She was suspended without pay from her job at a nursery in north Italy after refusing to delete the account, and has now been sacked.
The controversy was unearthed after the father of one of her pupils allegedly bought photos from her OnlyFans.
Maraga claims that the man's wife found out after he distributed the pictures to a football group, A2 has reported.
She said: "The father of one of my students bought my photos and distributed them to the football group.
"Then his wife found out. I like myself, I turned my passion for my body into a way to earn income. "
She added that her finances were part of the reason she chose to open the account.
"I don't understand what the problem is," Maraga said.
"Living on 1,200 euros a month is tiring, that's why I opened it."
A group of 30 parents reportedly signed a petition opposing her firing, and a trade union also resisted her dismissal.
Nevertheless, she was officially given the sack on Tuesday.
She said: "They sent me a letter saying I was fired for inappropriate behavior because the relationship of trust has been damaged.
"I find it 100% unfair."
The nursery said her contract would be terminated "for just cause with immediate effect," according to ANSA.
Its claimed that her OnlyFans account "contrasts with the Catholic inspiration that guides the educational direction of the school."
But the 29-year-old has blasted the way her former employer handled the matter.
She said: "They attacked me, saying I was seeking media attention.
"Taking compromising photos has never compromised my professionalism at work.
"The school has never wanted to talk to me, they have always acted with letters and have never wanted dialogue.
"I am surprised that a Catholic school that preaches morality treats an employee in this way."
The Italian education ministry has signalled its intent to draw up a new code of ethics to prevent teachers appearing on adult sites, The Telegraph has reported.
Maraga told Italian media she has a degree in degree in Educational Sciences and that she had been working in a Catholic nursery for five years.
"I love being a nursery school teacher, it was my vocation since I was a child," she told Il Messaggero.
She added that she opened the account one month ago "partly for fun, partly out of curiosity, partly to see if you could really earn money."
"In one day I get a month's salary," she said.

And the past two weeks have seen Nawrocki have to vehemently deny claims he had contacts in the criminal underworld and that he got prostitutes to pretend to be guests at a luxury hotel. But his campaign team were forced to admit that the new Polish leader did in fact engage in a bare-knuckle mass brawl between rival football hooligans. While his liberal opponent Rafal Trzaskowski played up his European credentials, Nawrocki met Donald Trump at the White House and received the US President's backing. read more news VOTE SHOCK Putin dealt blow in 'Super Sunday' of votes after shock result in election Unlike other eurosceptics in central Europe like Hungary's Viktor Orban, Nawrocki supports giving military aid to help Ukraine in the bloody war with Russia. But he also revealed prior to his win that he will oppose membership in Western alliances for Ukraine. This view aligns with the falling support among Poles for Ukrainians, with the country having hosted more than a million refugees from across the border. His backers in the Law and Justice (PiS) party had supported fast-tracking membership in the EU and NATO for Kyiv while in power until late 2023. Nawrocki's critics said he was fuelling unease over Ukrainian refugees at a time when the far-right is highlighting migration, the cost of living and security. He cited his campaign slogan, Poland First. "Let's help others, but let's take care of our own citizens first," he said on social media in April. Nawrocki's past has been a topic of intense public debate following a series of negative media coverage. Robert Prevost elected as Pope Leo XIV - the first from North American There were questions over his acquisition of a flat from a pensioner -and even an admission that he took part in orchestrated brawls. Nawrocki, an amateur boxer, told a debate when confronted over reports he had been involved in mass organised fights between football hooligans: "All my sports activities were based on the strength of my heart, the strength of my muscles, my fists. "It was a fair competition, regardless of the form." His Law and Justice party backers have accused the government of orchestrating the controversies with the help of Poland's special services and liberal media. Nawrocki portrayed the election as a referendum on the government, which he described as a metropolitan elite out of touch with their concerns. "I am simply one of you," he told voters in the eastern town of Biala Podlaska while on the campaign trail. More to follow... Immigration crackdown leads to chaotic scenes as ICE touts arrests
