Jason Momoa shaves off beard for the first time in 6 years ahead of ‘Dune' return: ‘I hate it'
'Aquaman' star Jason Momoa, 45, flaunted a clean-shaven look for the first time in six years as he prepares for his next role.
'God damn it, I hate it,' Momoa quipped in an Instagram reel posted on Wednesday.

The 'Game of Thrones' actor transformed his entire look as a 'kick-off' to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in 'Dune Messiah,' which was announced as the third and final film in the eight-time Oscar-winning sci-fi series.
'Only for you, Denis,' the actor said, referring to Denis Villeneuve, the director of 'Dune: Part One' and 'Dune: Part Two.'
The Hawaii native played Duncan Idaho in the 2021 film, but he did not appear in the 2024 sequel because his character died in the first film.
However, he confirmed that he's 'making a comeback' in the third film when his character is resurrected as a clone, according to an interview on the 'Today' show in March 2025.
The Hollywood hunk filmed himself shaving off his iconic facial hair in the clip, which also served as a promotion for his reusable bottled water company, Mananalu.

'I think it's been about six years, maybe a little bit more, since I did 'Dune,'' Momoa said. 'What was really special about that is that's when I started launching Mananalu. At the time, we were one of the first ones to release the aluminum bottle.'
The 'Justice League' actor prompted his company's partnership with Boomerang Water, which aimed to reuse water bottles to get 'rid of single-use plastic. For our children and for our planet.'
Momoa's son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, will be part of the highly anticipated third installment of the 'Dune' trilogy, according to Deadline.

Nakoa-Wolf was cast to play Leto II, the twin son of Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya's characters Paul Atreides and Chani.
The A-lister's son will star alongside 'Silo' actress Ida Brooke, who will portray the other twin, Ghanima.
The 'Minecraft Movie' actor shares two teenage kids, Nakoa-Wolf and daughter Lola Iolani, with his ex-wife, 'The Cosby Show' actress Lisa Bonet.
The couple's divorce was finalized in June 2024, seven years after they got married.

Momoa isn't the only person getting a new look for the movie.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Chalamet closely shaved the nape of his neck before an outing with girlfriend Kylie Jenner in St. Tropez on July 7.
The 'Call Me by Your Name' actor wore a green bandana over a navy Nike hat, so fans couldn't get a full look at how much hair had been buzzed away.
'Dune Messiah' is scheduled to be released in December 2026.

Advertisement During the July 24 episode of Entertainment Weekly's 'The Awardist' podcast, when asked in hindsight if confronting the awkward exchange truly brought him closure, Scott joked, 'No, we need to work it out.' He went on to clarify the opposite: 'Yeah, absolutely. I mean, Rider Strong, who the awkward interaction was with, didn't even remember it. And I really, truly had been carrying it around for… it was like 30 years, because it was like 1994, '95.' 6 Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter and Ben Savage as Cory Matthews in 'Boy Meets World.' Comedian Matt Rife says he's now the legal guardian of Annabelle, the 'haunted' doll
Comedian Matt Rife said he and YouTuber Elton Castee are now the legal guardians of Annabelle, the doll that famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren said was possessed by an evil spirit. "We are the legal guardians and caretakers of all 750 haunted artifacts and items in the Warren Museum, including the Annabelle doll. I must go on record and say we do not legally own items, but we are the legal guardians and caretakers of the items for at least the next five years,' Rife said in an Instagram video on Saturday. Rife, 29, announced in an Instagram post on Friday that he and Castee, 35, had purchased the Warrens' home and museum in Monroe, Connecticut, which includes their entire haunted collection of dolls and artifacts. Tony Spera, the Warrens' son-in-law and co-director of the late couple's organization, New England Society for Psychic Research, clarified to that he and his wife still own the Warrens' collection, including the Annabelle doll, and are only leasing them to Rife and Castee. "We have no plans to ever 'sell' the artifacts," he said in a statement. Ed and Lorraine Warren's paranormal investigations were turned into the horror movies "The Conjuring," "Annabelle," and "The Nun." Actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play Lorraine and Ed in the franchise. "The Conjuring: Last Rites" is the latest film in the series and will be released in September. "If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted," Rife captioned a photo of himself and Castee posing with the doll. "You also may know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I'm incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history. Ed and Lorain Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time, The Conjuring House, Amityville Horror, et…" Rife said they plan to open the house for "overnight stays and museum tours." His announcement came less than a month after paranormal investigator and Annabelle doll handler Dan Rivera died on the "Devils on the Run Tour" with the Annabelle doll. Rivera, 54, was found dead in a Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hotel room on July 13. According to E! News, a July 16 police report labeled his death as "natural," but a final cause of death won't be determined until an autopsy is completed. There have been three standalone films about Annabelle, a Raggedy Ann doll given as a gift to a nursing student who noticed strange occurrences with the doll. The nurse and her roommate called the Warrens, who "pronounced the doll demonically possessed," removed it from the home and "encased it in a glass box to contain the evil spirited entity," according to New England Society for Psychic Research. Ed Warren died in 2006 at 79, and Lorraine Warren died in 2019 at 92.
