Naidu to review preparations for Vizag Yoga Day event tomorrow

: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will hold a high-level review meeting on preparations for
International Yoga Day
event in the city on Monday. The Yoga Day will be held along the 26.5-km beach stretch from RK Beach's Kalimata temple to Bheemili.
The main stage will be at Kalimatha temple, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, governor Sayed Abdul Nazeer, CM Chandrababu Naidu and his deputy Pavan Kalyan are expected to participate.
In case of rain, the venue will be shifted to Andhra University Engineering College Grounds, where the authorities have covered the entire ground with pandals.
The govt has been preparing to perform yoga with around five lakh people on that particular day on the entire beach stretch, including 31,000 people in 600 buses from Srikakulam, 36,000 in 700 buses from the undivided Vizianagaram district, and around 45,000 in 800 buses from Anakapalli and others.
The city alone will perform with more than three lakh people.
According to the officials, around five lakh people will take part on the event. Hundreds of yoga teachers have trained thousands of people for the event. On the beach road stretch, around 127 compartments measuring 200x14 metres will be equipped with water, medical support, and volunteers. There will be small stages on the beach stretch and various schools and colleges with sound systems and LED screens.

Naidu, during his visit to Port City on Monday, will inaugurate the deck, a newly constructed building in the VMRDA complex, and also lay a few foundation stones for the MSMEs. He will review the arrangements with higher officials of the state who were assigned to take care of the preparations for the event, along with the district administration. CM will reach the city at around 11 am and will leave the city by 5 pm.
The police authorities are now inspecting all key junctions in the city and ensuring free traffic flow during the event, as well as restricting entries at various places. The district authorities conducted a meeting with PSUs and other major industries, including HPCL, Steel Plant, Coromandel, Visakha Port, and others, to join hands with them.

The DNA of former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani has been matched with remains recovered from the Air India flight AI 171, confirmed Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel Sunday afternoon. Rupani's son was in Ahmedabad Saturday to provide a blood sample for the DNA identification process, which was held at B J Medical College. Speaking at the mortuary complex of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Health Minister Patel said, 'The DNA cross-verification of former chief minister Vijay Rupani has been completed. As soon as he received this news, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met with the family of Rupaniji at their residence in Gandhinagar and assured them of all help in the transport of his mortal remains and final rites, as per the decisions of the family.' Vijay Rupani was an MLA from Rajkot, and he resided there. His final rites are expected to be conducted in the city, with preparations for the same having begun, as per sources. However, the family has yet to make an official statement regarding the same. Earlier, a close relative said Rupani was set to fly to London earlier this month to join his wife and daughter there but postponed his trip by a few days because of the Assembly bypolls on June 19. A two-term chief minister, Rupani was the BJP in-charge for Punjab, where a bypoll is set to be held in Ludhiana West. There are also two bypolls scheduled in Gujarat, one in Visvadar in Junagadh and the other in Kadi in Mehsana.
