Killarney's Vickers brothers win gold and silver for Munster in 800m race at Tailteann Games
Kerryman
Kerry brothers Isaac and Ryan Vickers made history at the 123.ie Irish Schools' Tailteann Interprovincial Games in SETU Carlow on Saturday when they won gold and silver respectively in the 800m event, the first time – as far as experts could tell – that brothers finished first and second in the same event at this level.
Apart from the Vickers brothers amazing achievement, a host of other Kerry post-primary students produced brilliants results at these games, which give second-level students from the junior and intermediate grades a chance to represent their province based on their performances at the provincial schools' championships last month.
