ITV confirms Britain's Got Talent: Live Final will be longer than most movies

Metro22-05-2025
ITV has confirmed the runtime for the live finale of Britain's Got Talent – so grab your popcorn and buckle in.
The long-running reality competition series – judged by Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, KSI – is back for another year to showcase the UK's best variety acts from powerhouse singers to astonishing performance groups.
After weeks of build-up we have almost completed our line-up of finalists.
Jasmine Rice, Vinnie McKee, Stacey Leadbeatter, Joseph Charm, The Blackouts, Ping Pong Pang, Olly Pearson and Hear Our Voice are so far confirmed to be battling it out for a spot in the Royal Variety Performance and a chance to change their lives.
Now, the broadcaster has confirmed that the finale will take place on Sunday, May 31, at Hammersmith Apollo in West London.

The runtime comes in at a huge two hours and 45 minutes (think The Lord of the Rings and Wicked: Part One). It will start airing at 7pm on ITV.
The almost-three-hour long format is similar to last year – which saw singer Sydnie Christmas crowned as the winner – which came in with a runtime close to two hours and 30 minutes.
The show has seen plenty of ups and downs as it has approached the final including act Teddy Magic, 8, pulling out ahead of the semi-final.
'After discussions with Teddy's parents and the production team, it has been jointly agreed that Teddy won't perform in this year's semi-finals, but BGT hopes to see Teddy again in a future series,' a spokesperson told The Sun.
Elsewhere, singer Max Fox, 35, from Blackpool, was eliminated following his semi-final but has teased hopes of returning to the Britain's Got Talent stage for the finale anyway.
'This might be the end of BGT for now… or maybe not – wildcard, anyone?
But whatever happens next, I'm excited for the future and all the magic still to come. The dream's not over, it's only just beginning,' he said in the caption to a recent Instagram post.
And finalist Stacey was forced to take to social media to call out trolls sharing negative comments about her. More Trending
'I have seen so many not so kind comments since waking up this morning! Which I guess is understandable, as people get upset, angry and frustrated when they don't get the results that they want.
'But please remember I am a human being and I have feelings. All the other contestants who you all supported are amazing, beyond amazing, and all deserved a spot and are now my lifelong friends,' she shared and was met with huge support from fans.
All will come to a head next Sunday as the acts put on their best performances yet for a chance to win £500,000.

