NASCAR: Denny Hamlin Breaks Silence on Heated Pit Lane Clash in Sonoma
NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin has revealed his views on the pit lane clash during the Cup Series race at Sonoma. A conflict erupted between the pit crews of RFK Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing after Ty Gibbs and Brad Keselowski had pitted.
The pit stalls of both teams were next to each other, a point that contributed to the conflict. When Keselowski's crew awaited his arrival, Gibbs came into the pits before him and grazed tire changer Telvin McClurkin while passing through the RFK Racing stall.
Keselowski came in a few seconds later. Once he set off, McClurkin confronted the JGR crew members, which escalated into a fight. NASCAR officials intervened to settle the dispute. The sport stated that Gibbs was not at fault for grazing the tire held by McClurkin, considering the lack of sufficient space.
Now, Hamlin has revealed his take on his Actions Detrimental podcast, concluding that both teams were "trying to gain an advantage." He said:

It's just bad timing, is the best I can explain it.
"Whenever you're pitted in front of someone and then you're barely in front of them on track, what happens is you have their tire carriers and their jackman kind of standing at the wall. They've changed the rule recently over the last year or two to where they don't want these guys jumping off the wall. That's too much weight, you'll create injuries. So, they let them kind of get ready in their pit box.
"Well, they're trying to get around to the right side of the car before it stops. Brad's team is trying to get their advantage, which is get to the right side as soon as possible. But they're not able to run out there till after the 54 passes, which that definitely does slow them down.
"I didn't see the carrier move from his position, but I think Ty was trying to get the best angle into his box — which he's entitled to — and the contact happened. Who's fault? I don't know. Both sides were trying to gain an advantage."
RFK put its case forward to NASCAR by submitting footage that offers an overhead view of the incident. However, the sport did not accept RFK's argument.

Gibbs is coming off consecutive top-10 finishes and has posted the second-best average finishing position (8.5) over the last six races. Notably, Gibbs also boasts a better average finishing position than Reddick (11.5 to 14.5) in the Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway. Both drivers will finish inside the top 16, but Gibbs (13th) edges out Reddick (15th) to advance. However, this is his first trip to Dover Motor Speedway in the Cup Series, and that will come with its own adjustments. He'll finish outside the top 25, which will be only the second time that's happened since Talladega. When all is said and done, Larson will walk away with the highest points total from Sunday's race at Dover. Unfortunately for the No. 8 team, we don't see him snapping it on Sunday. Coming off consecutive top-10 finishes with 76 total points, Busch will make it three consecutive weeks and add 30-plus points to his total, narrowing the gap between him and Bubba Wallace. Denny Hamlin wins again at Dover Motor Speedway There might not be a driver happier to be headed to Dover than Denny Hamlin. He won the Würth 400 last year, marking his second top-five finish in three races at the track in the Next Gen era. The No. 11 car has also been performing exceptionally well in qualifying on ovals lately, delivering three consecutive top-three starting positions from Nashville through Pocono. Hamlin has always said that a great qualifying effort is usually a strong sign that he has a higher-than-average shot at winning. He'll be near the top of the starting grid on Sunday, turning it into his fourth win of the season. Subaru's third EV is the Uncharted (yep) with 300 miles of range and 338 horsepower
Subaru just screwed up our SEO with the launch of the Uncharted, an electric crossover with up to 300 miles of range that probably has nothing to do with the video game. It uses the same E-TNGA platform as Toyota's CH-R EV and strongly resembles that model. Due to arrive next year, the 2026 Uncharted will come in two versions, both with 74.7kWh batteries. The first is a front-wheel drive version with 228 horsepower and 300 miles of range, while the second is a much grunt-ier dual-motor four wheel drive version with 338 horsepower and a sub-five-second 0-60mph time in either Sport or GT trims, but slightly less range (290 miles). The latter specs are identical to the CH-R EV, by the way. Subaru's 300-mile-range Uncharted is a near clone of Toyota's CH-R EV The Uncharted will come standard with a Tesla-style NACS charging port to give drivers Supercharger access. Fast charging speeds are limited to 150kW but Subaru claims it'll charge from 10-80 percent in under 30 minutes with the use of battery preconditioning. It's definitely a spitting image of the CH-R EV right down to the side cladding, though it has slightly different headlights and a restyled front end. Even the interior has a substantially similar center console that can wirelessly charge two phones plus the same 14-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto/CarPlay support. It has a generous complement of manual controls, unlike Tesla's EVs. Subaru's 300-mile-range Uncharted is a near clone of Toyota's CH-R EV Subaru hasn't released pricing yet for the 2026 Uncharted, but it might be similar to the CH-R EV which starts at $35,000. It's just the company's third electric vehicle, following the three-year-old Solterra and Outback-like Trailseeker, also set to arrive next year.
