Morris breaks own world record again to win pursuit title
Anna Morris broke her own world record for the third time in a week to win the women's 4km individual pursuit title at the British Track Championships in Manchester. The Welshwoman had broken her own record twice in one day when winning gold at last week's European Track Cycling Championships. She made it a hat-trick by shaving off more than a second to claim victory with a time of four minutes 24.060 seconds at the National Cycling Centre."The motivation was really high, especially on my home track in front of a home crowd," she said. "I am feeling it a bit after racing at Euros, so I wasn't sure how much I had left in me, but the crowd definitely carried me in those last four laps."I was just trying to keep my head down in that last kilometre, trying to keep pedalling as much as I could, they felt like they were giving up, but I could hear the crowd, so I just tried to hold on."I often feel like I am living someone else's life sometimes, it is quite surreal. But I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had."It was Morris' second victory at the championships after winning the women's scratch race on Friday.

The Albanian international was subjected to plenty of criticism during the season for a string of ineffective performances after Rangers splashed out £3.5 million to land him last summer. 3 Nedim Bajrami says he's focused on Rangers but didn't rule out a summer move following links to Serie A Credit: Willie Vass 3 The midfielder made 44 appearances for Gers last season and scored five goals Credit: Willie Vass 3 He shot to fame when he scored the quickest-ever Euros goal for Albania against Italy last summer Credit: EPA He's been linked with a move away from Ibrox with former club Sassuolo reportedly interested in bringing him back to Italy after their promotion to Serie A. However, Bajrami is determined to hit the ground running under new boss Russell Martin. The 26-year-old was honoured with a mural in his family's home town of Tetevo depicting his goal for Albania after 26 seconds at Euro 2024 - the fastest-ever goal at the European Championships. And he was quizzed about his future. Bajrami said: "In football, you never say never. "But I am currently focused only on Rangers. "It is a special emotion to be back in my home town. "My advice to everyone is to never stop believing in yourself." Bajrami made 44 appearances for Rangers last season in all competitions and scored five goals for the club, including the opening goal in the League Cup Final against Celtic in December, which they eventually lost on penalties. Meanwhile, Rangers cult hero Gennaro Gattuso has bagged the biggest job of his managerial career. £6m Rangers star Danilo spotted doing gruelling sessions on beach in Brazil as he gears up for make or break pre-season The 47-year-old is taking over from Luciano Spalletti as boss of Italy. Jack Grealish sends seven word message from holiday after being axed by Man City
Jack Grealish was left out of the Manchester City squad that headed to the Club World Cup but he's determined to remain in top shape ahead of a potential transfer Jack Grealish has underlined his motivation and desire after posting a snap of himself on a run during the off-season. The Manchester City star is not with his team-mates at the Club World Cup after he was left out of the squad. It is the latest potentially telling blow for the £100million signing, who has continued to tumble down the pecking order with his minutes decreasing. Now there is talk of a summer exit for the ex-Aston Villa man with all parties keen to find a resolution. Grealish has attracted attention from fellow Premier League clubs and those overseas with permanent and loan moves both possible. Whatever happens the England international, who has fallen out of favour with his country, should be in stellar shape. He posted a picture of himself topless on Instagram after enjoying a run in the sun as he included words: "Late night runs on holiday. Feeling good". Pep Guardiola left Grealish out of the matchday squad for the final day of the season as City downed Fulham, but much of the talk post-match was the omission of the club's record signing, but the manager maintained there was no issue between the pair. READ MORE: Pep Guardiola makes Club World Cup admission and discusses Johann Cruyff influence He said: "It's nothing personal with Jack. I am the person who fought for him to come here and the person who fought for him to stay here this season and the next season. I am the one who said 'I want Jack Grealish '. Now he didn't come because he didn't come but not something else. What happens in the future is a job for Txiki [Begiristain], Hugo [Viana] and the agents." Grealish has previously been an influential figure on the blue side of Manchester and enjoyed his best year when the team claimed the treble. Since then his impact on games has decreased and new arrivals at the Etihad have hampered his game time. As a result he's no longer part of the England picture. Gareth Southgate left him out for last summer's Euros and now Thomas Tuchel is at the helm, but the former Chelsea boss insists he needs games to underline his worth and get back to his best. He said: "I love Jack for his personality and of course his talent. He is a very unique player who can handle big pressure on the field. He is never shy of pressure. It's the opposite. He grows in big matches but he's a player who needs minutes and minutes and minutes and simply does not get them for a very long time. That's basically everything. Nothing has changed."
