F1 is currently on its summer break, with the next race not until August 31 in Zandvoort.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has also been spending some time near the Mediterranean island, though has not been pictured with Verstappen or Wolff.
Sardinia is a popular destination for F1 drivers and team principles, with Verstappen and Wolff both separately cruising off the coast there last month.
Verstappen's private jet was tracked touching down on the Italian island in the wake of Christian Horner's Red Bull sackingo on July 9.
Further tracking showed yachts owned by the four-time world champion and Wolff both off the coast of Sardinia before the Belgian Grand Prix.
Ahead of the summer break Verstappen confirmed he would be staying put at Red Bull.
The Dutchman had held talks with Mercedes over a potential move with Red Bull struggling again this season.

Merc boss Toto Wolff confirmed the talks at the Austrian Grand Prix in June.
Verstappen, 27, finished fourth in the Belgian Grand Prix in July, meaning he could no longer trigger a release clause that relied on him being outside of the top three going into the summer break.

Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Dutchman said: "It's quite interesting to follow all that and the amount of nice stories that came out of it.
"But I've never really said anything about it because I was just focused on talking to the team about how we can improve our performance, future ideas for next year as well.
"I think it's time to basically stop all the rumours.
"For me, it's always been quite clear that I was staying anyway."
He continued: "That was also the general feeling in the team anyway, because we were always in discussions about what we could do with the car.
"I think when you're not interested in staying, then you also stop talking about these kinds of things.
"And I never did."

Sad truth about ageing men... every woman whispers about it. So many women put up with these ludicrous husbands: AMANDA PLATELL

Reflecting on making his half century, Leonardo DiCaprio tells Esquire magazine he doesn't feel 50 but 32. One can imagine him parroting that well-used, older-man gag: 'You're only as old as the woman you feel.' Which fits Leo to a tee – his current girlfriend, the exquisitely beautiful and slender Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, is 27.

Federico Chiesa speaks out on Liverpool future after emotional Anfield goal

Federico Chiesa insists he wants to stay with Liverpool after an emotional first Premier League goal for the club in the dramatic win over Bournemouth. The Reds beat the Cherries 4-2 in a thrilling contest at Anfield, which saw the home team take a two-goal lead through Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo only to be pegged back by an Antoine Semenyo brace. 90 minutes approached with the scores level but that is when the ball fell to substitute Chiesa in the penalty box and he expertly volleyed home to put the Reds back in front. Mohamed Salah added a fourth in injury time and what could have been a harmful night to their Premier League title defence, turned out to be a successful one. Chiesa has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer after a very underwhelming first season with the club last time round, which saw him make just six Premier League appearances. Metro's new weekly football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday – sign up, it's an open goal. However, he sounds like he has no interest in an exit and wants to stay and contribute as much as he possibly can. 'I'm very happy at Liverpool!' Chiesa said. 'I will speak to the club but I want to stay here and fight to win many trophies.' It was not pure delight for Chiesa as there was sadness for everyone at Anfield on Friday as the club paid tribute again to the departed Diogo Jota. '[The goal] was a great moment for me but my thoughts go to Diogo,' said the Italian to the BBC. 'I think for what we have seen it was his day. The feeling that the fans gave me, chanting his song all the way through the match. 'It was very emotional, very emotional for me. I have to say that after the goal my thoughts went to his family, his brother Andre. That's the only thing I could say. 'At the end of the day we have to focus on the football. We wanted to win today. It was a difficult match, we went 2-0 up and then they came back, but we showed why we are champions. Of course Diogo would have helped us a lot but unfortunately he was somewhere else and he helped us in another way.' The 27-year-old did score two goals last season, one in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley and another in the Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle. He is delighted to finally get on the score sheet in the Premier League, especially in such crucial fashion. 'Unfortunately one of the goals didn't count because it was at Wembley and we lost, but today it was the 3-2 goal,' he said. 'I helped my team to get an edge in a very difficult game and then at the end we scored for 4-2. As I am concerned all the Premier League games are tough until the end. You never know. We have to continue like this. 'It took me one year to score in the Premier League but as we say in Italian: Better late than never.' Slot was thrilled for the former Juventus man, saying: 'Fantastic. He came in in the end because we needed a goal. For him then to score in such a moment is special. It is even more special because the fans have supported him. It is nice that he gives them something in return with a great goal. More Trending 'The referee today kept the game going, it was a very high and intense game. Both teams were at it, trying to attack, trying to go through transition and not timewasting.' The Reds can now put their feet up after a stressful opening to the season as they do not return to action until Monday August 25 when they travel to take on Newcastle. That is followed by a home game against Arsenal six days later on what is a tough start to the campaign for the champions. Federico Chiesa cements Liverpool cult hero status with moment to remember

