Loss of property documents costs housing finance firm 10 lakh
Coimbatore: The district consumer disputes redressal commission has directed a housing finance firm to pay a compensation of 10 lakh to a customer for loss of original property documents. According to an official source, S Murugesan and his son M Prabhakaran, of Vadavalli, jointly availed a housing loan from DCB Bank in Coimbatore by mortgaging their property. Later, PNB Housing Finance Ltd at Pappanaickenpalayam agreed to take over the loan and sanctioned an amount of 22.90 lakh on November 11, 2018. As part of the process, the father-son duo deposited the original title deeds and other documents related to the property with the finance firm after executing a memorandum of deposit of title deeds. After the duo settled the entire outstanding loan amount, the finance firm closed the loan and issued a no objection certificate on November 12, 2023. On December 5, 2023, Murugesan and Prabhakaran visited the finance firm's office to collect their original title deeds and documents. To their shock, they were informed that the documents were misplaced and that the finance firm was in the process of tracking them, the source said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The finance firm also did not execute the cancellation of the memorandum of deposit of title deeds and failed to return the original documents. Plot twist: Conned by a minor, 3 fanboys set out to meet Salman Khan; rescued in Nasik
New Delhi: What began as an online gaming friendship and a starry-eyed fantasy to meet Bollywood actor Salman Khan turned into a 1,200-km interstate rescue mission for Delhi Police. Three schoolboys, aged between 9 and 13, who went missing from north Delhi's Sadar Bazar, were safely traced and rescued from Nasik Railway Station in Maharashtra. The boys, classmates at a school in Sadar Bazar, had been playing the online multiplayer game, Free Fire, for over a year when they befriended a boy named Wahid from Jalna, Maharashtra. During a casual chat, Wahid claimed to have met actor Salman Khan — a remark that sparked the boys' plan to travel to Mumbai to meet the superstar, all without informing their families. On July 25, the families — residents of Kasab Pura and Motia Khan — approached the Sadar Bazar police station after realising the children were missing. One of the boys had left a handwritten note stating they were going to meet Wahid. A kidnapping case was registered under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and two police teams were assigned to the case. A search at Wahid's residence in Jalna yielded no leads. Meanwhile, police tracked intermittent signals from one of the boys' mobile phones, eventually locating them near Nasik Railway Station. "Officers boarded a parallel train to Nasik, and after an exhaustive ground search, the children were found loitering near the station platforms," Banthia said. "They revealed that Wahid had contacted them en route and warned them that police were searching for them, advising them not to come to Jalna. The boys then decided to continue on, hoping to eventually reach Mumbai." The children were safely rescued and brought back to Delhi, where they were reunited with their families.

Let migrants come back, we'll know who is lying: CM after ‘fake clip' claim
1 2 Kolkata/Bolpur: A Bengali-speaking woman and her child, who were allegedly assaulted in Delhi, had been threatened, CM Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday. The CM had earlier shared a video on social media, alleging that the woman and her child were assaulted in the national capital for speaking their language. "The migrant workers are being held in detention camps and moved from one police station to another. Just yesterday (Monday), I mentioned the child's situation. I said they were being transferred from one station to another and are likely to be threatened. That's exactly what happened. Now, we want them to return. It will soon be clear who is telling the truth and who is lying," said Banerjee at Birbhum's Illambazar, while attending a govt programme. You Can Also Check: Kolkata AQI | Weather in Kolkata | Bank Holidays in Kolkata | Public Holidays in Kolkata A day earlier, the CM had said at the 'Bhasha Andolan' rally in Bolpur: "I received news that in Delhi, people from a Bengali colony have been asked to leave within a month. I shared a post on social media about how a child was assaulted. The police are taking them from one police station to another so that they can be shown as 'missing'. Then they will say we are sharing fake information. We do not need to fake anything." Delhi Police , however, called the video shared by Banerjee on social media "fabricated" and "politically motivated". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Libas Purple Days Sale Libas Undo Delhi's deputy commissioner of police (East Delhi) Abhishek Dhania said: "During sustained questioning, the woman admitted that her relative, a political worker from Malda, asked her to make the video. The video was then circulated locally in Bengal and later surfaced on social media." After Bengal BJP raised the issue, Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh told reporters: "We will not heed the opinion of experts in fake posts. They are extremely adept at posting videos and images of incidents taking place even outside India to smear Bengal. In this case, the post made by the CM was based on specific input. It has come to our notice that police are under tremendous pressure in BJP-governed states to manipulate facts relating to the illegal detention and harassment of Bengali-speaking people. It needs to be unearthed whether this (the Delhi Police statement) is part of that script." Ghosh also questioned BJP MP Soumendu Adhikari's police complaint against the post, "He, and his party, never stood by people when they were harassed and detained. They never helped them. But now he is trying to prove a political point to his party," he said.
