Telangana Dy CM Bhatti urges Congress workers to make Rythu Bharosa fete a success

HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday called upon Congress workers to participate in large numbers in celebrations being organised to mark the successful disbursement of Rythu Bharosa money to farmers in just nine days.
He was addressing them at a meeting chaired by TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan at Gandhi Bhavan.
He said: 'Under our government, Rythu Bharosa is being paid to all cultivable lands without any discrimination. The disbursement of Rythu Bharosa was completed in just nine days, which is a record in the history of the state.'
Gandhi Bhavan, on Monday, buzzed with key meetings such as the TPCC Delimitation Committee convened under the chairmanship of Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy, followed by a meeting of the Samvidhan Bachao Programme Committee chaired by Dr Vinay, AICC Telangana in-charge, and attended by AICC secretaries.
However, there were some jarring notes. Tensions briefly flared as members of the Golla-Kuruma community staged a protest in front of Gandhi Bhavan. Chanting slogans, they demanded immediate intervention by the TPCC leadership alleging that no action was being taken to address their long-standing issues.
They wanted the chief minister to respond.
Meenakshi Natarajan, while addressing party functionaries, emphasized the importance of the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' campaigns to raise public awareness about constitutional values and welfare schemes. She called on leaders — both senior and junior — to work in close coordination without hierarchy and ensure the government's programmes reach the grassroots effectively.
On Tuesday, Gandhi Bhavan will host meetings of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC), Advisory Committee, and Disciplinary Committee, which will be attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Cabinet ministers, and senior Congress leaders.

Pappu Yadav likens current political climate to ‘undeclared Emergency'

New Delhi: On the 50th anniversary of the Emergency -- widely regarded as one of the darkest chapters in Indian democracy -- Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav strongly criticised the current political climate, likening it to an "undeclared Emergency." Speaking to IANS on Tuesday, Yadav took aim at the ruling BJP, asserting that the present situation mirrors the authoritarianism of the past, albeit without formal declaration. Attacking the ruling dispensation, he said that institutions like the "Supreme Court, ED, CBI, and Election Commission are all working at the BJP's behest. No one can speak now." Training his guns at the BJP on the issue of black money, he said that the BJP does not want to talk about real issues. "Just look at the BJP on its record of employment generation, have they delivered their promise on giving two crore jobs?" he asked. "What is the update on the handling of Agniveers? Our currency is going down compared to the dollar. Have you brought back the black money?" he told IANS. On speculation over Arvind Kejriwal's entry into the Rajya Sabha, Yadav accused him of prioritising personal ambition over governance. He further alleged that Kejriwal is desperately eyeing a Rajya Sabha seat and could even replace Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to fulfil his political goals. "He is obsessed with money and power. Corruption runs in his veins," Yadav said, calling Kejriwal the 'B team' of the BJP. Yadav claimed Kejriwal imposed elections in Punjab for selfish reasons and said the AAP leader now lives in a 'delusional world.' 'He made Delhiites suffer, failed to deliver on Lokpal, and now dreams of entering Rajya Sabha through the backdoor,' Yadav alleged. On the BJP's continuous attack on Congress, Yadav called Union Home Minister Amit Shah the 'Sankat Mochak' of the BJP but questioned his relentless attacks on the Congress. 'Every party is free to contest on their terms. But if you had taken the name of God as many times as you've taken the name of Congress, Nehru, or Indira, maybe God would have blessed you,' he said. Yadav reminded Home Minister Amit Shah of Indira Gandhi's contributions to the nation, calling her one of the most dynamic leaders the world has seen. "Atal Bihari Vajpayee had called her 'Durga.' Don't forget 1971 and her leadership. Yes, Emergency was dark, and people punished her -- but then people brought her back, too. Let the people decide,' he added. On the Iran-Israel conflict, Yadav accused the US of forcing a ceasefire. 'Iran is our historical ally, and we must introspect. Trump's actions have surpassed Hitler,' he said, warning that war is being used as a business model by global arms dealers.

'If You Lie, The Crow Will...': Fadnavis Dismisses Rahul Gandhi's Voter List Manipulation Charge

