Tomorrow X Together Joins BTS With A New Bestseller
The Star Chapter: Together Debuts on the Billboard 200
Tomorrow X Together launches The Star Chapter: Together at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 this frame. The project earns the K-pop favorites a seventh appearance inside the top 10 on the all-encompassing ranking of the most consumed albums in America. As it arrives, the boy band matches several other names for a highly coveted spot in Billboard chart history.
TXT Joins BTS, Ateez, Seventeen and Twice
With seven top 10s in its discography, Tomorrow X Together is now on the same level as Ateez, BTS, Seventeen, and Twice. All five acts have sent the same number of projects into the highest tier, and several have managed a seventh just in the past few weeks. Both BTS and Twice recently collected new top 10 wins in America, and all five are expected to deliver additional material, if not before the end of 2025, then in early 2026.
TXT Beats Stray Kids
Before The Star Chapter: Together, Tomorrow X Together was tied with Stray Kids at six top 10s apiece on the Billboard 200. That meant the two groups were matched for fifth place on this all-time list. Now, Tomorrow X Together jumps into a tie for first while Stray Kids decline to sixth. Stray Kids are also known for their frequent releases, so a seventh top 10 could be coming soon.
First-Week Sales Propel TXT to No. 1
Luminate reports that in its first full tracking week, The Star Chapter: Together shifted 65,000 equivalent units in the U.S. Of that sum, 62,000 were pure sales – enough to send the K-pop act to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.
Most No. 1s on the Top Album Sales Chart
Tomorrow X Together also moves up on several historic lists connected to the Top Album Sales ranking. The group breaks its tie with Seventeen and now claims the most No. 1s ever among K-pop stars, while also advancing to 10 top 10s. In doing so, the boy band becomes just the second South Korean act to rack up double-digit appearances in the top 10 on the purchase-only tally, joining BTS, as that group has done so 11 times.

Female-Led ‘East Of Wall' Filmmakers Discuss Their Docu-Fiction Story
During a time when superhero films and sequels reign supreme at the box office, there is a refreshingly original and daring type of on-screen storytelling happening, that is worthy of your full attention. Sony Pictures Classics' East of Wall is a docu-fiction film that follows a horse training family in South Dakota, as they navigate modern business challenges, strained relationships and having to face heartbreaking loss & trauma head-on. Arriving in theaters on August 15, I sat down with East of Wall writer/director Kate Beecroft, as well as the film's stars, Tabatha Zimiga and her daughter Porshia, which the film is based around. Being a scripted narrative with a few seasoned actors in the mix, but coming from their real life experiences, I first wondered what are the facts of this story, and what had to be creatively written and enhanced upon. Kate said, 'So, I lived with this family for three years before we started shooting. We experienced a lot together and we shared a lot. So, when I was crafting this script, it was stories and moments that they've shared with me from their past. Then, also things that we've witnessed together and have gone through together, and my experiences watching them. We have Scoot McNairy's character, who plays Roy, and that's the kind of fiction that gets weaved through. But yeah, it's really just them.' With Tabatha and Porshia not being trained actors and playing themselves on-screen, I was curious of their creative process with Kate, in making sure that they felt comfortable acting on-camera, but did not lose their genuine nature. 'Well, exactly that is super important for telling this kind of story,' Kate said, 'So, the crew was really small. It was intimate. They were all people that I knew Tabby and Porshia would trust. So, building that team was really important to make them feel comfortable.' Tabatha added: 'To be able to tell the story and work with everybody and trust them - it's really not hard to trust Kate. I felt safe with Kate right away, to be around her - and like she said, she stayed with us for three years. We got to know each other really well and she always gave us freedom to be who we are, and if we didn't like the way something was done, she'd give us freedom to express ourselves and tell her how we thought we would do that. And then, we'd go from there.' As for this story about horse training & selling to the unique bond of family, I wondered what they hope that Americans and the world-at-large see of their South Dakota lifestyle and the world that you live in, and understand better about their creative and individual ways. Porshia said, 'That everything's not ran how it's seemed to be - like our ranch is not ran by a man, it's ran by my mom - and most people don't understand that. I think I want them to see how much effort we've put into this and it shows how much emotion it will impact.' Kate added: 'It's what she said about most people think that ranches are run by men, but this woman is running a ranch with a bunch of kids and horses and cattle. It's really exciting to be able to showcase - there's a resurgence of the Westerns right now, right? Everyone's making a Western, it feels, and to be able to have a Western that feels modern and with women at the forefront of it is really exciting.' While we live in a time in America that can be quite divisive, with some perhaps choosing to judge a book by its cover, what do these East of Wall filmmakers hope that audiences will take away