Fleeing Grey Bruce police leads to crash and a whole mess of charges

Grey Bruce police charged a Mississauaga man with dangerous driving after he fled police and crashed his truck. Wed., Aug. 13, 2025. PHOTO: OPP
Concerned citizens called police on an erratic driver who was swerving on the Grey Road 4 and Concession 2 in Grey Highlands Tuesday just after 11:30 p.m.
Officers with the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) found the Dodge Ram truck and attempted to stop it.
However, the driver fled from police until he stopped by crashing into a ditch.
The driver sustained only a minor injury.
A 41-year-old Mississauga man was charged with:
Three counts of failing to comply with a release order
Flight from peace officer
Dangerous operation
Two counts of operation while prohibited
Four counts of driving while under suspension.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Police closed Grey Road 4 temporarily between Highway 10 and West Back Line for several hours to investigate the scene. It has since reopened.

Four people have been taken to hospital following a serious marine incident in Lakeshore. CTV Windsor's Travis Fortnum is on scene. A 17-year-old girl is dead and another teen is fighting for her life after a jet ski crash in Lakeshore. Essex County OPP say emergency crews were called to Lake St. Clair, near Couture Beach, around 2 p.m. Thursday for a collision involving a single personal watercraft. With help from nearby residents, first responders pulled four girls — aged 15 to 17 — from the water. Police say the 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 16-year-old girl was transported to hospital and later airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Two more girls, ages 15 and 17, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
