Iconic sitcom star looks entirely different 12 years on as he attends Wimbledon
A sitcom star has been seen looking completely different as he made a Wimbledon appearance this week. The Office US star Rainn Wilson blended into the tennis fans as he enjoyed the annual sporting event.
The actor wore a khaki-coloured bucket hat and navy blue jacket as well as a bushy beard and moustache which isn't the look fans will remember from The Office US.
The US actor is best known for his iconic role of Dwight Schrute where he appeared on NBC for nine seasons. Other famous faces such as Steve Carell and John Krasinski also appeared on the series.
Rainn's character was a paper salesman and regional manager who is known for his comical habits. Rainn has a clean shaven look for his role but it looks like he's now gone for a different style.
He starred in the sitcom from 2005 to 2013. Despite the show finishing more than ten years ago, The Office became the most watched show on Netflix during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
Rainn is best known for his comedy role but has also opened up in the past about his difficult childhood. He appeared on Steven Bartlett's The Diary of A CEO podcast and talked about the abuse and trauma he faced as a child.
"I experienced a lot of pain in my life and a lot of suffering with anxiety and depression and addiction," he explained. "As I dove into recovery and the therapeutic process, I can pin that squarely on a lot of gross imbalances and trauma that I suffered as a child."
The star also revealed he was in therapy for more than 22 years to learn to undo the trauma that has haunted him for so long. "It's important to excavate and honour the pain we went through, the lies that we were told, the gaslighting that we might have undergone, religious trauma as well, all kinds of different traumas that we suffer," he added.
Rainn told the podcast host that his mother "took off" before he was two years old and left him with his father and eventually his stepmother as well. The actor said his father made a move and took him to "the jungles of Nicaragua when I was three years old," as he said. Rainn eventually settled in Washington just as he started kindergarten.
When his father remarried, Rainn said he was raised in a "loveless shell of a house" and encountered "lots of different kinds of abuse" full of rage and "gaslighting." The actor said his home life pushed him into acting and comedy.
"There's a reason why so many comedians come from painful backgrounds because comedy is what you plug in to shift your perspective away from pain and trauma just like gratitude takes you away from depression," he explained.

Peaky Blinders and Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy is taking on one of his most poignant roles to date as he plays the head of a struggling school in a new Netflix film. The streamer has just released the official first look images for the film, which is a reimagining of Max Porter's Sunday Times bestseller, Shy. Set in the mid-90s, the film follows a significant day in the life of headteacher Steve (Murphy) and his students at a last-chance reform school amidst a world that has forsaken them. The synopsis reads: "As Steve fights to protect the school's integrity and impending closure, we witness him grappling with his own mental health. "In parallel to Steve's struggles, we meet Shy (Jay Lycurgo), a troubled teen caught between his past and what lies ahead as he tries to reconcile his inner fragility with his impulse for self-destruction and violence." The film in question is Steve, which will air in select cinemas on September 19 ahead of its Netflix release on October 3. The cast also includes Tracey Ullman, Simbi Ajikawo and Emily Watson, as well as Roger Allam. Academy Award winner Murphy said he was drawn to Porter's writing, with the author also penning the scripts for Steve. He and Murphy previously collaborated on the stage adaptation of Porter's Grief is the Thing with Feathers and the short film All of This Unreal Time. On reading Shy for the first time, he told Deadline: "Max gave me that book in a proof edition before he finished it, and again it just broke my heart. "They're the sorts of things I love as a reader and as a performer, so I really wanted to do something with him." Netflix fans turn off 'incredibly disgusting' new comedy minutes in despite star-studded cast
It was created by a five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Netflix viewers have reported switching off a brand new comedy film on the platform just minutes in, slamming it as "insufferable" and "incredibly disgusting." Released on the streamer today (August 13), Fixed follows a dog named Bull (voiced by Adam Devine) who discovers he's about to be neutered and has one last hurrah with his friends. He also intends to win over the show dog he is in love with next door, Honey (Kathryn Hahn) before his operation. The animated comedy was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, a five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and the mind behind Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack. Netflix's synopsis reads: " From visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky comes Fixed, an adult animated comedy about Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he's going to be neutered in the morning! "As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong...?" Its glittering cast also includes Idris Elba as Rocco, Fred Armisen as Fetch and Bobby Moynihan as Lucky. However, despite the star power on board, it has failed to land with audiences right away. "Fixed genuinely is insufferable and I'm only like five minutes in," one viewer began, adding: "I genuinely hate this. This is just corny sex jokes. I don't wanna see an animated dog's b******* flap while he's humping a grandma's leg." Another viewer gave up after watching only the trailer, saying: "It seemed incredibly disgusting (like worse than Big Mouth) just from the three second clip I watched while hovering over the title. Will absolutely not be investigating further," while a third unimpressed Netflix fan shared: "I still wanna know HOW were the voice actors talked into doing this." Not every viewer had a visceral reaction to the film however. Jumping to its defence, one fan shared: "Just watched it. It's passable, wasn't as bad as the trailers made me think it would be but it's not a masterpiece by any means, great animation though." Speaking to Netflix's Tudum, Tartakovsky explained how the cast came to be: "Some of the material is a bit raunchy so we had to find people that were receptive to our sense of humor, and boy, did we. 'I remember a moment where Kathryn Hahn read the script and called us — she wanted her character to be as raunchy as the other guys. It was a great note. We then rewrote her character to be reflective of that idea and she absolutely killed it.'

'Incredible' Netflix film based on true events is leaving viewers in tears

"Now, even if you're not a fan of wrestling or sports at all, like me, this is a story everyone should hear." The TV and movie critic described it as "one of the best" true stories he has ever seen. Eccleston went on: "So make sure you get this film on your watch list. I actually beg you to check this one out." His TikTok clip has racked up 26y,600 views, 3,000 likes and more than 100 comments to date. One viewer, who has seen The Iron Claw, enthused: "That film is insane. I cannot believe it's true, it's amazing." Someone else who had seen the film was deeply touched, saying: "It's been on HBO part of their A24 collection btw! For anyone who has HBO. This movie broke me down and had me tearing on a plane. That ending." Sean Durkin, a Canadian-American film director and screenwriter, directed The Iron Claw. The movie's cast members include Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Lily James, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons and Holt McCallany.