Last Updated: Fadnavis pointed out that voter turnout increased by over 8% between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in more than 25 constituencies, and Congress won the majority of seats Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations of voter list manipulation in the state, where the BJP-led alliance scored a massive victory in assembly polls last year. Fadnavis pointed out that voter turnout increased by over 8% between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in more than 25 constituencies, and Congress won the majority of seats. He also cited examples of seats of West Nagpur, North Nagpur, Wadgaon Sheri in Pune district, Malad West and Mumbra, where Congress and its allies emerged victorious. — Devendra Fadnavis (@Dev_Fadnavis) June 24, 2025 'Vote Theft in 2024 Maharashtra Polls': Rahul Gandhi Flagging alleged irregularities in the Maharashtra assembly polls, Rahul Gandhi has claimed that there weren't isolated glitches but 'vote theft" and demanded the immediate release of machine-readable digital voter rolls as well as CCTV footage. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha shared on X a media report which claimed that in just six months between the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the Maharashtra assembly polls, Nagpur South West — the seat held by BJP leader and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis — added 29,219 new voters. 'Media uncovered thousands of voters with no verified address. And the EC? Silent — or complicit. These aren't isolated glitches. This is vote theft. The cover-up is the confession," he said. 'That's why we demand the immediate release of machine-readable digital voter rolls and CCTV footage," Gandhi added. In a post on X, the Chief Electoral Office in Maharashtra said as informed by the Election Commission of India already, electoral rolls are shared with all recognised political parties. 'During 2nd Special Summary Revision-2024, which was taken up before the General Elections to Maharashtra Assembly-2024, the copies of draft and final electoral rolls of all 288 ACs were provided to representatives of all recognised political parties including INC (Dates of handing over the rolls to INC can be seen in the attachment)," the office said. 'Between draft and final publication of rolls, 19,27,508 claims & objections were received for consideration. As per law, appeal can be filed against wrongful additions or deletions in the Electoral Rolls. Only 89 Appeals were received," it said. Gandhi's remarks also came on a day it emerged that the Election Commission has formally written to him on his allegations of rigging in the 2024 Maharashtra polls, saying all elections are held by the poll authority strictly as per laws passed by Parliament and rules, and the entire exercise involves thousands of personnel, including booth-level agents appointed by political parties. In a letter emailed to him on June 12 in response to his article written in a leading daily, the EC has said the entire election process is conducted in a decentralised manner at the assembly constituency level, which involved more than 1,00,186 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 288 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 139 General Observers, 41 Police Observers, 71 Expenditure Observers and 288 Returning Officers (ROs) appointed by the Commission. 'We presume that any issue regarding conduct of elections would have already been raised through election petitions filed in the competent court of law (high court) by the INC candidates," it told the LoP in Lok Sabha. 'However, if you still have any issues, you are welcome to write to us and the Commission is also willing to meet you in person at a mutually convenient date and time to discuss all issues," the poll authority said. RSS workers tortured in jails during Emergency, at least 100 died: Sunil Ambekar

Ambekar termed the imposition of Emergency by the erstwhile Congress government a 'black spot' on India's democratic traditions and said those 21 months of 'dictatorship' in the country can never be forgotten. 'At least 100 such Sangh 'karyakartas' died during this period. Some of them died in jail while others (happened) outside. Our Pandurang Kshirsagar ji (then head of Sangh's all India Management committee) was one of those who died in jail due to extreme torture,' the RSS's national publicity and media department head told PTI. New Delhi, Jun 24 (PTI) Thousands of RSS volunteers, including some prominent office bearers, were put in jail and subjected to various kinds of tortures in custody during the period of Emergency imposed by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975, senior RSS functionary Sunil Ambekar said. The RSS workers were arrested, beaten and many of them were subjected to even third-degree torture in custody to force them to come in support of the government and imposition of Emergency, he said. 'They also wanted them to reveal the names of the Sangh leaders participating in the nationwide movement (against the imposition of Emergency),' Ambekar said. 'But the dictatorship eventually came to an end and democracy was restored in the country due to unrelenting mass movement in the country,' he added. All 'swayamsevaks' actively participated in the nationwide movement to save democracy, he said. On June 25, 1975, Indira Gandhi announced the imposition of the Emergency in a broadcast on All India Radio, shortly after the Supreme Court granted a conditional stay to an Allahabad High Court verdict declaring her election to the Lok Sabha as null and void. It was lifted on March 21, 1977. The 21 months of Emergency is known for a massive crackdown on political opponents of the erstwhile Congress government, forced mass sterilisations, censorship of the press, suspension of constitutional rights and centralisation of power. Soon after the declaration of the state of Emergency in the country, the then RSS chief Balasaheb Deoras was arrested in Nagpur and the organisation was banned by the Indira Gandhi government. 'Many Sangh workers including prominent ones were also arrested at different places. Some were picked up on June 25 night itself while others later. There were about 1,300 Sangh 'pracharaks' then. Of them, about 189 'pracharaks' were arrested,' Ambekar said. Thousands of RSS 'swayamsevaks' and 'karyakartas' were arrested during the Emergency, he added. Ambekar said the RSS, which was then running about 50,000 'shakhas' across the country, deployed its 'entire strength' in the movement against the Emergency, joining hands with others who had the common goal of restoring democracy. He categorically rejected the claim as 'misleading' that Deoras, the then RSS chief, had written to prime minister Indira Gandhi from jail pleading for lifting the ban on his organisation and the release of Sangh 'karyakartas' from jail. 'The purpose of the letters that Deoras ji wrote was to save people from the pain of the struggle that they were to face in the time to come. It happened in Mahabharata also. He wrote his letters with politeness. But he was clear that if correspondence does not work and the dictator considers this as a weakness, the next weapon is satyagraha (protest),' Ambekar said when asked for comment on the issue. And satyagraha was held in which 80,000 to one lakh people participated, he said. 'Many people were put in jail. This satyagraha, in which people of the Sangh worked so hard and suffered too, was decisive. Because of this, the Emergency had to be lifted and elections were announced,' Ambekar said. 'I think it is very important to understand the story completely. In the whole story, part 1 is sending letters, part 2 is 'mahasangharsh' (great struggle), part 3 is ending of the Emergency, and then elections were held again. So it is very important to see it in a holistic way,' he added. Last year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the government's decision to observe June 25, the day on which the Emergency was declared in 1975, as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' to commemorate the 'massive contributions' of those who endured 'inhuman pains' of the period.
