Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae Admits Feeling ‘Very Nervous' About Season 3

Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun (player 456) in the global hit Squid Game, has opened up about his mixed feelings ahead of the show's highly anticipated third season. At Netflix's Tudum event, the actor revealed he is 'very nervous" about how fans will react to the new season's storyline. After his character's intense journey from winning the deadly games in season one to facing tough setbacks in season two, Lee is eager but anxious to see if viewers will embrace what's next. The third season is set to continue the thrilling saga, with fans worldwide waiting with bated breath.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Lee Jung-jae said, 'We are going to be releasing quite soon, I am very nervous. I know that a lot of you out there are curious about what's going to happen in season three, but all of us are more curious about how much you're going to enjoy it. So I can't wait, I'm very nervous."
Lee Byung-hun, who plays the mysterious Front Man in Squid Game, shared that he read the scripts for both seasons two and three together. He found the story very well written and full of suspense. He also said that he was once again amazed by the director Hwang Dong-hyuk's talent and the way the story was planned.
Revealing his feelings about Squid Game season 3's ending, Lee added, 'I'm happy with how it ended but I know that the fans out there, they each have what they want to see happen, so I really am curious about how they're going to respond to it. And I'm very nervous to find out."
As per Tudum, 'Squid Game Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Season 2's bloody cliffhanger. Although Gi-hun is at his lowest point yet, the Squid Game stops for no one. So Gi-hun will be forced to make some important choices in the face of overwhelming despair as he and the surviving players are thrust into deadlier games that test everyone's resolve. With each round, their choices lead to increasingly grave consequences."
Other than Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun, the upcoming season, which is scheduled to start streaming from June 27, will also feature Wi Ha-jun, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Lee David, Roh Jae-won and Park Gyu-young.