Sci-fi fans can binge all 4 seasons of ‘mind-blowing' series for free on ITVX

If you're in search of a solid genre romp, ITV has added four seasons of a Roswell-set alien mystery series to entertain you this weekend. Based on Melinda Metz's Roswell High series of novels, The CW sci-fi drama Roswell, New Mexico is about a bunch of extraterrestrial beings who infiltrate small-town America – except, they're the good guys. With a third and fourth season that have never aired in the UK before, the first season kicks off with the return of Liz Ortecho, a scientist played by Jeanine Mason, who finds not much has changed in her hometown. Amid government cuts in biomedical research, Liz is forced back home to live with her father after first leaving town in the wake of her younger sister Rosa's death. Many of her classmates from her high school days are still stuck in Roswell – the infamous ground zero for alien activity in the US – including her former crush, Max Evans (Nathan Dean Parsons), who's now a local police officer. As Liz starts to get close to Max again (sparks naturally flying), she learns he isn't quite what he seems. In a twist straight out of Apple TV Plus's Sugar, Max is in fact a member of an alien race that crash-landed in the 1940s. He has kept his unearthliness hidden all this time. But a government conspiracy threatens to expose Max and his family – and could endanger not only their lives but also his newfound romance with Liz… Dun, dun, dun! If this sounds a bit like The Vampire Diaries or Pretty Little Liars type of soapy drama, it has a couple of stars from those shows – Michael Trevino and Tyler Blackburn. Other cast members include Nathan Parsons, Michael Vlamis, Jeanine Mason, Lily Cowles, and Heather Hemmens. Fans have long heaped the highest compliments onto the show, which first aired between 2019 and 2022 in the US and maintains a glowing record of Google reviews today. Saskia Robbiati described the show as 'amazing' and the chemistry between Liz and Max is 'undeniable', adding: 'I really appreciate how relevant the show is to today's issues, focusing on immigration and all forms of prejudice with humanity and depth. 'The show is action-packed, the chemistry and acting are on point and the mystery is really interesting.' Stephanie praised: 'Roswell, New Mexico is one of my new favorite shows on television! It's amazing and has a great cast, plus I'm a die hard Originals and Vampire Diaries fan.' James Bertamini chimed in: 'Show is absolutely terrific!! Roswell is a must see for anyone who loves alien movies or shows. More Trending 'I put off watching it for years (although an alien buff) . I thought Hollywood did Roswell to death, but this show is different. The storyline is well thought-out, and the acting is superb. My hat is off to the creators of this mind-blowing series.' Meanwhile, the show also has a respectable 77% score from critics on review site Rotten Tomatoes, while audience ratings put it at 62%. So, with a total of 52 episodes to sink your teeth into, surely that's your week's TV sorted? View More » Roswell, New Mexico is available to stream on ITVX. Got a story? The Gallagher brothers heralded their return to the stage in August 2024, taking to social media to announce: "This is it, this is happening. The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised." At 58, Kate took her children to last week's Wembley Stadium concert and evidently had a blast stepping back in time. She didn't just dance the night away; she elevated her experience by viewing the iconic London performance from the vantage point of a generous stranger's shoulders, reports the Mirror. Kate expressed her gratitude to the "gallant stranger" for hoisting her up in an Instagram post, where she also shared a selfie with him to commemorate the event. (Image: instagram) (Image: instagram) (Image: instagram) She captioned the post: "For all those catching the @oasis lads #murrayfield tonight you are in for the time of your life . This was us last week at Wembley - loving every second of it . Special mention has to go to the gallant stranger ( bottom right) who hauled me onto his shoulders for #champagnesupernova to relive my 20's at #knebworth 96. I can only assume he didn't realise a) I'm heavier than I look and b) how long that song actually is ! ! ! Do hope he's not spent all week at the chiropractor but eternally grateful!". One follower commented: "It is so lovely to see you enjoying life and smiling again enjoy every moment you deserve it," another wrote: "Go on Girl! ! Hope you had a supersonic time! ! ! !" A third wrote: "You and your family deserve to be happy and enjoying through all you have been through." Some fans drew comparisons between the mystery man and Gareth Southgate, with one writing: "Haha! Looks like Sir Gareth Southgate had you on his shoulders," whilst another said: "He could be Gareth Southgate's long lost brother." Oasis will carry on with their Edinburgh performances on Tuesday (12 August) before making their way to Ireland for two gigs at Croke Park in Dublin on 16 and 17 August. The Gallagher brothers, aged 58, will then jet off to Canada and America for performances in Toronto, Chicago, LA and Mexico City before returning to London for two additional major concerts at Wembley towards the end of September. The brothers will continue their jam-packed itinerary with stops in Asia, Australia and South America, wrapping up their comeback tour on 23 November in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Her friend was gobsmacked by what she saw and Princess told her: "Usually it's like old men, going on about my toes Sometimes they'll be like, 'let me take you on a date.'" In a piece to camera, she added: "I can't even read this message out, it's actually disgusting. "I do love my job and I do love social media and I do love interacting with people but there is a dark side to social media that people don't see, and there are a lot of inappropriate messages that…yeah some of them can be horrible. "Like I'm literally 17, that's actually not OK." Later in the episode, Princess was hanging out with her dad and mentioned the messages she is receiving. Looking up with alarm, Peter asked what sort of messages, and his daughter said it's often men asking to see her feet and so on. With a look of alarm, Peter replied: "Please God that's the only thing they ask for." But Princess delivered more bad news when she told him they also ask: "Are you finally legal now?" Peter grimaced and put a hand to his face, before Princess found the message she had shown her friend.