Immigration authorities raided a popular San Diego Italian restaurant before the Friday dinner rush, arresting several kitchen workers, while community members confronted agents, according to video shared by a local CBS station. As heavily armed agents entered the restaurant, local residents screamed at them and filmed the scene. The agents wore tactical gear, including bulletproof vests emblazoned with the Homeland Security Investigations logo. "The agents fired sound grenades, flash-bang grenades, at the crowd," Pedro Rios, director of the Quaker American Friends Service Committee's U.S.-Mexico Border Program, told CBS. Todd Lyons, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told FOX News that agents were doing their law enforcement duty during the raid. "We should be supported, not being called Nazis, not being villainized," he said. Immigrants arrested at scheduled hearings Earlier last week, ICE agents were seen arresting immigrants directly after their scheduled immigration hearings at a San Antonio, Texas, courthouse - doubling down on a tactic that has caused an outcry among immigrant advocates. "Families are being targeted at their most vulnerable time - attending their scheduled immigration hearings for what they believe to be progress in their cases," according to a statement by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. The statement links to a video that appears to show ICE agents arresting a mother alongside four children inside the courthouse, including a minor with his hands zip-tied behind his back. Another video outside the same courthouse, undated but posted Friday, May 30, by advocacy group Unidos Podemos, showed the emotional scene of two mothers and a child being loaded by plainclothes agents into the narrow chamber of a vehicle outfitted to carry prisoners. The child stands on the bumper, his arms outstretched. He says in Spanish, "It's OK, Mom, I'm here. It's OK." ICE publicizes criminal arrests during crackdown ICE, which has a significant social media presence, has largely refrained from sharing emotional or chaotic arrest videos and instead posts mugshots of arrested immigrants with serious criminal records. The agency publicized its recent arrests of a Honduran man facing burglary and sexual battery charges, a convicted sex offender from El Salvador and a Venezuelan woman convicted of felonies in California and wanted on other charges in New York.

Benefit cheat mum has to repay £22k after being caught by Facebook post
Benefit cheat mum has to repay £22k after being caught by Facebook post She was running marathons while claiming thousands in PIP per month for her ill health She was competing in marathons while claiming thousands in PIP for being so unwell she was unable to bathe unassisted (Image: Instagram/Stone Master Marathoners ) A benefits swindler who pocketed more than £20,000 in Personal Independence Payment (PIP) whilst participating in numerous running events has been ordered to pay back the money. Sara Morris was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2005 but exaggerated her condition in 2020 to claim benefits. The mother-of-three fibbed about the severity of her MS by stating she could not even stand at the cooker, had balance issues, and struggled to get out of the bath without help. She also claimed that leaving the house caused her so much anxiety that even a trip to the chemist to pick up her medication left her in tears, reports Stoke-on-Trent Live. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard that she received £2,292.63 in PIP each month, and failed to inform the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) that she was actually a member of the Stone Master Marathoners and regularly participated in 5km and 10km races. Her own Facebook posts of her running exposed her deceit. Sara Morris pictured at court (Image: Stoke-on-Trent Live ) Morris, from Walton Way, Stone, was overpaid £20,528.83 between October 20, 2020 and April 25, 2023. She admitted to dishonestly making a false statement to obtain a benefit and was sentenced to eight months in prison last July. The 50-year-old has reappeared at the same court for a Proceeds of Crime hearing. Judge Graeme Smith was informed that Morris had profited £22,386.02 from her criminal activities and the available amount was £60,000. The court heard investigators carried out surveillance on Morris from February 5 to February 20, 2023. Prosecutor Regan Walters said: "On February 5 she took part in a five-mile race and was seen running without assistance and showed no signs of balance problems. On February 11 she was seen running with the Stone Master Marathoners and showed no signs of discomfort." The investigation revealed that Morris competed in 73 races between May 2019 and December 2022. Sara Morris, 50 (Image: Instagram ) When interviewed on May 11, 2023, the defendant claimed her MS had worsened and she was suffering from fatigue. However, she confirmed she had been a member of Stone Master Marathoners running club prior to making her claim. She added that she had filled in her PIP form on her worst day. Paul Cliff, defending, said Morris was diagnosed with MS 19 years ago and that the severity of its impact varies. "But it is accepted by her that the application did not give the full picture. It crossed over into the realms of dishonesty," Mr Cliff said. He said Morris's marriage broke down in the spring of 2020, and that Morris did not enjoy a lavish lifestyle as a result of her fraudulent claim. Article continues below "She lost her home because of financial problems and was struggling to keep her head above water financially. "The application did not give the full picture. She did say running was one of the ways she tried to manage her MS. She has found it difficult to come to terms with her dishonesty." The judge ordered Morris to repay £22,386.02 within 28 days or face nine months in prison. Morris must also pay a £187 surcharge.