It looked like he was heading for the Anfield exit door, but Federico Chiesa was on hand to seal all three points for Liverpool against Bournemouth in their Premier League opener For all the money Liverpool have spent this summer it was the only signing from last year who rescued them here. Federico Chiesa was left at home for their pre-season tour and the fan favourite looked to be heading for the Anfield exit door. ‌ Yet the £10m recruit from Juventus 12 months ago enamoured himself even more to the home faithful last night as he came off the bench to fire Liverpool back in front. Cult hero status forever confirmed. ‌ Mo Salah got a fourth but it was Chiesa's strike which won this game for Liverpool against a brave Bournemouth after Arne Slot 's men had blown a two-goal lead. ‌ If this is one of his final acts in a red shirt they might need to send him a winners' medal if Liverpool lift this trophy again in May. With two minutes to go it looked like the defending champions were going to drop points on the first weekend of the new campaign. Anfield debut boy Hugo Ekitike had scored one and helped Cody Gakpo get the second as Liverpool looked to be in cruise control. But then a double from the brilliant Antoine Semenyo - who had earlier reported racist abuse from the crowd - brought Bournemouth level on a dramatic night. Then Salah's cross somehow dropped down to the Italian and he pulled off an inventive and superb finish to find the corner. More than £300m spent this summer and counting yet here was the bargain buy from last year against all the odds turning Anfield wild. ‌ Blockbuster TV but a night tinged with great sadness, too. Season openers don't get more crazy than this. Salah would get in on the act to ensure there wouldn't be another way back for Andoni Iraola's side with a low finish from the edge of the area. He just about squeezed in his usual opening weekend goal. ‌ He stood in front of the Kop after the final whistle and it was something extraordinary. The fans sang Diogo Jota's name and Salah couldn't stop the tears flowing. The football before had stirred a different type of emotion. If Liverpool are going to play like this every week it will be a rollercoaster ride of a season. Brilliant up front, erratic at the back. But it was also a night to remember their friend and team-mate. ‌ A minute's silence was impeccably observed before kick-off with mosaics around the ground for Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. Jota's family were in the crowd for the tribute, a banner on the Kop reminded them that they will always be thought of in these parts. ‌ The game began and football helped us forget. How Cherries defender Marcos Senesi wasn't punished for denying him going clear with a blatant handball is anyone's guess. When Semenyo reported racist abuse from a fan in the crowd soon after we were barely 30 minutes into the season. Sad and troubling. It will be investigated after the game was briefly halted. ‌ Ekitike would open the scoring eight minutes before the break as he slotted home after bundling through the Bournemouth backline. Gakpo doubled the hosts' lead soon after the restart with his now almost trademark move of coming in off the left before finding the bottom corner. Ekitike had the assist - who needs Alexander Isak? Bournemouth were not done, though. Not when they have Semenyo. The Cherries will be glad nobody has come for him this summer. What a player. ‌ The first for them was a breakaway with David Brooks marauding down the left before a fizzed cross was met by Semenyo coasting into the middle in the 64th minute. Then, from the edge of his own box, Semenyo took the ball away and the blue and black shirts of Bournemouth flooded forward as Liverpool tried to scamper back with 14 minutes to go. Semenyo had options but he remained unchallenged so when he entered Liverpool's area he just slotted home himself. It only set up the real drama to come. Oh how Jota would have loved this game.
