the process discriminatory. The case was sent back to the Multnomah County Circuit Court for a retrial. ‘Grinch' who allegedly stole, prowled cars on Christmas in Camas arrested
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Months after a person was caught on camera stealing a car and prowling other vehicles last Christmas, Camas police announced on Wednesday that they have made an arrest in the case. Twenty-three-year-old Jorge Ayala was charged with auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, nine counts of vehicle prowl and third-degree theft. According to police, the crimes occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Christmas morning 2024 when a dark gray Mazda CX3 with Washington license plate BSD5166 was stolen by a 'Grinch' from the Woodburn Neighborhood then used to drive around the area to prowl other vehicles. Pennsylvania men accused in scheme that swiped $80M in U.S. Treasury checks
(WHTM) — Four Pennsylvania men are facing charges in connection with the theft of over $80 million in U.S. Treasury checks. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced Wednesday charges against four men from the Philadelphia area: Tauheed Tucker, 23, and Saahir Irby, 27, both of Philadelphia; Cory Scott, 25, of Ardmore; and Alexander Telewoda, 25, of Clifton Heights. The men are facing felony conspiracy to steal government funds, theft of government funds, and mail theft charges. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Irby and Tucker were working as mail processing clerks for the U.S. Postal Service between June 2023 and Sept. 2024. They are accused of intercepting and swiping thousands of envelopes containing U.S. Treasury checks from mail sorting machines at the USPS Philadelphia processing center. The men then allegedly sold them to Scott and Telewoda, who then resold the checks on Telegram. They were mailed to buyers across the country who attempted to cash them. In total, $80 million in checks were allegedly stolen, $11 million of which were cashed.
