France to unveil €37 bn in foreign investment at Versailles summit: presidency
Of the total, 20 billion euros are "entirely new" projects -- a record for the event, which drew 15 billion euros in commitments last year.
The remaining 17 billion euros was announced in February and has now been finalised and tied to specific sites, the presidency added.
Among the headline deals, US logistics giant Prologis is set to invest 6.4 billion euros in four data centres in the Ile-de-France region, according to the newspaper Le Parisien.
Emirati investors are also committing 8 billion euros as part of a larger 50-billion-euro data infrastructure project, previously flagged in February, La Tribune reported.
Amazon is expected to announce a 300-million-euro development, while Le Figaro reported four other major projects totalling 800 million euros.
They include 90 million euros from German automaker Daimler to expand its electric bus plant in Ligny-en-Barrois and 450 million euros from US recycler Circ for a textile recycling facility in Moselle.
The government also announced plans to reform the textile recycling sector, calling the current model "exhausted".
Netflix chief executive Ted Sarandos told La Tribune that France remained "very important" for the platform. It has employed 25,000 French actors and technicians between 2021 and 2024 on productions including "Lupin", "Tapie" and "Sous la Seine".
Macron will host several roundtables, including on artificial intelligence and energy transition.
Attendees include South Korean executives, Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, Stella Li of China's BYD, and the CEO of Saudi entertainment firm Qiddiya.
Gulf sovereign wealth funds Mubadala, PIF and QIA will also be present, with Macron set to open the Paris office of the Saudi Public Investment Fund on Tuesday.

Channel migrant crossings hit 25,000 mark earlier than any year on record
The number of migrants crossing the Channel in small boats has hit 25,400 at the earliest point in the year since records began. Some 898 migrants made the journey in 13 boats on Wednesday, bringing the total for 2025 so far to 25,436, according to Home Office figures. Small-boat arrivals this year are 51 per cent higher than at the same point in 2024, when the figure stood at 16,842, and 73 per cent higher than at the same point in 2023, when it was 14,732. It is the highest number of asylum seekers to have reached the UK in the first seven months of the year since the first migrants reached the UK on small boats in 2018. Last year the 25,000 mark was passed on Sept 22, and in 2023 it was Oct 2. The first year in which at least 25,000 arrivals were recorded was 2022, when the milestone was passed on Aug 27. The total in that year went on to hit a record 45,774 by the end of December. Modelling, first published by The Telegraph, has forecast that the number of illegal migrants will hit nearly 45,000 if the sea and weather conditions are as benign as they were in 2024. Sir Keir Starmer is hoping that new measures announced in July after an Anglo-French summit with Emmanuel Macron, France's president, will reduce the number of projected crossings. A Borders bill currently before Parliament will also give Border Force and police officers new counter-terror style powers to search and arrest suspected people smugglers and seize phones from migrants. A new offence of endangering lives at sea with a jail term of up to five years will also target smugglers. On Wednesday, pictures showed multiple boats arrive in Dover carrying people wearing life jackets. Others showed Border Force boats following each other into the port. They were filled with people standing on outside decking. An RNLI lifeboat sailed two miles into French waters to rescue more than 90 migrants crammed on to a single dinghy, before bringing them back to Dover. Bad weather prevented any crossings on Thursday. A Home Office spokesman said: 'We all want to end dangerous small boat crossings, which threaten lives and undermine our border security.' Mistral in talks with VC firms, MGX to raise funds at $10 billion valuation, FT reports
(Reuters) -French artificial intelligence startup Mistral is in talks with investors, venture capital firms and Abu Dhabi's MGX to raise $1 billion at a valuation of $10 billion, the Financial Times reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. The company launched in June Europe's first AI reasoning model, which uses logical thinking to create a response, as it tries to keep pace with American and Chinese rivals at the forefront of AI development. The funding would accelerate the commercial rollout of Mistral's Le Chat chatbot and support continued development of its large language models, the report said. MGX and Mistral did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment. The startup raised 600 million euros in a Series B funding round that valued the company at 5.8 billion euros last year. Industry observers consider Mistral as Europe's best-positioned AI company to rival Silicon Valley leaders, though the French firm has yet to achieve comparable market traction or revenue scale.
