Afcons Infrastructure emerges lowest bidder for railway project in Croatia worth over Rs 6,800 crore

Afcons Infrastructure Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major international railway project in Croatia. In a regulatory filing, the company announced that it has secured the top position in the bidding process conducted by HŽ Infrastruktura d.o.o. (HŽ Infrastructure Ltd), the state-owned rail infrastructure manager in the Republic of Croatia. The project involves the reconstruction of the existing line and the construction of a second track on the Dugo Selo–Novska railway route. It also includes overhead electrification, along with signalling and telecommunication works—making it a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade. The estimated contract value is EUR 677 million, which is approximately ₹6,800 crore (excluding taxes). The execution period for the project has not been explicitly mentioned but will follow standard timelines for similar international railway projects. This win marks a significant milestone for Afcons Infrastructure, boosting its presence in the European market and reinforcing its capabilities in large-scale transportation and infrastructure development. In the meantime, on July 17, the company also emerged as the lowest bidder for two key road construction packages in Croatia, part of the strategic A1 Motorway stretch connecting Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik. The first package (J324/23), worth €240.59 million (approx. ₹2,398 crore), involves building a 9-km stretch between Rudine and Slano. The second (J325/23), valued at €214.45 million (approx. ₹2,137.44 crore), covers 11.5 km from Slano to Puo Mravinjac. Both contracts, awarded by Croatian Motorways Ltd, are BOQ/item rate based and have a timeline of 42 months for completion. Oberoi Realty Q1 Results: Profit falls 28% YoY to Rs 421.2 crore, revenue drop 30%

Oberoi Realty kicked off FY26 on a weaker note, posting a sharp decline in its earnings for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025. The Mumbai-based real estate developer reported a 28% year-on-year (YoY) drop in net profit, which came in at ₹421.2 crore compared to ₹585 crore in Q1 FY25. The company also witnessed a significant decline in revenue, which fell 29.7% YoY to ₹987.5 crore, down from ₹1,405 crore in the same period last year. The fall in revenue appears to have weighed heavily on operating performance as well. On the operating front, EBITDA came in at ₹520.4 crore, a steep 36% decline from ₹815 crore a year ago. EBITDA margin also slipped to 52.7% from 58% YoY, reflecting the pressure on profitability despite a still-healthy margin profile by sector standards. Oberoi Realty board has also declared an interim dividend of ₹2 per share for FY26. This amounts to 20% of the face value of each share (₹10). The decision was made during the board meeting held on July 21, 2025. Shareholders on record as of July 25, 2025, will be eligible for the dividend. The company has confirmed that the payout will be made on or before August 7, 2025. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
