Hassan Kim, bad and hurt. We're giving a ton of at bats to Estuary Ruiz and Michael Conforto, and now Alex Call since the deadline. Conforto, we have to just acknowledge this because he's the one that is getting the most flack because he signed a big contract and people know his name. I was in. I thought he was going to be great. I really did. I was totally sold. This was probably one of my biggest whiffs of the season. He's been atrocious, and truly, I know that they've now brought in Call, trying to make it more of a platoon situation. But no matter how they've shook it out, Conforto, that's the guy. I mean, these other small guys you've mentioned, I mean, sure, they're playing more now, but Conforto's up to you know, almost 400 plate appearances. At a .627 OPS. So that's been the real consistent weak spot that has not changed. Close

Pirates recall relievers Evan Sisk and Colin Holderman from Triple-A; cut lefty Ryan Borucki
CHICAGO (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled left-handed pitcher Evan Sisk and right-hander Colin Holderman from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday before their series opener against the Cubs in Chicago. In a corresponding move, the Pirates designated lefty Ryan Borucki for assignment. Right-hander Cam Sanders had been optioned to Indianapolis on Wednesday following a 12-5 loss at Milwaukee that extended the last-place Pirates' slide to five games. Sisk, a 28-year-old rookie reliever, was acquired from Kansas City at the trade deadline in a deal that sent starter Bailey Falter to the Royals. Sisk appeared in five games with Kansas City in two stints, in April and May, with no decisions in 5 1/3 innings and a 1.69 ERA. The 29-year-old Holderman last pitched for the Pirates on May 19, and was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in 14 relief appearances before being sent to the minors. Over four major league seasons with the Mets and Pirates, Holderman is 8-10 with a 4.12 ERA. Borucki is 15-12 with 4.36 ERA over eight seasons with Toronto, Seattle and Pittsburgh. He was 1-3 with 5.28 ERA in 35 games and 30 2/3 innings with the Pirates this season. Borucki allowed three runs in one inning to the surging Brewers in his final appearance, on Tuesday when Milwaukee routed the Pirates 14-0. ___ AP MLB:

Cincinnati Open 2025: World's No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka upset by Elena Rybakina in straight sets
It's been a busy year for women's No. 1 tennis player Aryna Sabalenka. She's made deep runs in every grand slam event so far, reaching the final in the Australia Open and French Open and getting to the semifinal round at Wimbledon. Sabalenka has done plenty of winning this year, but individual titles have been tough to achieve. Unfortunately for Sabalenka, that was also the case at the 2025 Cincinnati Open. Sabalenka reached the quarterfinals at the event before she was eliminated by Elena Rybakina on Friday in straight sets. Sabalenka couldn't seem to find her stride in the match, especially early. Rybakina took full advantage, jumping out to a 6-1 win in the first set. Sabalenka showed more fight in the second set, but couldn't overcome Rybakina's early momentum. Rybakina took the second set 6-4, winning the match. It marks the fifth time in her career Rybakina has picked up a win over Sabalenka. This story will be updated.
