He is also one of the favourites to win the World Matchplay this weekend, which would be his fifth major in just his second year on the Pro Tour.
George has been impressed by the youngster's displays, particularly his finishing ability.
But he warned there is a danger in darts of going from hero to zero very quickly.
He told SunSport: "Littler could go on and on because he's got youth on his side.

"But in darts, there's one thing in darts. You can be hero to zero quick.
"You've got to keep on that dartboard. You've got to practice. They say well he doesn't practice. Well he's an idiot if he doesn't.
"Personally. He's got to keep that muscle memory going. That's all it is. Because when you don't use it you lose it."
George, 79, was full or praise for Littler too, highlighting a key area some players often overlook - counting.

He played 41 games across all competitions, 22 in the Premier League, and scored five goals. His contributions helped Chelsea finish fourth in the league, securing Champions League football, and also win the Club World Cup. Off the field, Tosin's influence has been equally impressive, particularly through his relationship with Cole Palmer, which has created a positive atmosphere and a supportive environment within the squad. Both Tosin and Palmer came through the academy at Manchester City and their friendship deepened last season when Palmer was going through a rough patch. Sources say Tosin was very supportive, using his experience of being around top players to reassure Palmer that it was only a matter of time before he returned to form. He's even been seen adjusting microphones to help Palmer during interviews and taking photos of him - small but telling gestures of his support. Tosin's leadership extends beyond Palmer, he also helps young players and new signings adjust, using his background at Manchester City and Fulham to guide them through the challenges of settling into life at Chelsea. Clips show emergency services battling the blaze at the venue in Crumlin, a suburb of the Irish capital. Reacting to the scenes today, McGregor defiantly posted a video on Instagram while holidaying with his family on a boat. Before drinking from a can of Forge beer, he said: "The pub is open for business today folks. "You wouldn't get through it with a rocket launcher. She's spotless. "Up the forge!" He later posted an aerial shot of the pub, captioned: "UNBEATABLE!". It is not clear when the videos - which shows smoke rising from the pub - were taken, but Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed the fire occurred overnight. A spokesperson for the service said: "Dublin Fire Brigade was called at 3.08am to reports of a fire at a premises on the Drimnagh Road. "Firefighters from Dolphins Barn were mobilised to the address and on arrival found a small fire at the front of the building. "Using a high pressure hose reel, one fire engine dealt with the incident and no injuries were reported. "The scene was handed over to Gardai." Garda officers also attended the scene just after 3am and a probe into the blaze has been launched. A spokesman said: "Gardaí attended the scene of an incident of criminal damage at a licenced premises on the Drimnagh Road, Crumlin that occurred at approximately 3.00am on Friday, July 25. "The fire was extinguished by Dublin Fire Brigade. No injuries have been reported. "The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination will be conducted in due course. Investigations are ongoing." Pictures taken today have revealed the extent of the clear up from the fire, with workmen spotted repairing the exterior of the building. The former UFC World Champion's bar was previously targeted in January 2022. Yobs armed with petrol bombs attacked the venue just hours after the fighter had been there. At the time, cops said they were investigating attempted criminal damage. He purchased the Irish pub for roughly £2million in 2019. In a statement released after the "unprovoked" attack, The Black Forge Inn management team confirmed staff and customers had not been harmed. It read: 'After hours last night it appears that criminals made an unprovoked effort to inflict damage to the Black Forge Inn. 'There was no damage done to any patrons, employees or the Forge and Mr. McGregor was not on the premises at the time of the incident. "The gardai have opened an investigation into the event. We are open and busy as always.' A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: 'Gardai are investigating an incident of attempted criminal damage at a licenced premises on the Drimnagh Road, Crumlin. 'No damage was done to the premises. Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to this incident." The Sun has approached Dublin Fire Brigade and Garda for comment. It comes as the star was embroiled in a cheating scandal earlier this month, after being spotted cosying up to a number of women.

Luke Littler is the clear favourite to beat Andrew Gilding with Sky Bet - but can there be an upset at the World Matchplay?
Luke Littler is targeting a spot in the semi-finals of the World Matchplay in Blackpool but must dispatch Andrew Gilding to get there. The Nuke survived a thriller against Jermaine Wattimena to make it to the quarters, scraping through 13-11 after mounting a barnstorming comeback from 4-0 down. Gilding provided one of the viral moments of the tournament when he claimed he had spent two days 'getting stiff in the hotel room', and now he hopes to cancel Littler's stay in Blackpool. Littler has already done much better than he did last year when he lost against an on-fire Michael van Gerwen in the first round. And Sky Bet make him the 1/12 favourite to sweep aside Gilding and make the semi-finals at Winter Gardens. Gilding, meanwhile, has been given odds of 6/1 to win. Sky Bet odds for Luke Littler vs Andrew Gilding at the World Matchplay: Luke Littler to win 1/12 Andrew Gilding to win 6/1