from this very human story, after watching it play out on the big screen? Kate said, 'Well for me, I think sometimes there's a divide in Hollywood, as well - like mid-America or marginalized communities not seeing themselves represented accurately in Hollywood. And so, it's like - why go bother to see a film? Maybe I'll just go see a Marvel film, instead of an emotionally impactful film. So for me, I'm hoping that people are being able to see their life reflected on-screen, and for people in these communities, which this film is about. So, that's important to me - and that's also why I didn't cast Hollywood actors to play these women. I wanted them to play themselves, just to show more diversity, new faces, new souls, new voices.' With trauma playing a leading force within this film's overall theme, I was curious what each of them perhaps learned even more about trauma, through their filmmaking experiences here. Tabatha said, 'Well, it really helps you act. It really does, being able to have experiences and wisdom way beyond your years and stuff you never thought you would have to go through or keep back there. It was a very big growing moment to do the movie. I was pretty much working through it at the same time as utilizing it as a skill for the betterment of yourself and to put something out so beautiful.' Porshia added: 'Being able to push and pull in-and-out through your body with the trauma, so you could do the scene how they want it, you want it - with being able to control your emotions.' As I concluded my conversation with this East of Wall creative team, I left Kate with one last question - What do you hope that this type of innovative filmmaking does for the future of on-screen storytelling moving forward, for both studios to see and understand, as well as the public to better comprehend? 'Great question,' Kate said. 'You know, I think I want people to be able to take away that like - discovering new talent, that to take more risks for Hollywood and studios take more risks, because getting an indie film made is really hard. Everyone's very scared to put money up for anything, and to know that we had great reviews from The Hollywood Reporter and Variety and IndieWire - to be seen by them and highlighted by them is huge. Also, winning the Audience Award at Sundance - to show this innovative kind of like different storytelling - it's working because I think people are able to step into their lives more than you would if it was a Hollywood actor playing them, you know? So, I'm excited. I love docu-fiction so much.'

11 Highlights From KCON Los Angeles 2025
KCON LA concluded its massive three-day Korean Culture festival on August 1–3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Arena, with over 125,000 attendees on-site, and many more joining virtually through digital platforms. Since 2012, KCON has served as a connector between K-culture (encompassing K-pop, K-dramas, K-beauty, and more) and American fans, establishing itself as a leader in the global K-pop music scene. The event was streamed worldwide on Prime Video and Twitch through a partnership with Amazon Prime, bringing the stage to a broader audience (in addition to curating K-pop playlists for Amazon Music users). It's no wonder that the convention remains so popular that the city of Los Angeles officially designated August 1, 2025, as 'KCON Day,' in recognition of the world's largest K-Culture Fan and Artist festival, typically happening on that weekend since 2012. This year, there have been so many incredible highlights to KCON – inside and outside of the convention center. From the X-STAGE – showcasing K-pop rookies making their mark internationally to hosting a fan meetup with Korean actor/singer Yim Si-wan – to the DREAM STAGE – fans having the opportunity to dance with their idols, there was always something to do. Highlights from KCON LA 2025 On the evening before KCON, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and CJ ENM hosted a K-Culture Night to kick off the KCON weekend, featuring Korean celebrities, performances, and creatives taking the stage to perform or share their thoughts. Korean American singer/actor Eric Nam served as the MC, interviewing Korean actor/singer Yim Si-wan (Squid Game), with performances by Stage Fighter winner CHOIHOJONG, J-Pop's IS:SUE, Korean rapper Lee Young Ji, and K-pop group P1Harmony. It was a fun night filled with laughter, tears, and fantastic interactions with their favorite idols. It was a great start to a whole weekend of K-culture and music. McDonald's has been a staple at KCON for the past few years. This year, they brought their Snack Wrap Showdown and booth, handing out chicken snack wraps, and offering a chance to win a few prizes. To add some fun for the K-pop fans, WayBetter and IS:SUE made surprise appearances at different times throughout the weekend, handing out snack wraps as they walked by the booth. It was so exciting to be handed a snack by an idol, whom fans could be hilariously heard saying, 'a snack by a 'snack'.' Day 1 of the M Countdown Stage was really fun with its references to the massive hit animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters. The show opened with the film's villain, Gwi-ma, showing up to address the crowd about finding a K-pop group to help him steal more souls. Lo and behold, the voice of Gwi-ma, Lee Byung-hyun, showed up to welcome the audience to KCON LA 2025. The iconic actor then went on to introduce the first performances of the night, NCT 127 (who closed the night as well). It was very fitting to have Lee as Gwi-ma to introduce a powerful boy group. The KPop Demon Hunters reference continued with izna's