
Endowments ministry opens Lady Maryam bint Muhammad Abdullah Mosque in Muaither Al Wukair
The opening of the new mosque, endowed by Maryam bint Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdul Karim, is intended to be a beacon of worship and a house of God filled with prayer, remembrance, and the Quran. This comes as part of the Ministry's plan to expand and develop the number of mosques across the country, keeping pace with urban growth and population increase, in line with the country's National Vision 2030.
The noble endowment's blessed work is considered one of the greatest acts of devotion. It is an ongoing charity that brings endless reward.
The new mosque, which is a congregational mosque and has the number MS1430, includes a main prayer hall that can accommodate 989 worshippers, in addition to a women's hall that can accommodate 100 worshippers.
The mosque includes a spacious ablution area, in addition to a large number of public parking spaces, a number of which are designated for people with disabilities, with organized entrances and exits. The mosque also features a tall minaret.
The Ministry's Engineering Affairs Department is responsible for meeting the needs of the country's regions for mosques and prayer rooms, supplying regions with temporary mosques and supervising their preservation, preparing the annual plan for the maintenance of mosques and imams' residences, in coordination with the relevant authorities, supervising the preparation and implementation of construction and maintenance work for mosques, supervising the construction projects of mosques and imams' residences owned by endowments in terms of designs, technical and engineering specifications, and implementation, and preparing a database on mosques, prayer rooms, and their workers.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' website offers a feature for searching for mosque locations geographically, using the Global Navigation System (GNS). This feature provides precise and specific maps that facilitate access to mosque locations in all cities within the country.

QR54.9 million provided to educational assistance: Awqaf
The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs provided educational assistance totaling QAR 54,944,393 during the 2024-2025 academic year. A total of 1,863 students from eligible families within Qatar benefited from the support, which covered various educational levels including private schools, universities, and rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities. Head of the Zakat Disbursement Section Saeed Hadi Al Marri said that the aid was distributed over the two academic semesters of the current year, based on Sharia-compliant criteria, regulations, and approved mechanisms, ensuring that support reached eligible students officially enrolled in their institutions. He detailed that QR38,122,026 was allocated to cover fees for students in private schools and disability rehabilitation centers, while QR16,822,367 was dedicated to supporting and covering the expenses of university students within Qatar. Al Marri emphasized that the tuition assistance project is one of the department's most important social initiatives, given its role in supporting the educational journey of underprivileged students and enabling them to continue their studies and become active members of society. He concluded by stating that zakat is a cornerstone of social solidarity and contributes to family and developmental stability, noting that the department continues to receive zakat funds from contributors year-round through various convenient channels.

30 Qatari students attend 1st summer Holy Quran memorisation course
QNA Doha Thirty outstanding Qatari students participated in the first summer course launched by the Al Noor Quranic Educational Centre, affiliated with the Department of Da'wa and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The course aims to enhance the level of the Holy Quran memorisation and develop participants' educational and academic skills during the summer vacation. The three-week course focuses on the Holy Quran memorisation, with each student memorising two pages per day, along with daily review of previously memorised Quran. The course is part of an integrated educational programme that encompasses Quranic concepts, practical worship, vocal skills, sports activities, and recreational and educational trips. The programme also features courses in various fields, including cybersecurity, as well as chanting sessions and training on performing the call to prayer. This helps hone participants' skills and instil Islamic and moral values within an interactive educational environment. The course is part of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' efforts, represented by the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, to utilise the summer vacation to offer quality programmes aimed at building a generation aware of its religious and moral values, and qualified to perform the duties of imams, preachers, and religious guidance in the future. A number of participating students expressed their satisfaction with the opportunities the course provided to enhance their memorisation and review of the Holy Quran and learn new skills. They praised the ministry's significant role in organising such quality courses during the summer vacation.
