GUNMAASTER G9 will see Emraan Hashmi in a never-before-seen action avatar, promising stylized visuals and emotionally charged storytelling that appeals to a wide audience.
Director Aditya Datt, known for Table No. 21, the Commando franchise, and the recent OTT series Bad Cop, sees the film as a full-circle moment.
'When we made Aashiq Banaya Aapne, we were young, hungry, and experimental. With GUNMAASTER G9, we're still all of those things—but sharper and more evolved. It's a full-circle moment for me. I'm incredibly grateful to Deepak Mukut for bringing us back together and trusting us with this film,' he said.
Producer Deepak Mukut head of Soham Rockstar Entertainment, known for investing in genre-forward cinema added:
'This film is slick, emotional, and has mass appeal. At Soham Rockstar, we back directors like Aditya Datt who have a strong vision and a fresh take on mainstream cinema. With Emraan, Genelia, and Aparshakti onboard, we have a dream cast to bring this powerful story to life.'
With Himesh Reshammiya returning to score the music, GUNMAASTER G9 is expected to deliver a blockbuster soundtrack that complements its gripping narrative. The film promises to be a full-spectrum cinematic experience for today's audiences.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Mumbai post-monsoon, with Uttarakhand schedules to follow shortly thereafter.
The film is slated for release in 2026.

Alien: Earth OTT release Twitter review: Social media erupts in awe, ‘One of the most incredible TV shows'
Alien: Earth, a sci-fi prequel to the 1979 Alien film, has been released in India on JioHotstar, starting on August 13. The OTT release has been created by Noah Hawley and stars Indian actor Adarsh Gourav. In the US, it streams on FX and Hulu. The web series follows soldiers and a young survivor, Wendy, who face an alien threat after a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth. The first two episodes will premiere together. Then, weekly episodes will be released on Wednesdays (for Indian viewers) until late September. IGN's review of Alien: Earth says the first two episodes bring back the premiere magic. With streaming seasons getting shorter, the show makes an impact by starting with a double episode full of the franchise's famous creepy vibe and hints of fresh ideas. 'Noah Hawley and his cast and crew have launched a very intriguing new show in a franchise in need of an evolution,' it says. Alien: Earth is a big-budget web series, and the spending shows, according to Variety. There are striking sets and scary new aliens, including one with a parasitic eyeball that controls nerves. Roger Ebert's review of Alien: Earth says the show covers many ideas, but its main theme is what happens when humans are no longer at the top of the food chain. Another key idea is what it means to exist between humans and aliens. 'Wendy is not flesh and blood nor a robot; not a child or an adult. She's nothing and everything at the same time,' the review says. 'The scale, the atmosphere, the vfx omg they've created true masterpiece I would say. This sequence was truly felt real,' says one user on Twitter (now X). 'This is how you make a streaming show of a movie franchise!' says another. Another user commented, 'If you're skipping this intro, we're not watching the same show.' 'Alien: Earth is hands down one of the most incredible TV shows I've ever watched. You guys aren't prepared for this,' came from another. 'I need all of the episodes now,' demanded another user.

Anaswara Rajan's popular movies to binge-watch before Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal
Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan was able to make a mark with her very first film Udaharanam Sujatha. The young actress then went on to do remarkable roles in several popular Malayalam films, including with the likes of superstar Mohanlal in Neru. She recently starred in Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, which will soon make its OTT debut on Manorama Max on August 14. Before that, let's check out Anaswara Rajan's popular Malayalam movies that are available to stream on OTTplay Premium right now. Anaswara Rajan in Udaharanam Sujatha, Neru Anaswara Rajan's movies to watch now Udaharanam Sujatha Anaswara played the teenager Athira Krishna in her debut movie, which starred noted Malayalam actress Manju Warrier in the lead role. A remake of Swara Bhasker's Nil Battey Sannata, the film narrates the tale of a single woman who is forced to return to school after her daughter refuses to take studies seriously, declaring that she would be a housemaid just like her mother. Anaswara's performance was noted, at times, even matching that of Manju Warrier. Super Sharanya Anaswara played the titular role of Sharanya, a timid girl from a small town who joins an engineering college. The film shows her bonding with her hostel mates, navigating campus life, trying to avoid problematic seniors and experiencing first love. Noted for its fun narrative, the film also stars actress Mamitha Baiju who shot to fame with Premalu. This courtroom drama film saw Anaswara taking on a more serious character and impressed audiences with her nuanced performance as a blind sculptor who is assaulted. Iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal appears in the role of an advocate, who battles for her justice in court. An emotional courtroom drama, Neru deserves to be watched online. Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil Unlike the tense Neru, this Malayalam film shows the chaotic comedy that revolves around the wedding of Anjali (Anaswara Rajan). Prithviraj Sukumaran plays her elder brother Anandan who is initially close to her fiance Vinu only to oppose the wedding later on. Some stellar performances by the lead cast, fun banter between the characters and peppy music make Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil a joy ride that you would not want to miss. Rekhachithram Rekhachithram is truly one of the standout Malayalam films this year. A dying man's confession sparks an investigation into a murder that happened decades ago. Actor Asif Ali plays cop Vivek who traces the victim to a film location in 1985. Anaswara played Rekha, a junior artiste on the film sets, and the film portrays what happened to her. Though a crime/mystery thriller, Rekhachithram won much love for beautifully depicting a bygone era on screen.
