RB Leipzig are temporarily back into the qualification zone for the Champions League thanks to a 3-2 Bundesliga win at VfL Wolfsburg on Friday.
Leipzig's early pressure paid off when Lois Openda drilled a low shot into the net to give the guests the lead in the 11th minute.

Benjamin Sesko had a goal disallowed in the 22nd, and Wolfsburg could have levelled just a minute later but Bence Dardai's effort hit the post and the player sent the rebound over the bar.
Good for Leipzig, who didn't took long to extend their lead as Xavi Simons found the target in the 26th.
Simons completed his brace with a stunning long-distance effort in the 49th before Kilian Fischer pulled one back for Wolfsburg in the 58th.
The hosts looked close to get at least a point when Andreas Skov Olsen added a second in the 75th but they didn't manage to score an equalizer.
Leipzig moved up to fourth and into the Champions League qualification zone, but Mainz can retake the position if they win at Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Wolfsburg, meanwhile, remained 12th, but far enough from the relegation zone.
On Saturday, champions Bayer Leverkusen welcome Union Berlin, while leaders Bayern Munich host the top clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Man United given transfer green light to sign dream Matheus Cunha teammate

Youri Tielemans has refused to rule out a transfer this summer after being linked with Manchester United for years. Tielemans, 28, joined Aston Villa from Leicester City on a free transfer a month before United paid Chelsea an initial fee of £55million for Mason Mount in the summer of 2023. The former Anderlecht midfielder is halfway through the four-year contract he signed that offseason. Advertisement After an inconsistent first season at the club, Tielemans was almost ever-present last term, with the club's players and supporters voting him their Player of the Season. He has now acknowledged how well he performed during a press conference before Belgium played Wales in a 2026 World Cup qualifier - while refusing to rule out a move away from his current club. "I have made progress in all areas. Advertisement "Does that make me think about a transfer? Nothing is ruled out, but I am not really thinking about that. "I am doing well at Villa. I feel a lot of confidence from the club and the coach." The comments open the door to a potential move to United, should the club decide to test the waters with an offer for him. Tielemans' individual performances were not enough to secure Champions League qualification for next season, as Villa losing at Old Trafford on the final day means they will instead play in the Europa League. In an Instagram post after that match, Tielemans acknowledged it was "frustrating to end the season this way." A new midfielder is among United's priority targets, with Christian Eriksen set to depart the club when his contract expires at the end of this month. There is also still uncertainty over the future of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo due to their respective current contract situations. Advertisement Tielemans, though, could complement the already-signed Matheus Cunha and the prospective arrival of Bryan Mbeumo. There is the potential for Bruno Fernandes to form a partnership with the Belgian in central midfield. The Belgian maestro's creativity could provide an extra edge for United in attack, and help unleash Cunha's full potential at his new club. Official – Inter Milan Appoint 2010 Treble Hero Cristian Chivu As New Coach

Official – Inter Milan Appoint 2010 Treble Hero Cristian Chivu As New Coach Inter Milan have appointed 2010 treble winner Cristian Chivu as the club's new coach to replace Simone Inzaghi. The Nerazzurri confirmed the Romanian's appointment in an announcement on their homepage. He has signed a two-year contract until the end of June 2027. Advertisement Inter Milan have spent the past few days searching for a new coach. Earlier this week, Simone Inzaghi confirmed that he was stepping down as coach. The 49-year-old joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. There were a few notable candidates on Inter's shortlist, according to reports. The Nerazzurri had been working on snapping up Cesc Fabregas to become Inzaghi's successor. However, Como President Mirwan Suwarson strongly rebuffed the Nerazzurri's interest, and stated that the Lariani would refuse to release the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Genoa coach Patrick Vieira was another name reportedly on Inter's shortlist. (Photo by) But in the end, it is Cristian Chivu who Inter have appointed as their new coach. Advertisement The Romanian had already had a long association with Inter going back to his playing days. Chivu joined the Nerazzurri from Roma in the summer of 2007. Along with the Giallorossi, he had also previously played for Ajax. Chivu would spent six seasons playing for Inter before hanging up his boots. Then in 2019, the former defender returned to Inter Milan to coach at various youth team levels. In 2021 he became the coach of the Primavera, or Under-19 team, a role he held for three seasons. This campaign, Chivu became the head coach of Parma, replacing Fabio Pecchia in midseason. This was his first senior coaching position. Advertisement Chivu guided the Gialloblu to Serie A safety after a bad run of form under Pecchia had put them in a precarious position. The thirteen matches that Chivu was in charge of Parma for constitute his only senior coaching experience. Therefore, the 44-year-old will have a lot to prove with Inter. As a player, meanwhile, as a player Chivu made 168 appearances for Inter across all competitions. He scored three goals for the club. Notably, the Romanian helped Inter to the European Treble of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League in the 2009-10 season. He started against Bayern Munich in that Champions League final.
