It's going to be a hard knock life for the Buffalo Bills.
For the first time in franchise history, the Bills are taking center stage on Hard Knocks. Episode 1 premieres Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max.
The five-part "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills" will air weekly, following a team with Super Bowl aspirations through training camp at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford.
Each episode will also be available to stream on Max. HBO's schedule lists multiple re-airings throughout the week, including on HBO Latino and HBO2.
The Bills were selected for the training camp series after the NFL eliminated a previous provision that allowed playoff teams to decline the league's request to be featured on the show.
"It was quite a surprise," Bills quarterback Josh Allen told USA TODAY on July 14, adding that he found out the news on his 29th birthday, May 21. "Typically, teams that make the playoffs are never a part of that conversation.
"I probably, initially, didn't react too great to it. But I do think it's a cool opportunity for people to see some of the great men we have on our team and some of the great women we have in our staff as a whole."
An NFL Films crew of about 35 people is stationed at St. John Fisher through the end of August.
'Hard Knocks has a larger, casual fan base than most other NFL programming,' executive producer Ken Rodgers told The Athletic. 'It's a workplace drama, and it's about the characters. I think the nation is going to get to know these people in a way that they haven't experienced from just watching them play on Sunday.'
The in-season edition of "Hard Knocks" will follow the NFC East in the second year of division-wide coverage.
This is the 21st edition of the "Hard Knocks" training camp series, which began in 2001.
When does "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills" air?

Episode 4: Tuesday, Aug. 26
Episode 5: Tuesday, Sept. 2

Cineverse and Air Bud Entertainment have launched a nationwide talent search to discover the next golden retriever to star as the iconic, basketball-playing Air Bud in the upcoming Air Bud Returns, the latest installment in the classic family movie franchise. According to a press release, the film's producers are looking for a purebred golden retriever "to carry the 25-year legacy forward — embodying the charm, athleticism and heart that made Air Bud a beloved character." Families were first introduced to Air Bud in the original 1997 movie about a young boy named Bobby who befriends a golden retriever, Buddy, who can play basketball — and quite impressively. Since then, the franchise has spawned 14 films, as well as two Christmas spin-offs. Beginning this month, dog owners across the U.S. can submit their pets for consideration for the role on the official Air Bud website. Fans can also follow the canine star search journey via the site, and all entrants will be eligible to win a variety of prizes, including Air Bud jerseys, signed movie merchandise and a trip to the film's Los Angeles premiere. In a video shared on the entry submission page, Robert Vince, a producer on all of the original films, announced the talent search. "We introduced the world to an incredible golden retriever called Air Bud. He proved to the world that anything is possible," he said. "Now, we're bringing Buddy back to the big screen with an all-new movie. For the first time ever, we're opening up the auditions for the next Air Bud." Vince then introduced the movie's lead animal trainer, Mark Forbes, who explained exactly what the team is looking for in their new star. "We need a dog who is a purebred golden retriever, who's athletic and, ideally, he would love basketball, just like the original Air Bud," he said. According to an official synopsis, Air Bud Returns follows 12-year-old Jacob, who aspires to be a star basketball player. Brewers move forward with game vs. Mets as scheduled despite flooding, road closures

As Wisconsin is hit with heavy rains and flash flooding, the Milwaukee Brewers are moving ahead with Sunday's game as scheduled. The game, against the New York Mets, is set to take place in Milwaukee's American Family Field at 1:10 p.m. local time, with the Brewers one win away from a series sweep. The team announced Sunday morning that they would be playing as planned, but warned fans about significant road closures into the stadium. In addition, about half of the parking lots around the stadium are closed due to standing water, with the team adding that fans will not be guaranteed parking even if they paid for it in advance. Additionally, Sunday's game was set to be a Jacob Misiorowski t-shirt giveaway, with the Brewers planning to give away the shirts to the first 25,000 fans. The team said that the giveaway will still be happening, but a second Misiorowski shirt giveaway will be scheduled on another game to accommodate fans who won't be able to make it. The Milwaukee area was hit with excessive heavy rains starting on Saturday, hitting a two-day rainfall record in the area, per the National Weather Service. The area received 7.96 inches between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, though though some parts of Milwaukee received as many as 10 inches of rain. Due to the weather, rainwater started to fall onto American Family Field on Saturday during the Brewers' 7-4 win over the Mets, despite the roof being closed. After the game, the storm was still going in full force as fans were trying to leave the stadium. Videos and photos on social media show flooding on the roads and lots around the stadium well into the night, and on Sunday mornign. Ahead of Sunday's game, Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger told reporters the reseasoning behind letting the game go on as scheduled. "Obviously it's not a simple situation. The fact is the building is in great shape, so we're very fortunate that there was no damage," Schlesinger said, via Adam McCalvy. "After talking internally ... we felt that it was the right thing to do to still play the game. There are ways to get here. Obviously, the fans know that the normal access points are gonna be a little compromised, so they're gonna make alternate routes. "We decided that, given that this is the last time the Mets are gonna be here this year, in the regular season, given that the ballpark is in fine shape," he continued, "we felt we could play the game under these circumstances. The fans that can come, that's great. Fans that can't, again, they won't be negatively impacted by the fact that they can't use their ticket. We'll make that exchange available to them, and they'll come to another game." With Sunday's game continuing as planned, Brewers are set for a sweep over the Mets, after beating New York 3-2 and 7-4 on Friday and Saturday. Quinn Priester will take to the mound for Milwaukee, while Sean Manaea will pitch for the Mets.
