BTS' V gains 864K Instagram followers, Jungkook earns 200K on TikTok post discharge, fans ‘not surprised' by popularity

Just days after their return from mandatory military service, BTS' V and Jungkook are already proving their unstoppable global influence. While fans were celebrating their long-awaited return, the two idols began making headlines. They dominated social media platforms with overwhelming numbers, despite not releasing any new music or content yet. V becomes most-followed K-pop male idol on Instagram Kim Taehyung, better known by his stage name V, was officially discharged from military service on June 10, 2025. He served as a sergeant in the Special Duty Team (SDT) under the 2nd Corps Military Police in Chuncheon. Just six days later, on June 16, he made history online. According to updated figures, V gained 864,000 new followers on Instagram in a single week, pushing his follower count to 67.7 million. This staggering milestone has crowned him as the most-followed K-pop act on the platform this week. Fans around the world praise V's sustained influence and public appeal even after nearly 18 months out of the spotlight. Jungkook reigns over TikTok and YouTube While Taehyung rules Instagram, fellow BTS member Jungkook is proving to be an undeniable force on other platforms. He doesn't operate a personal Instagram account and only manages one for his dog Bam. Since his discharge on June 11, the golden maknae's popularity has skyrocketed again, particularly on TikTok and YouTube. He gained over 200,000 new followers on TikTok within days of returning to civilian life. As of now, his account boasts an impressive 21.7 million followers. This makes him one of the most-followed Korean solo acts on the platform. But the buzz doesn't stop there. Jungkook's YouTube content has seen a major spike in daily views, reaching over 3.1 million. Netizens and fans alike were quick to note that this number surpasses many active idol groups. Military service recap V enlisted on December 11, 2023, and served his term in one of the most prestigious and physically demanding military units: the SDT. He completed his duties with distinction and left his post as a respected sergeant. Jungkook entered service one day later on December 12, 2023, enlisting alongside fellow member Jimin under the 'companion enlistment program'. The pair served together in the 5th Infantry Division. Now that both members have completed their duties, anticipation is building for what lies ahead. Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and V are already discharged and SUGA is set to complete his alternative service on June 21. BIGHIT MUSIC has yet to announce specific comeback plans for BTS as a full group. Whether it's individual activities or a long-anticipated OT7 comeback, one thing is certain: BTS is returning to an industry that missed them dearly, and the fans are ready to welcome them back with open arms.

US President Donald Trump seeks ‘real end' to Israel-Iran war, calls for ‘complete give-up' by Tehran

US President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that he is aiming for a 'real end' to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, rejecting the idea of a mere ceasefire after five days of escalating strikes. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One as he returned from the G7 summit in Canada, Trump emphasised that he wanted 'better than a ceasefire' — a 'complete give-up' by Iran. 'I'm not looking for a ceasefire, we're looking at better than a ceasefire,' Trump said. 'An end, a real end, not a ceasefire.' Trump also issued a stern warning to Iran against targeting US troops and assets in the region, stating, 'We'll come down so hard, it'd be gloves off.' The US president departed the G7 summit a day early amid the intensifying hostilities, which saw Israel conducting airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, while Tehran retaliated with missile attacks. Despite the violence, Trump has declined to confirm any direct US involvement in Israeli military actions, maintaining that American forces remain in a defensive posture. On Air Force One, Donald Trump revealed plans to convene the White House Situation Room early Tuesday morning, signalling heightened attention to the crisis. The Situation Room is the nerve centre for US national security decisions, especially during geopolitical emergencies. In a subsequent post on his Truth Social platform, US President Trump clarified he had not engaged in any peace talks with Iran. 'If they want to talk, they know how to reach me,' he wrote, adding that Iran should have accepted a previous deal that 'would have saved a lot of lives.' Since the US withdrew from the 2018 nuclear deal, Iran has increased uranium enrichment but insists it does not seek nuclear weapons. The US, Israel, and Western allies remain adamant that Iran must be prevented from acquiring a nuclear arsenal. French President Emmanuel Macron had suggested that Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada early to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Donald Trump dismissed this as 'wrong,' saying French President Macron 'has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. Much bigger than that.' Macron had indicated that the US might be ready to make a diplomatic overture, stating, 'If the United States can obtain a ceasefire, it is a very good thing.' Meanwhile, G7 leaders collectively called for 'de-escalation' in the Middle East, affirming Israel's right to self-defence and urging protection for civilians on both sides. Donald Trump had earlier sent an ominous warning to people in the Iranian capital to flee. "Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!" he wrote on Truth Social. Iranian media reported explosions and heavy air defence activity in Tehran and Natanz, a key nuclear site. The conflict has resulted in huge casualties, with Iran reporting over 200 deaths, mostly civilians, and Israel reporting dozens of civilian fatalities. Air raid sirens and missile interceptions have become frequent in both countries as tensions soar.

Muslim countries across the world are not supporting Iran due to .., Turkey and Saudi Arabia have only..., Pakistan has...

(File) Iran vs Israel: At a time when Israel has almost started a full-blown war against Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the leadership of Ali Hosseini Khamenei finds itself largely isolated on the global stage despite having long-standing ties with many allies across the world. Despite the massive infrastructural damage and civilian evacuations, Iran has received minimal diplomatic or military support from its old allies of Islamic world or even countries like Pakistan or Turkey, who call themselves the leaders of the Islamic world. In this article we will analyse the reasons which have damaged the long-standing support for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Readers should know that the Islamic countries around the world have although issued statements opposing the Israeli attack, the traditional allies of Iran like China, Russia, and fellow Muslim-majority countries—have maintained a striking silence on supporting Iran militarily. Reason behind Iran's dwindling support As per experts, the reason behind the dwindling support for Iran has been its long-standing groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Houthi rebels. The allegations against Iran that it promotes global instability and terror played a key role in the loss of support it is receiving today. While China, Turkey, Pakistan and Russia have been diplomatically supportive, they have refused to offer anything other statements. Additionally, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, and Oman have not only refused to aid Iran but have tacitly supported Israeli actions by keeping their airspace open reportedly due to the Shia-Sunni divide in the region. Readers must note that Iran has long been accused of supporting and funding terrorist organizations, affecting global and regional security. More notably, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is considered the main center of these activities. G7 labels Iran as source of terror, backs Israel's right to defend Amid the raging conflict between Israel and Iran, leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations reaffirmed their support for peace and stability in the Middle East while explicitly backing Israel's right to self-defence. More notably, the G7 leaders described Iran as the 'principal source' of regional instability and terror in a joint statement issued from their summit in Canada, as per a report by IANS news agency.
