PFF says Oregon has one of the top offensive lines in the country
Oregon football had one of the best offensive lines in college football last season. But many of that group moved on, leaving the Ducks to fill the void with some very talented, but somewhat inexperienced linemen in their wake.
Even so, Oregon is expected to possess one of the best offensive line units in the country. At least that's how the analytical site PFF sees it.
In their latest ranking of the Top 5 offensive lines for the 2025 season, PFF has Oregon coming in at No. 5. Ahead of the Ducks is to no one's surprise No. 1 Alabama. The Crimson Tide kills in recruiting along the offensive front and Nick Saban's retirement hasn't changed that.
Unlike Alabama, No. 2 is a surprise in Utah. Their style of offense calls for a beefy offensive line, and the Utes' move to the Big XII has helped them acquire really good linemen.
At No. 3 is Texas A&M. It's no surprise that an SEC team has a superior offensive line, and at No. 4 is another SEC team, Florida. The Gators have been known more for their speed, but surviving in the SEC calls for a good offensive line.
Oregon went to the transfer portal to bring in the likes of Isaiah World from Nevada, Alex Harkey from Texas State and Emmanuel Pregnon from USC to shore up the line. According to PFF, center Iapani Laloulu holds down the fort for the Ducks.
"As good as those three (World, Harkey and Pregnon) are, the star of the unit is still junior Iapani Laloulu," writer Max Chadwick said. "He's my No. 2 returning center in America and was one of only six in the Power Four to earn top-20 grades in pass blocking and run blocking last season. Laloulu still hasn't surrendered a sack across 720 career pass-blocking snaps. The only real unknown is right guard Dave Iuli, but he did start four games for the Ducks last year."
Oregon will also be breaking in a new quarterback, most likely Dante Moore. Protecting him will be one of the most important keys to the Ducks' season in 2025.

Florida's top running back Jadan Baugh named to Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list
Florida Gators sophomore running back Jadan Baugh was listed among those named in the 2025 Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list ahead of the upcoming college football campaign. The sophomore out of Atlanta, Georgia, had a stellar debut campaign in Gainesville last season, playing in all 13 games while leading the team with 673 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns, and tied for a team-best seven rushing touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Baugh's efforts earned him a Freshman All-SEC honor for his work following the conclusion of the season. Baugh tied Trey Burton (2010) and Tim Tebow (2007) for the program record of five rushing touchdowns in his first start against the Kentucky Wildcats, which was also the most touchdowns made by a Gator in their first-career start. Serving as the Gators' primary kick returner, Baugh averaged 21.6 yards per return and is one of eight SEC players and one of 11 freshmen in FBS to have two 30-yard-plus kick returns. About the Paul Hornung Award The Paul Hornung Award — named after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's All-American and Heisman Trophy winner who played the halfback, quarterback and kicker positions during his college career — is given to the most versatile player in college football. Hornung is also the only Heisman Trophy winner to come from a team with a losing record. Since the award's inception in 2010, a Florida player has never won the award. Notre Dame quarterback Kenny Minchey makes a bold proclamation following Friday's practice
Kenny Minchey after today's practice: "I'm capable. I believe I'm the best quarterback in the country."Minchey showed off the wheels a bit today with Gino Guidugli as the read defender. You love to see when your quarterback has extreme confidence, and Notre Dame's Kenny Minchey did exactly that on Friday following the second fall practice. When speaking with the media, the second-year player proclaimed that he believes that he's 'the best quarterback in the country,' as On3's Jack Soble posted on social media. It's a strong claim, but one that ultimately could come true. Minchey will have to beat out CJ Carr first, but having that kind of confidence will go a long way. Everything that we have seen from his during his limited playing time and in practices seem to suggest that he's got the skill set to lead the Notre Dame offense. He's got the running ability to make defenses account for his legs, and the throwing ability to pop the top off of a defense. It will be a very interesting battle between the two, as the competition continues this fall leading up to the season opener on the road against Miami. Head coach Marcus Freeman will have a very difficult decision to make, but Minchey is very confident in his abilities. Madden NFL 26 Top OL ratings revealed — did any Steelers make the cut?
EA just dropped the top-10 player ratings at each position for Madden NFL 26 — and a problem that has plagued Pittsburgh over the past several years has reared its ugly head in the new video game: offensive line play. Here are the newly released Madden NFL 26 player ratings for the top-10 offensive linemen — with the Steelers missing the mark by a wide margin. For comparison, here's the Steelers' offensive line ratings: It's unlikely the young group cares about their Madden ratings with Super Bowl aspirations at play — but the Steelers expect big things out of the unit in 2025, potentially forcing EA Sports to hand out some upgrades early.
