iPhone 17 Air's chipset detailed
The iPhone 17 family is rumored to be launching on September 9. Ahead of that, there have been countless rumors telling us that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the iPhone 16 Plus in Apple's roster, due to the latter's lackluster sales performance.
But this leaves a mystery regarding which chipset the Air will go with. Will it be a Pro SoC or not? Apple's Pro iPhones obviously use the Pro chipset, but the Air is not a Pro, so will it have the same chip as the vanilla iPhone 17? A new rumor out of China says no to that, revealing that in fact the Air will use the A19 Pro SoC.
But there's a small catch. It won't be exactly the same A19 Pro chip that will feature in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Instead, the Air's version will have a lesser GPU, with one less core. That's the only difference. So while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max's A19 Pro will come with six GPU cores, the iPhone 17 Air's will have just five.
The iPhone 17 Air's screen will also reportedly not be quite at the level of the iPhone 17 Pro's, according to the same source. The Air is now rumored to be 5.65mm to 5.7mm thick.
This rumor contradicts a previous one from July, which claimed the iPhone 17 Air would be equipped with the A19 chip just like the iPhone 17. Obviously, we can't be sure which one is accurate.

Google Search will show you more content from your Preferred Sources
Vlad, 12 August 2025 Today Google is launching Preferred Sources in Search for everyone in the US and India. This basically lets you tell Google what your preferred sources for information are, and it will then show you more content from those sources in the Top stories part of Google Search. The rollout is expected to take a few days. To select your Preferred Sources, click on the icon to the right of "Top stories". You can then search for sources and select the ones you want. Then, refresh your results and you'll instantly get more from your favorite sites, and your preferences are saved for the future of course. You'll see content from your Preferred Sources both in Top stories and a dedicated "From your sources" section on the search results page. You will still see content from other sites - your Preferred Sources will just be featured more prominently and more often. You can of course change your source selections at any time, and you can select as many Preferred Sources as you like. Source

Google teaser shows that owning the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be doubly joyful
Google continues its streak of teasing its upcoming Pixel 10 phones in a bid to outsmart leakers. The company today posted a video of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and instead of beating around the bush, it gives a simple reason why the phone will deliver more than most other top smartphones. Nearly every Android manufacturer has been selling foldable phones for a while now. Apple is the only notable holdout. For some reason, Android companies love to throw shade on Apple, either directly or indirectly. In the latest Pixel 10 Pro Fold teaser, not only does the Mountain View giant give us a good look at its third bendable phone, but it also tells us why it will bring you more joy than a conventional phone. The company talks about how the feeling of opening a brand new phone is unrivalled and that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a step ahead because you will get to "open" it twice. Depending on your sense of humor, the joke may or may not land, but that, of course, isn't the point. I for one found it cringe-inducing at first, but it's growing on me in case you are wondering why Google is marketing such a straightforward fact, well, that might be because the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will largely look the same as the outgoing Pixel 9 Pro Fold, so there isn't much to flex about ( please tell me I am funnier than Google ). It will still be a worthwhile upgrade, though. For starters, the outward appearance will change a bit, with the cover screen growing marginally from 6.3 inches to 6.4 inches. Google will reportedly achieve this by trimming the bezel and reducing the gap between the outer display and the hinge. What really will set the Pixel 10 Pro Fold apart is that it might be the first dust-proof foldable phone on the market. The device may also have a slightly larger battery. Under the hood will be the Tensor G5 chipset, which will be paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Google's new phones will be announced on August 20, but the Pixel 10 Pro Fold 's release has apparently been delayed, with a recent report saying it won't begin shipping until October. Samsung is back to owning the foldable game after the Fold 7, which is why Google will have to try a little harder with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold to stay competitive.
