Fountain of fables: Aug date for light, sound show in Gurgaon?

Gurgaon: If all goes to plan, by Aug, Sector 29 might not just be known for its restaurants and bars but also for bringing stories to life through water, light and sound. As work on setting up the city's first-ever light and sound show nears completion at Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29, officials say the themes being considered for laser projections include Guru Dronacharya, the mighty Hanuman and elements from children's fantasy stories. The light and sound show — designed as a 10 to 15-minute immersive experience — is preparing to dazzle its visitors with a visual spectacle that blends mythology, fantasy and cutting-edge technology. A GMDA official says, "This will be the first project of its kind in the city. We are exploring several cultural and historical themes, but the final narrative for the laser show is yet to be finalised." While the final storyline is still being curated with inputs from the Indian Council of Historical Research and India Tourism Development Corporation, GMDA officials say the aim is to craft something that resonates across age groups — from children to history buffs. Spread across 25 acres, Leisure Valley Park has long been a haven for walkers, joggers and families. Now, many residents are hopeful it will become the city's cultural hotspot after sunset. With a modest seating capacity of around 100 people, the show is expected to draw more visitors once launched. Officials say the Rs 8.3-crore project also includes five years of operation and maintenance and could pave the way for similar cultural initiatives in other parts of the city. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo The show will use 3D projection mapping on a water screen, synchronised audio, laser visuals and high-pressure fountain nozzles to create a rich, multi-sensory narrative. Scheduled for Oct last year, the project was delayed by over eight months due to structural seepage detected in the fountain area — the very site where the projection screen was to be mounted.

Revamp over, NDMC plans to reopen Srijan Art Gallery in Nehru Park

New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council has completed the refurbishment of Srijan Art Gallery in Nehru Park and will open it to the public soon. The open-air gallery near gate number 1 of Nehru Park will serve as a platform for young, budding artists to showcase their artwork. "The place was revamped recently, and the civil department also installed grills around this place. There is a provision for a shed with spaces created for displaying artworks and lights installed to highlight art pieces. We will inaugurate the facility soon," said NDMC vice-chairman Kuljeet Chahal. Exhibitions will be organised frequently at the gallery, with a nominal or no fee for the visitors. "Young national awardees will be given space here to display their works. Considering several people come here for morning walks and other recreational activities, it would be the perfect place to display artworks with so much greenery around," said Chahal. Aiming to implement projects related to art and culture in a more creative manner after engaging expert artists, NDMC set up an art and culture department in May. A budget of approximately Rs 40 crore, 1% of its expenditure account, has been earmarked this fiscal for implementing related projects. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Air conditioners without external unit. NDMC earlier also shared plans to form a committee in collaboration with institutions like Sahitya Kala Parishad and Triveni Kala Sangam to promote art and culture. Plans include developing an art gallery at Navyug School in Sarojini Nagar and rehearsal spaces for artistes in schools. A summer art workshop was also organised in Navyug School in May. Areas like Khan Market will be adorned with vibrant street art to enhance pedestrian experiences as part of the art on public places initiatives. "If it turns out to be successful, this initiative will be extended to other major markets," Chahal had said. NDMC has already started organising its 'music in the park' series at Nehru Park featuring performances by renowned artistes. To increase footfall in the subways that sometimes become isolated, there is a plan to hold art and culture exhibitions in Connaught Place subways, giving emerging artists an opportunity to showcase their talents, he had added.