performance of Huntrix's Golden. Three of their members – Jeemin, Koko, and Jungeun – dressed as the animated trio and properly sealed the honmoon during their performance, which ended with golden streamers and lights reflected across the stage. It was entertaining to see the popular song, which has become a cultural phenomenon, referenced by the K-pop world. On Thursday, July 31, and Friday, August 1, JO1 held a Pop-Up event for their JAM – the fandom for the group – at a café in Los Angeles, not too far from the Los Angeles Convention Center. Fans lined up to enter the lovely, decorated space filled with JO1 photo ops and an opportunity to win a signed Polaroid of a member. Several members from the group showed up behind the counter to serve special fans throughout the day, making it an even more noteworthy experience for those who waited hours for their idols. It was exciting to witness fans cheering inside the café as members arrived, took drink orders, and served them. Several hardcore fans had traveled from Japan and Korea to participate in the pop-up, and nearly cried when seeing the group close up behind the counter. The drinks themselves were curated explicitly by their team for the event, and they were delicious. The Korean actor is just naturally funny. From the Academy Museum event to his X-Stage, he's just been a good sport with his fans, putting on dog ears and playing games, including a Korean childhood game shown in Squid Game, Jegichagi (Korean hackey sack), which the actor boasted he's pretty good at. Throughout the interview, he kept throwing aegyos (cute displays of affection) to fans, which left many fans touched by the popular actor. In an unexpected collaboration, ZEROBASEONE's Hanbin and rapper Lee Young-ji engaged in a dance battle, both showcasing extraordinary tutting and waacking skills. The two-minute performance left jaws on the floor, including professional dancers, who were impressed by the duo. It's known that before becoming an idol, Hanbin was a professional dancer (backup dancer for BTS and Wanna One) and dance instructor. However, known mainly for her rap skills, hilarious commentary, and hosting, Lee's dance skills were impressive. Fourth-generation J-pop group JO1 and fifth-generation K-pop groups MEOVV and izna covered classic and popular K-pop songs from the previous generations. JO1, who previously covered SEVENTEEN's 'Super' at KCON LA 2023, paid respects to the group again with an incredible rendition of SEVENTEEN's 'Fear' this year. Their synchronization was fantastic, especially hearing it performed by JO1's stunning vocals. MEOVV honored the second-generation group, Brown Eyed Girls, with their version of 'Abracadabra.' It's quite cute to see how the MEOVV performed this song, as two of the members weren't born yet when Brown Eyed Girls debuted back in 2006. izna performed the fourth-generation (and now disbanded) group IZ*ONE's 'Fiesta.' Dressed in flowy pink and white outfits, the adorable seven-member group reinterpreted the original choreography, making it their own. The popular K-pop group was all around, non-stop, during KCON. From their Artist Stage to the Meet-and-Greet to performing and hosting for all three days of the M Countdown stage, they were everywhere all at once. It was surprising to hear another announcement of ZEROBASEONE every day, doing a new gig. It's impressive, and it came as no surprise that this talented group of nine members can do it all. It is almost every dancer's dream to dance alongside their favorite artist. KCON's DREAM Stage allows that to happen for lucky fans who can make it to the final stage. It's truly inspiring to see the effort fans put into their performances and the chance to dance with and for their artist. In this case, the fans could dance alongside NCT 127, MONSTA X, and HOSHI X WOOZI (SEVENTEEN'S HxW). Seeing the fairies given to several fans after the performance was endearing, especially seeing their faces light up. It's truly special. The members of P1Harmony are young and funny when it comes to variety shows and interviews, so having them perform a live, fun set of games at the Chi Forest booth was amusing to watch. The members created drink concoctions using the sparkling water, fruits, and other scents. It was just a fun and sweet experience for fans to witness their idol up close and personal. Another hilarious moment with the group was during their Artist Stage. P1Harmony leader Keeho had fans chanting the last part of his name during their Artist Stage set, which left him slightly embarrassed, as he realized that when he said, 'Kee,' they responded with 'Ho.' For many who have been attending KCON for many years, this was a significant moment in K-pop history as MONSTA X returned as a group (I.M unfortunately could not attend due to a back injury). With the many military discharges within the past few months from the group, who celebrated 10 years as a group in May, it was heartwarming to have them together, making new music (soon). It was also a nice introduction to the group for newer fans who may not have been aware of the superstar group. It was also touching to see the second-generation group embrace fellow second-generation artist Jackson Wang (of GOT7), who performed solo the same evening. At the end of the show, all the artists come on stage to wave at fans and bow together with their members or alone. Since Wang performed alone, the members of MONSTA X grabbed his hands and bowed together to the audience. It was such an incredible moment to witness, showcasing the love and friendship these idols have with each other. For more information on KCON LA and other KCON-based events, click here.
